Anger had begun to consume the bay queen. The Helkaer had been doing as they pleased for too long, and they had taken advantage of the Neutral Kingdom for the last time. Kalila was not frightened by their alleged chaos, and even though they had sold themselves to the devils below. Kalila's own soul belonged to the underworld at the moment too. Enough was still enough for her. She would not allow her beloved kingdom to fall to the storm of the chaos children. This was also a chance to prove herself to not only her kingdom, but all of Wild Equines. Respira was a vile creature, who lead others like her. While she could understand the darkness they allowed consume them, that didn't mean she supported it.
Like any group, they had achieved great things since their foundation. At least from what she understood. Pawns of the Underworld, and even further making her disdain the afterlife having such influence on mortals. Kalila scoffed as her frame lead the way to the battlefield. There would be no blood to shed upon the grounds of Tremala Woods if she could help it. That's right. Blood. Blood of your kin. Lap it up like the obedient, pathetic dog you are. The elder hissed to her with venom thick in his voice that existed only within her skull. Kalila did not shy away from his encouragement this time, although she knew quite well The Elder didn't exist here. It was all in her head.
Yet this is the kind of life they had trained her for. To fight, and defend what was her home. Kalila was no stranger to bloodshed and battles. War however was something she had yet to experience. Still the queen would not back down. She would not fall before this beast, and she would not allow the Helkaer to use her as a doormat. Send their bodies where they belong. Send their souls to the river styx itself! He howled in excitement to her, and Kalila merely shook her head to regain her focus. The battlefield extended before her, the ground stained in a rust like colour. No doubt from those who had exchanged blood, and lives here long before she and Respira. "If you're going to start a fight, throw the first punch. And you better make it a good one." Kalila hissed now, turning to face where she expected Respira to appear before her.

'cause all your hate just makes me stronger I fear no man, so give me your best shot and everything you got I am empty, ready for a feeding frenzy The heated argument she'd had with the Neutral Queen in Tremala Woods was merely a prelude to this confrontation. Kalila had left first and Respira had followed, taking all the time she needed. Respira's strides were easy and confident as she traversed the terrain between the Neutral Royal lands and the Battlefield. She had not stepped foot here in eight years. The last battle she had fought was against Fawn, a cute little thirteen hand high mare who thought she could save the world. Emrys, the slave she had tried to free in her little stunt, was still a resident of Toxin Raj - a free resident now. Respira smirked a bit as she continued on, passing through various borders of the Free lands. A lot had changed in her life in eight years. Back then she'd been a Major of the Helkaer, third in line to the top. Now she was on top and had been for almost five years. For now, any thoughts of moving on had been quelled. Now, the only thing on her mind was the war. This war was the very thing her furious, bored mind had been craving and she really had to thank the Neutral Royals for providing her with the entertainment. The sun was high in the sky as she crossed the border that marked the Battlefield. Not much had changed. It was still the same desolate place it had always been - a vast cracked piece of Earth that stretched on with only a few trees bordering it. There were a few horses scattered around, locked in their own battles, completely focused on their own stakes. Respira's own freedom was the stake in this battle. It would have been a steeper price if Respira had been afraid of the Neutral Royals. She could cause far more damage to them than they could to her - if they were even willing to hurt her. She'd been beaten and tortured before and it did not faze her. The only reason they had to hold her in Tremala Woods then was to prevent her from communicating with the Brotherhood and her own herd. She was not worried, though. Sly was more than capable of holding her own and Toxin Raj would do fine under the temporary leadership of Lostprophet. Her own arrogance blinded her to any other possibilities. It did not take her long to find Kalila. The environment that she had chosen was nothing special - a typical portion of cracked, rust-colored space with few obstacles. The Neutral Queen was furious - that much she had made clear. The Commander's gaze locked with Kalila's own as she approached her. 