character types
asphodel residents

These are equines that have passed on and now reside in Asphodel. They are able to choose their Afterlife appearance and this appearance may be any that they had in their mortal life from a newborn all the way to the moment of their death. They may also cure any physical or mental ailments that they had as mortals, such as blindness. They will be healed of any injuries at death, however it will leave scars and pain. Horses that live in Asphodel may travel to the land of mortals. They will appear semi-transparent in the land of the living, but will otherwise appear like a normal mortal horse. They may touch living horses and as a result can be injured. They will heal upon returning to Asphodel, but it will be a slow process. Asphodel residents do not possess wings or horns. They can only reproduce if they appeal to either Utopia or the Underworld and they can be given a task/duty in return for this favor. They can breed with angels, demons, or mortals and their offspring will be as follows:

Asphodel x demon = Fiend (demon parent dominant)
Asphodel x angel = Seraph (angel parent dominant)
Asphodel x mortal = mortal

angels and demons

Equines from Asphodel that appeal to the leaders of Utopia or the Underworld become an angel or a demon, respectively. They can have either horns or wings but not both. Wings have a maximum wingspan of twice the length of the horse and horns can be from any living animal (rhino, deer, bull etc.). Certain angels may give out miracles (please see the Utopian ranks and rules for more information) and some demons may possess mortals (please see Underworld ranks and rules for more information). Angels and demons can be seen, heard, and touched by mortals. They are also able to alter their appearance so that their Afterlife features such as horns or wings are hidden. Once a mortal passes onto the Afterlife, they are cured of any and all of their ailments (the blind can see, the mute can speak, etc.), but they may choose to present themselves in their mortal form if they wish. Angels and demons can interact with the mortal world as normal equines can and are able to be injured, though they heal quickly. Angels and demons are also capable of breeding with mortal equines and with each other.

Angel Powers:

» Give out miracles (only certain angels, see Utopian ranks)
» Positively influence emotions of those surrounding them temporarily (in the current thread they are in)
» Heal a sick equine (only in the current thread they are in)

Demon Powers:

» Give out miracles (can ask for something in return)
» Possession (only certain demons, see Underworld ranks)
» Negatively influence the emotions of those surrounding them temporarily (in the current thread they are in)
» Make an equine feel sick (only in the current thread they are in)

nephilim and cambions

Foals born from an Afterlife horse and a living horse. You have a one in four chance of the breeding being successful to receive a nephilim or a cambion. If your breeding is unsuccessful, you must wait two weeks before trying again. They will possess special markings, which can be moved with an item.

Nephilim
If a Utopian and a living horse breed, it creates a nephilim horse. Nephilim horses can cure the Underworld illness spread by cambion horses. They cure the illness the same way it was spread (bodily fluids) so, for example, if a cambion bites a character and infects them, to heal the infected character, the nephilim must bite the infected in the same place. They have a healing symbol somewhere on their body, signifying this ability.

Angel x mortal = nephilim
Angel x nephilim = nephilim
Nephilim x mortal = nephilim
Nephilim x nephilim = nephilim
Nephilim x cambion = 50/50 chance of nephilim or cambion
Nephilim x demon = 50/50 chance of nephilim or cambion

Cambions
If an Underworld and a living horse breed, it creates a cambion horse. Cambion horses all carry an Underworld illness. This illness may only be spread through direct contact with bodily fluids (ie. injuries, sexual contact, etc.). Symptoms of this illness include: fevers so high they can cause seizures, auditory and visual hallucinations of the Underworld, sores on the body that resemble and feel like burns, and eventual death. Infected horses may survive by use of a miracle or Afterlife intervention. All Cambion horses will bear a biohazard symbol somewhere on their body to signify this. Cambions are immune to each other's diseases and cannot infect each other.

Demon x mortal = cambion
Demon x cambion = cambion
Cambion x mortal = cambion
Cambion x cambion = cambion
Cambion x nephilim = 50/50 chance of nephilim or cambion
Cambion x angel = 50/50 chance of nephilim or cambion

Birthing
If the mother of the foal is an angel or a demon, then they can give birth in either Eden or the mortal plane. Depending on ranking, the mother may not be able to stay the entire time to nurse the child and must find a nursing mare in between visits. Mothers of cambion foals are immune to the disease as long as they are nursing the foal, unless you would like for them to become infected for plot reasons.

Curing A Nephilim Or Cambion
These horses can be cured of the ability to spread or cure disease by the purchase of a Miracle and appealing to a side of the Afterlife - either the Underworld or Utopia. The Lord and Lady of one side can then cure the horse, but the horse has to serve that side of the Afterlife for its entire life, or risk being reverted back.

In order to purchase a miracle to cure these foals, you must first thread with the character performing the miracle with the mother or father of the foal, or the foal itself, and have a minimum of 4 posts each in the thread. Once you have completed this, you may purchase the store item, and you must link to the thread with your purchase.

seraphs, fiends, and daeva

A breeding between angels and demons. These breedings have a one in eight chance of being successful, and if the breeding is unsuccessful you must wait two weeks before trying again.

Abilities
Seraphs, fiends, and daeva can be seen, but they have a ghost-like look to them in the mortal realm, as if they are not whole. Their form will alway stay the same. They will possess two powers, one gained from each parent, which will be decided upon birth by a staff member. Seraphs, fiends, and daeva are not able to interact with the mortal world. They are unable to touch anything - including mortals, even in Eden - and thus cannot be injured by mortals. They are able to pass through physical elements. They each possess a special marking, which can be moved with an item.

Seraphs
A seraph is a breeding between two angels or angelic entities. Seraphs may have either horns or wings. They will possess a trinity symbol.

Fiends
A fiend is a breeding between two demons or demonic entities. Fiends may have either horns or wings. They will possess an anarchy symbol.

Daeva
A daeva is a breeding between an angel and a demon. Daeva have both horns and wings. They will possess a combination of the seraph and fiend symbol, which is a trinity symbol inside of a circle.

Breeding
Seraphs, fiends, and daeva can breed with their own kind, meaning other seraphs, fiends, and daeva, as well as angels and demons. Because seraphs, fiends, and daeva are not born into the living, mortal world, they are not capable of breeding with mortal horses, as they do not have an actual physical body. As such, any Utopia x Utopia combination will result in a seraph, any Underworld x Underworld combination will result in a fiend, and any Utopia x Underworld or daeva involved breeding will result in a daeva.

Utopia combinations:

Seraph x seraph = seraph
Seraph x angel = seraph
Angel x angel = seraph

Underworld combinations:

Fiend x fiend = fiend
Fiend x demon = fiend
Demon x demon = fiend

Utopia x Underworld or daeva involved:

Angel x demon = daeva
Angel x fiend = daeva
Seraph x demon = daeva
Seraph x fiend = daeva
Seraph x daeva = daeva
Fiend x daeva = daeva
Angel x daeva = daeva
Demon x daeva = daeva
Daeva x daeva = daeva
