Beyond Asphodel's fields of tall grass, the slightest shift in sunlight begins to occur. While most of the area is dim as if an overcast dawn, the far edge of the land begins to brighten up. The grasses grow shorter and a little brighter. The dense mist that marks the boundary of the Afterlife looms overhead in a thick wall, but remains bright as though a sun is burning cheerily behind it. Gentle hills rise up beneath the short grass and small pieces of broken rocks made of beautiful blues, greens, black and white can be found scattered about. The bits of broken boulders grow more frequent and larger the closer to the mist. At the very edge, large rocks jut up at strange angles out of the ground and surround a pool. Above, water pours from a cliff face obscured by mist down into the calm pool.

In the far reaches of Asphodel's still forests, the hills begin to grow steep and turn to towering mountains. These colossal formations of rock and mineral create a nearly impenetrable bowl, with the only entrance a great ravine formed by a split in the mountains. With the slopes lined in dense mist and the valley packed full of towering red woods, the area remains dark and isolated. The valley carves through the mountains for quite a distance and can easily ensnare a wandering soul. An uneasy feeling is not uncommon here, as the darkest feelings and thoughts of the dead seem to linger in the shadows.