'If you're going to start a fight, throw the first punch. And you better make it a good one,' Kalila hissed. Respira chuckled, "you were the one who wanted this war, darling." Kalila and Cathair had made the declaration of war, not the Helkaer. If Kalila wanted to play the fool and make the Helkaer her scapegoat, then so be it. Respira was pleased to be making the first strike against this so-called Queen. Her calculating gaze swept across the mare, noting her height advantage. Decently built. Her taller height would make her more difficult to knock down, but it also meant she had a heavier frame to maneuver. Respira would have to rely on her speed and agility more for this battle. Her eyes narrowed. That was no problem. Now, she had to think of her first attack. The typical weak spots included the face, neck, and legs. Being shorter meant she could grab easier at Kalila's neck rather than her face. Her legs would also be a little easier considering she did not have to risk going so low to get them. A smirk crept across her face. She might as well be bold with this first move and show this Queen that she wasn't messing around. If it's a war the Neutral kingdom wanted, a war they would get. Only a few moments had passed as Respira strategized in her mind and then it was decided. The Commander tensed her muscles and launched herself toward Kalila at full speed. She had planned on slowing to a stop as she made her attack but that notion was dismissed as the thrill of adrenaline filled her system. She continued going straight for Kalila and when she was a few feet away she bared her teeth, ready for impact. When she reached the point she figured Kalila would be, she tried to grasp for the mare's throat, neck, hell even a shoulder would be nice. Her momentum continued into the blow and depending on where Kalila was, Respira could collide directly with the mare. Now, Respira's next move relied upon whether Kalila had stayed in the same place. Respira sauntered her way onto the battlefield shortly after Kalila had. The pair had left around the same time, with the bay queen leading the way. Her green gaze watched each movement she made, each twitch of the powerful muscles beneath her golden flesh. Kalila had a height advantage on Respira, but it would take more than that to out-duel someone she assumed was a combat veteran. She didn’t believe you got to being a Helkaer commander without some sort of fighting ability. Respira chuckled to Kalila’s own statement, and offered up a quip of worthy measure. “Yes, I did. I fight for the things I believe are right. Especially for those I believe have been wronged.” She responded simply as she pulled her muscles taut in anticipation for Respira’s first attack. The palomino commander paused a few moments to gaze upon Kalila’s frame, no doubt calculating her best move. In moments, the peace dissipated, and Respira launched her first attack. Her powerful legs carried her full force in her direction. Respira was quick, and a thick layer of dust blew up in a cloud behind her. Kalila found herself caught off guard for a moment, which was her first mistake. It gave her no time to move out of her way, and so she had to react quickly.
As Respira neared, she reared up on her hind legs. Kalila aimed her front knees towards Respira’s jaw in an attempt to snap it closed, even slightly. Hot pain seared along her left shoulder, and she could feel the hot blood trickle down her leg, and into the dirt. She winced at the fresh stinging sensation the air caused. Kalila didn’t want to waste her momentum, so she couldn’t stop to focus on her wound now. As she was still partially off the ground, she arched her neck back and bared her own teeth viciously. Kalila lunged her head downward towards Respira’s bodice, in hopes of snagging the top of her scalp with her attack. She’d never been one for quick foot work in battle. Kalila was all about close combat with another, it posed more risk of injury to both parties. Her green eyes caught a glimpse of Respira’s eye as she allowed gravity to drag her down against the earth once more. Kalila shoved her frame off the sturdy ground, pushing her frame out of Respira’s direct path. She didn’t choose to back off completely. Get closer. Tear at the soft flesh of her belly! As we taught you! Kalila’s ears pinned backwards at the sound of the elder, but part of her brain locked into her old training.
Attacking vulnerable parts of another’s body was most important, fight smarter, not harder. The bay queen moved quickly now, feigning an attempt to break away from Respira’s side, now that she was facing Respira’s rump. Her enamels made an appearance once more as she threw her weight towards Respira’s left side. Aiming to tear a chunk out of the mid-section of her stomach rather than underneath, as Respira had more potential to aim a kick to her head. Kalila was hoping this would work out in her favor, she wasn’t really playing to the strengths of time or precision here. Though much of it had been her training, it was not all her training. She could feel the air fiercely bite at the fresh wound that Respira’s teeth had torn in the front of her chest. Kalila winced once more as she continued her movement away from Respira’s frame. Kalila wasn’t nearly as quick as the commander, but that didn’t mean she had no agility to her. The ivory faced mare swiveled around to face Respira once more. Kalila hadn’t gone a tremendous distance away from her, and yet she was already braced for another attack from the palomino commander.

