Anasazi slid through the trees, not even sure where she was. She had been seeking the stallion that had stolen her heart and somehow... Well, she was lost. Around her, her three foals frolicked and played as they journeyed with her. The darker colt was more rambunctious than the other two, seeming to push the boundaries of what was safe. Frowning, she watched them. Zenith was a shadow of herself in the mortal realm, something that made her feel wary. She seemed to do just fine, though the passed through trees randomly and it gave her a heart attack every time.
"Zenith, Red Flash... Voodoo... Please stay close!" She called, having a hard time letting the dark colt's name grace her tongue. Ana shook her head and settled her wings, smiling softly at the snow owl feathers that were now part of her. The four reached a beautiful clearing and Ana decided to take a bit to allow them to run off energy and her to take a rest. Settling beside a small stream, Ana watched the trio of foals as they played and raced in the rich grasses. Resting her right rear, Ana allowed herself to relax more than she had in a long time.

Dark and beautiful, Baphomet danced through the mortal realm. She was enjoying a day to herself before she dove into her work as a guardian for one of the Helkaer lands. It was not exactly the sort of power that she had desired, but it was a step up from the low that she had been stuck at since her rebirth. Power was one thing that she had always sought, probably something that she would fight for until she slipped into the nothingness that was death. True death, that was. She had technically died once before and had been brought back as the powerful demoness that she had become. And she was glorious! Golden bangles beat a tinkling tune as she moved and her golden coronet was a testament to the power that she held and the power that she was pushing toward.
"Someday... I will be the Lady..." She murmured to herself as she moved like a shadow among the trees. That was her greatest disappointment. She had failed in her quest to become the Lady that Lady Gray had become. A small part of the sooty bay and chestnut mare loathed the albino goddess that had taken her crown. On the other hoof, she did respect the hell out of her and quite enjoyed the company of the striking figure.
A strange sound caught her attention as she moved, a mare calling to foals if she was not mistaken... Baphomet turned in the direction of the voice and slid through the changing brush. Golds and reds raked at her velvet coat and she enjoyed the caress of nature on her pelt. Pausing at the edge of a small clearing, she watched a painted mare and her three charges. Two of the foals looked much like their mother, red toned and painted. The third was dark and light wrapped together, with tribal markings across his frame that made her tilt her head. The dark colt and the red dun and white filly were both almost ghost-like as they passed through obstacles and played.
"Beautiful children..." Baphomet said softly, knowing that her voice would carry to the mare. She saw the wings that the painted mother had settled along her side and knew that she was no mortal either. "Two look like you.. That dark colt on the other hand..." She let her voice draw out, the lilt of her voice raising as she asked for more information. The trio of foals heard Baphomet speak and turned to race to their mother. The two red foals huddled behind her while the dark colt stood a few feet away and stared at the demoness with calculating blue eyes that seemed much older than they should.

"Beautiful children..." Anasazi whirled to face the mare that had slid from the shadows. Her pale eyes traveled over the dark mare's form, taking in her golden jewelry and goat like horns. She instantly shuddered, recognizing the mare for the demon that she was. Throwing her head from side to side, she searched for the blue roan stallion that had sired her dark colt. "Who are you and where is Shaman?" Ana spat, pulling herself up to her full height and raising her head. She would not be afraid of the mare before her.
"Two look like you.. That dark colt on the other hand..." Ana turned her attention to her foals as they came barreling at her. Zenith and Red Flash burrowed behind her, protected by the mare that was their mother. Voodoo glanced at his mother and slid to a stop a few feet away, his aloof gaze focusing on the demoness. 'He recognizes her evil...' Ana thought with a pang. "They are all mine. A demon sired him while good stallions sired the other two." She said, ready to jump to the defense of any of the foals should the dark mare try anything that she didnt like. Flicking her tail, Ana stepped forward to place herself between Voodoo and the stranger.

"Who are you and where is Shaman?" Baphomet paused at the questions that were thrown at her. "Now, that is more than one question from an insipid angel..." She began, taking the time to try to place who Shaman might be. It hit her like a ton of bricks. The blue roan stallion had been proud of his deeds and had been the lap dog of a past Lady. "First, I am Baphomet, demon of the Underworld and protector of Toxin Raj. And if my deductions are correct... You must be Anasazi, the pathetic creature that was stolen to be the play thing of a past Lady and her lap dog. Shaman is missing, as is his son. Perhaps they are even here in the mortal realm, hunting you..." She was enjoying playing with the new mother. The painted mare was on edge and Baph could smell the fear rolling off of her and two of her children. The dark colt was nothing like the others...
"They are all mine. A demon sired him while good stallions sired the other two." Baphomet smiled and fought back a laugh. Sired by a demon. No wonder the dark colt was unafraid in her presence. It also meant that he would be able to come to the Underworld and become her first warrior... Golden eyes judged the distance between the mother and colt, noting that he had avoided getting too close to her. "And how that knowledge must bother you. I bet you even detest the innocent babe beside you for who his father was. Judging by the reactions from you and his appearance, I am betting that he is Shaman's son. I could... Well... If I were Shaman, I would be hunting down this colt to take him to my side. Of course, his methods might cause the unfortunate deaths of your other two children, if not yourself as well. Give him to me and I will raise him to be strong and a son that any mother should be proud of." Baphomet's voice went to silk as she spoke, wondering how easily the mare would give him up.

The reminder of her time with Shaman was nauseating and it took a lot of self control for Ana to continue to stand there and protect her children. "So you know of me. Nice to know that word spreads through the ranks of a bunch of demon brutes. Is attempting to scare others more fun that actually doing your job then?" The painted mother was getting irritated with the dark mare before her and it was beginning to show.
"And how that knowledge must bother you. I bet you even detest the innocent babe beside you for who his father was. She turned and gazed at the dark colt, wondering how he would react. Would he remember that she was his mother if he went with the demoness? Would Zenith and Flash even remember that he had been part of their family? Would she have to face him in the future? So many questions were flying through her mind as she watched the dark colt turn his gaze to her. That gaze was like a knife to her heart and it made her want to flee. "Take him... May you love him more than I have been able to..." She murmured, tears in her eyes. Turning to her remaining foals, she nudged them out of the clearing and took them home.

Voodoo walked over to the beautiful demoness and looked up at her dark facade. The cross that adorned her face felt like it was calling him to her. She bowed her delicate muzzle to ruffle his fluffy black mane. "Welcome home, my little darling. I shall care for you where the painted angel didnt. You will be my big strong boy." Baphomet murmured, her soft voice a crooning lullaby to his ears. Turning on her heel, she led the way out of the clearing, Voodoo plastered to her side as she traveled back to her cave in the Underworld.
