Sanctio It was time. Taking a deep breath, the hellion began his climb up to the Highlands. He didn't know what the process would entail, but he knew that afterwards he would be a new man. Currently, he was a Dark who had done some bad things in his past. Not many, but there were still things he was ashamed of and knew that he needed to be cleansed of in order to move on and become a better man. It was all thanks to Underoath, a newfound friend, that he had decided on this change - going from Dark to Light - and the draft brute was looking forward to going home after this. Not his old homeland, no, but home with Oath. The dappled gray beast had assured Sanctio that, should he go through the cleansing process and be accepted as a Light by the Versai, he was more than welcome to join his herd and become a warrior for the Light alliance. Now, Sanctio had never viewed himself as much of a fighter, but he knew that he was strong and fighting for the alliance that was going to save him seemed like a proper way to thank the Versai for what they were going to do for him in a matter of minutes. Or did it take longer? Now that he thought of it, it probably was going to take a bit longer to go through the process. He shuddered to think about it but took another deep, calming breath as he came to a halt in the place that Oath had told him to go. A place called Charem.
"I come seeking the Versai for a cleansing," he called out then, voice loud and proud. He didn't know how long it would take for one of the Sisters to come to him, but he was hoping he would not have to wait long. He didn't want to suddenly chicken out and bring even more shame onto himself. He wanted to turn over a new leaf and become someone that Versai could be proud of. Thankfully, it did not take too long for him to hear an answering call and from the distance approached a mare, one much shorter than himself. She had to be under sixteen hands and Sanctio stood at an intimidating seventeen-point-two hands. He smiled down at her, though, dipping his head as she observed him curiously with narrowed eyes. "Hello. I am Allocen. Tell me your name, and what you wish to be cleansed of," the buckskin said, getting right down to business. She seemed a little nervous herself but Sanctio just smiled at her, head lowered to show he meant no harm.
"My name is Sanctio and I am a Dark. I do not speak English natively, so I am sorry. I have not done as much damage as some Darks have, but I have still done things I am not to be proud of. I have raped before, something that pains me to think about now. I used it to... I do not know how to phrase it. To get what I needed to get. To send message to enemies. I did not enjoy it, but I still did it. I wish to be cleansed of the darkness and become a Light. I am friends with Underoath and will be joining his herd, but first he told me to come to this place. Could you please help me, Allocen?" He finally fell silent, looking down at the small buckskin mare with hopeful eyes and a gentle smile. She had not made a noise nor moved as he spoke, her eyes partially narrowed, before she finally, finally gave a curt nod.
"I will help you, Sanctio. There will be no darkness left inside of you after I am finished with you. Rest now, for you will need it. I will wake you when it is time to begin."

Sanctio He was awake by a gentle nudge to his chest. He blinked his eyes open slowly, ears twitching, for a moment confused about where he was but then he saw the mare, Allocen, and smiled sleepily at her. She did not return the expression. Her face was void of emotion, her eyes blank as she looked up at him. "It is time to begin," she said to him, taking a few steps back, putting a bit of distance between them. Sanctio nodded and stretched out his head and neck before giving himself a shake, lips flapping slightly. He felt groggy and slow, but he didn't want to argue with the Versai Sister. She was still looking at him and despite their size difference, her keen gaze sent a chill through his large bodice. She was looking at him like she saw right through him, right to his dirty core where he kept all his deepest and darkest secrets. It was making him uncomfortable, but he supposed that this process wasn't supposed to be comforting. Removing dirt was never easy. A cleansing of the entire soul had to be even harder. So he stood still under her watchful eyes, ears twitching, muscles rippling beneath his sleek pelt. "Come. Follow me," the buckskin mare said before turning and leading him away.
She led him to a pool that was surrounded by a plant he had never seen before. She motioned with her muzzle towards the plants and he peered at them nervously, squinting down at them. The shadows were growing darker now that the sun was beginning to set, and it was hard to make out exactly what they looked like, but he could see enough to know that it was nothing he had ever seen before. Just looking at the plant had his stomach churning, his instincts telling him not to eat it, but then Allocen spoke again. "Eat a mouthful, and then look into the water. Do not close your eyes or look away. Utopia will know. They are watching." Her voice was so cold, not harsh, but just... cold. He could feel the hatred she had towards his darkness radiating off of her. His ears twitched back but he only hesitated for a moment before stepping up to the edge of the pool and lowering his large cranium down towards the plants. He took up a mouthful, chewing them slowly. They did not taste good, almost bitter. It almost felt like his throat was burning as he swallowed, but it could have all just been inside his mind. Either way, he didn't like it, and he wanted to take up a gulp of water but Allocen had not told him to drink. She had told him to look. And so he did.
At first, he didn't see much of anything. Just his own reflection in the deathly still surface of the pool. But then, slowly, it began to change. At first, he thought it was just a trick of the eyes. But then things became clearer. His reflection wasn't his anymore. It was the face of a mare he had known long ago, one of the first ones he had ever raped, and she was staring at him with such hatred and disgust in her eyes. "You bastard!" she was screaming at him and it sounded like she was right there! So loud and so real. "You ruined my life! I had three stillborns, triplets, and it ruined me. Now my mate and I can never have children. I hate you, I hate you!" Her screams were growing louder and more distorted until her picture began to break apart, the reflection shifting again to become a gruesome scene. It was himself, standing over bodies. Such broken, bloody bodies. The feathering upon his legs were matted with blood, and his bay hide was streaked with blood. It was obvious by the damage done on some of the female bodies what he had done to them... so much violation. He felt his mouth go dry, his stomach heaving, and he wanted to look away but he knew that he must not so he kept looking as the image changed again, only this time it showed just one thing. Flames. The fiery abyss of Hell, he was sure. And he could hear himself screaming, though whether it was the hallucination screaming or him actually screaming he wasn't sure. He began to cry, heavy sobs that made his body tremble, his face quickly becoming soaked through with tears. "No more! I beg of you, Allocen, no more!" he choked out, the flames still burning in front of his eyes.
"You've seen what you've done, and what you will do, as well as what awaits you, Sanctio." Allocen's voice sounded like it was coming from so far away. Like they were standing on opposite ends of a tunnel. "You must repent, or your soul will stay forever this way. Turn and face me, heathen, so that you may be cleansed." It was so hard to move, but he did it, heavy pillars turning his bodice to face in Allocen's direction. He was ready. He didn't want to end up in Hell. He wanted to change his ways and be forgiven. He wanted to start a new life.