strength in numbers counting you like sheep makes me wonder why you're all so weak Respira felt the impact through her entire body as she collided with Kalila. The Neutral Queen had managed to shift the area that would take damage, but she did not manage to elude the attack completely. Blood filled Respira's mouth as she bit down into the flesh of Kalila's chest - a testament to Kalila's failure. However, the moment was short-lived as Respira felt Kalila's teeth snag her scalp while her head was lowered. They pinched and broke the skin and Respira felt the waves of pain radiate through her jawline and down her neck. Out of shock and necessity, Respira let go of Kalila's chest, staggering. Moments later, Kalila herself let go and fled from Respira's line of vision. Respira's scalp burned fiercely and she was uncertain whether Kalila had also taken part of her mane with her. The palomino mare bared her bloodstained teeth in anger and spat Kalila's blood on the ground. Fuck She could feel her own blood trickling down behind her left ear and it was one of the most unnerving sensations she'd ever felt. Respira went to turn and face Kalila, her eyes blazing silver, but was interrupted in her attempt. Kalila had already launched another attack while Respira's back was turned and Respira was halfway through her turn when she saw the mare barreling toward her. Respira's legs scrabbled on the cracked earth, trying to backpedal and avoid Kalila entirely. She wasn't completely successful in her endeavor and felt a line of fire rip along her side as Kalila's teeth met their mark. Respira managed to not take the full brunt of it, which was some sort of victory - though it certainly didn't feel like it as her side burned and blood dripped down her side in thick rivulets. After Kalila passed by her in a cloud of dust, Respira tilted her head to inspect the wound, feeling blood from her scalp gash trickle down her forehead. The wound on her side was about two inches long and - while it was bleeding steadily at the moment - it was not deep. There was no danger to her child. Thoroughly angry now, the Helkaer Commander raised her head and found Kalila again. She had not fled too far away and was facing Respira now. SRespira locked gazes with the Queen, her teeth clenched against the pain radiating in her side and in her head. Respira wouldn't have figured the Neutral Queen for a fighter, but she clearly knew she was doing and Respira was beginning to feel a grudging respect that she could only give to a worthy opponent. Kalila's chest wound dripped with blood and Respira traced her gaze along the wound as she contemplated her next attack. She wondered how much the chest gash pained Kalila - whether she had further aggravated it by running to tear the gash in Respira's side or if the wound did not affect her movements at all. Either way, it was now a more sensitive area to attack. However, mimicking her previous attack would also expose her torn scalp, something that was rather unwise. She would have to get the height advantage to avoid being hit in the same place and that obviously meant rearing. It was not going to be attacking the same place, but if Kalila was hindered by the wound at all, it might make it difficult for her to dodge - not to mention the potential fear she might feel at realizing she was being attacked in the same spot. A sly smirk crossed Respira's lips and then she was off again, whipping up dust behind her. Her head throbbed in time with her steps and she could feel her muscles pulling on her torn side as she ran, but she did her best to ignore the pain and hoped that it would not make her wounds worse. Right before she reached Kalila, she slid to a halt and wasted no time rearing up on her hind legs, wincing as she did so as her wounds screamed in protest. Her front legs struck out at where she figured Kalila would stand, aiming for her face, but happy to hit any part of her. Her strikes were precise and measured. Her left leg aimed for Kalila's eye, then her right went after her nose, then her left went for her jawline, then her right for her other eye. After these four strikes, she went down to all fours and backpedaled, hoping to avoid any immediate retaliation. Kalila only had a few moments of recovery. Her lungs were burning from her effort, and her mouth was coated in the commander’s blood. The taste of iron was far too strong for her to ignore, and she felt the urge to charge back in for more rise. Yes, consume her blood. Make her wish she’d never crossed us! The elder howled eagerly somewhere to her left. Kalila momentarily jerked her head to the right, as if to get away from his incessant howling. Kalila could feel the sear of the pain at the front of her chest, more crimson was spilling from the wound. It seemed as though her sudden burst irritated it further. The bay queen did not shy away from Respira’s gaze, and took triumph in her successful attacks. There was a moment of stillness between them, Respira seemed to be calculating her next move. Kalila smirked to herself as she studied the palomino commander.
Blood dripped down the side of her head, and her side. Kalila further felt interested in pursuing a close combat strategy. The still moments passed quickly, and Respira was on the move again. Kalila didn’t try to jump out of her way entirely, as she didn’t want to mimic the commander’s previous actions. Instead she waited for her to get close enough, before she charged towards her in retaliation. Respira surprised her by reaching skyward with her front half, and nailing Kalila on the nose. The soft flesh of her maw tore open, and blood quickly spilled down the edges of her lips. Kalila could feel rage surge her bodice, and she knew it was time to react. The ivory faced queen dodged the blows near her eyes, but was knocked once more on her lower jaw. She threw her own body upwards toward Respira’s neck. Kalila was to Respira’s left, and extended her own maw towards the sensitive side of Respira’s nape.
Tear open her veins! Teach her what happens when you cross the silencers! He howled once more at her. Kalila shifted her weight with gravity as she came down, hoping to knock Respira off balance as she did so. Her hooves collided with the ground, jarring her shoulders roughly. Her wounds screamed in protest, their hot pain flared with each movement she made. The air never helped, it only stung. The dust and debris they stirred up in their exchange settled onto the sensitive areas near the freshly torn skin, making them feel even worse. Kalila didn’t have time to tend to them however, and she hit the ground running. She had one final opportunity for a blow. The bay queen threw up her hind daggers towards Respira’s belly, hoping to land one well-placed kick to a sensitive spot on her torso. She darted adjacent to Respira as she did so, so that the pair made a ‘T’ shape as she departed.
Her lips curled into a grimace as she surely tore the chest wound open further. But her gait did not cease, nor did she flee very far. Kaila pivoted once more to face Respira in preparation for her own final blows. The thick taste of iron still distracted her, and left her craving for one final taste of her blood. Her green orbs were wild, not unlike fire itself as she stared at Respira's wounds with great hunger.

feeding frenzy the gnashing of the teeth if there's strength in numbers why are you so weak? Respira's quick drop to all fours was not quick enough as she watched Kalila rise with her. Respira felt two of her strikes connect and smirked with sadistic glee at her success - though said smirk was short-lived. Kalila wasted no time in her advantageous position and went forward to knock into Respira. Taken off balance, Respira stumbled on two legs and felt Kalila's teeth meet their mark once more in the side of her neck as she stumbled. The Neutral Queen's teeth ripped a sizeable gash in the left side of her neck and she had also thrown her weight into the blow, causing Respira to crumple down to her knees in an effort not to be taken off her feet completely. Kalila left no opportunity for an immediate counterattack as she dashed away, kicking up dust in her wake. However, the bay Queen was not done yet and aimed a kick at Respira's torso - though because Respira was now on her knees, the blow was higher than Kalila had intended and instead hit the gash on her left side - further aggravating it and causing Respira to yelp at the sudden pain. She skidded involuntarily at the sudden pain and felt the familiar ache of road rash on her knees. Once the onslaught was over, Respira hissed gently through her teeth and managed to get up on all fours again, though she staggered. She could feel the warm torrents of blood streaming down her neck. Though Kalila had avoided a major artery, there was still a remarkable amount of bleeding from the wound. Respira cursed under her breath and risked a glance at her knees, relieved to see that it was nothing more than minor road rash. That she could handle. She could not handle the bloodloss she was sustaining, however. Her neck wound was deep and Kalila furthering aggravating the wound in her side had caused that to bleed more profusely as well. She was not going to last much longer in this state - especially not while pregnant and at seventeen. She was already breathing heavily. She had to finish this battle quickly. She turned around to face Kalila again, seeing that the mare had not retreated far once more and seemed to be anticipating Respira's next move. Respira's mind was beginning to feel hazy and she blinked a couple of times, resisting the urge to give herself a shake. She was coated in a fair amount of her own blood and not enough of her opponent's. She had underestimated Kalila, but Kalila was not in the best shape either. Her face had sustained damage from Respira's hooves and Respira drew strength from the fact that Kalila's face might permanently scar from this fight. Kalila being farther away from her meant that Respira would have to charge her a third time, which Respira would have normally been fine with if she wasn't feeling so dizzy. This charge would be her last so she had to make it count. Two more attacks and the fight would end. Then she would have to find someone to tend her wounds because she doubted Kalila would have anyone provide such a service while they awaited the results. The Neutral Queen would probably enjoy watching the Helkaer Commander bleed out in her courts. Respira wasn't going to give her the satisfaction. Her eyes narrowed as she contemplated. Her neck and head wound would make it difficult to move her head to attack with her teeth but using her legs might further aggravate the wound in her left side. Either way she would be making a gamble, though the chances with hooves were less likely to be damaging. She would aim with her back hooves this time. Perhaps she would do a wrap-around and circle around Kalila's body to make her attack and confuse her. She didn't have any other choice. This was her last move. She took in a deep breath and then made her charge, fully aware that every step she took aggravated her wounds and caused more blood to leave her body. She could feel her breath rattling in her nostrils, her heartbeat was rapid, and she was coated in sweat. She ran straight for Kalila, almost as if she were going to mimic her first two attacks once more, but this time, she darted over to Kalila's left side - thereby protecting her own heavily damaged left side - and pivoted on her front legs. She then aimed a powerful kick with her hind legs at Kalila's left shoulder and upper leg. She had to bite her tongue to keep herself from yelping again as the impact of the kick radiated through her injured body. When she landed, she immediately used her momentum to give another attack, pivoting again on her front legs to swing her rear end away from Kalila. Her hazy mind grumbled a "screw-you" to the dangers of using her teeth and she ambled forward and stretched her neck out to try to latch onto Kalila's left shoulder - the same shoulder she hoped to hit with her rear hooves. After her attacks were made, she drew back, stumbling and staggering a few steps, her attacks now spent. The ground around them was decorated with blood, splatters, drops, and trails marking the territory that they'd fought in. Respira kept her gaze pinned to where she figured Kalila to be, hoping to make eye contact with the wench who'd caused her so much damage. Judgment awaited. Kalila had been surprised to know how well her last flurry of blows panned out for her. A thick gash appeared on Respira’s neck, pouring more crimson onto the ground. She shuddered with pleasure at the sight of it. Kalila could feel triumph rising in her throat as she caught a glimpse of Respira on her knees, if only for a brief second or two. The bay queen smirked eagerly to herself, more confident that she had not forgotten her training, although she was rusty. Kalila was now bound to endure the blows from the commander, as per their agreement. She noticed the Palomino warrior stagger slightly. Now! Now! The elder howled mercilessly to her. The sound seemed to echo in her head and was as jarring as the throbbing of her wounds. Kalila almost wanted to rush to meet Respira, if only to end this battle. The pair seemed well matched, and although death was not part of the agreement, she wouldn’t turn it down. Respira began a slow approach, taking a few steps at first. The moments were passing agonizingly slow now. Kalila’s adrenaline was fading, and her wounds began to pulse painfully.
She could already feel the inflammation around her chest wound, it was burning. The blood continued to drip down her legs and nape from her newly earned facial wounds. Her right nostril was caked in thick black and crimson blood. Each move of her head pulled at the vulnerable wounds and made her wince. Respira began to move and pulled her attention away from the pain she felt. Her heart spiked as she was helpless before the palomino. She couldn’t budge or she would forfeit their agreement. Kalila wouldn’t accept any sort of failure here, not after she’d been so bold these past few weeks. Her time as a Queen had seemed much more turbulent than she desired. The Bay Queen's bodice braced for an impact. She locked her muscles as best she could, a frantic attempt not to cave to the urge to pull herself out of harm’s way.
Kalila had the sense that time was now passing slowly. Each movement she saw was deliberate and calculated. Every breath they drew was perfectly timed, although to what she was uncertain. The adrenaline and her racing heart increased the flow of blood from her wounds. Respira was suddenly to her left, and she only had time to look with shock on her face. Kalila wasn’t shocked, but the expression came forth out of her control. Respira’s hooves made powerful contact with her left shoulder and left front leg. The pain shook her nearly as much as the impact did. Her larger frame seemed to curl around Respira’s foot as she was propelled a short distance away from her. Kalila was unable to keep her front half upright after the blow. No amount of preparation would have prevented such damage. Her breath escaped in a violent rush from her ivory maw. Her eyes wide with pain.
Pathetic! The elder barked to her. His voice was now shrill, shrieking obscenities to the grounded queen. Respira was not done, and in a similar fashion to herself, latched on to her neck. It was the space where her neck and withers met. More pain hit her, as Respira’s enamels snapped against her bone. Blood began to seep from this new wound and rushed when Respira pulled away. Kalila could only gasp helplessly in pain. Her front half was only partially upright, she was resting on her knees after the kick. Her nares flared wide, though it only caused more pain. The sudden intake of air could be heard as the world sped back up around her. Respira had stumbled back away from her.
Kalila gazed upon her with a vicious fury. They could no longer continue this battle, for it would only be one of many. The bay queen began to breathe raggedly as she forced herself to her feet once more. They both needed to be treated, and the only ones she knew of capable of such a thing were The Vigilum. Kalila seriously favored her front left leg. She was unable to place any weight on it, and began to worry the extent of the damage she endured. Her battered frame staggered awkwardly towards Respira. Her face contorted into a grimace of pain, and rage. Tear out her throat! The elder howled in ecstasy. The intake of her labored breathing increased as she drew closer to Respira. “We have exchanged our blows. I’ll send for the Vigilum. This is not a death match. I must extend the same courtesy to all opponents I have a modicum of respect for and offer find someone to aid them in recovery. We may be at odds Respira, but I haven’t met someone who can hold their own so ferociously in battle. May the best win.” She spoke through clenched teeth. What she wanted, and what she had to do were two different things. This was, unfortunately, the right thing to do.

(A lot of repetitive comments were removed.)
Roleplayer & Character: ➳ T e c h n o ➳ with Kalila Quality over Quantity: 12.5 Comments: - Would have liked to read more about maybe a missed perception of her opponent's attack or mention of being a vampire. - I feel both were very equal. - The second post started out a little rushed and didn't flow very nicely. - Pawns of the Underworld, and even further making her disdain the afterlife having such influence on mortals. – Not sure where this sentence was going, but I've tried to figure it out multiple times. Maybe practice reading post out loud to check the flow. - Confused by 'Enough was still enough for her.' I tried to read it multiple times, but it didn't make any sense. It just didn't flow well with the next sentence and I can't seem to wrap my head around it. No God Modeling or Power Playing: 14 Comments: - None - Speaking to Respira in the first post before Ebon could say that she was there, and in Ebon's post it says that Respira took her time in getting there. Realism of Attack: 14.5 Comments: - First and second attacks were realistic but rushed. Could have been described more. - Third and fourth takes were realistic. - The attacks seemed to come as a retaliation for the attacks given to her by Respira. It looks good and no issues noticed with them. - Rearing up when a horse is running at you doesn't seem realistic to me, since that would just make it easier to knock you over. Attack Compared to Opponent: 13.5 Comments: - Rearing as a dodge to Respira's first attack didn't seem like a smart idea. - All of her attacks seemed to be blocks during the attacks of Respira. Didn't seem to put as much effort into her attacks as Respira. - Attacks were very well thought out and corresponded with opponents. - Third and fourth attacks felt rushed. Completion of the Form: 12 Comments: - Two of the battle post said that her health was 100% but also noted her injuries, then the final post stated 50% and listed her injuries. - After Respira's first attack, Techno did not bring Kalila's physical health down. - After Respira's next attack the physical health didn't go down. Spelling and Grammar: 7.5 Comments: - Comas where they were not supposed to be or some that were needed. - Forgot commas several times, had a misuse of a comma, confusion on one sentence, some words she has as two should be one, some grammar mistakes on some sentences. - While she could understand the darkness they allowed consume them, that didn't mean she supported it. ' – Between the word consume and them there should be the word to. - Kalila was not frightened by their alleged chaos, and even though they had sold themselves to the devils below. - Sentence makes no sense. - War however was something she had yet to experience. - Should be "War, however," - Still the queen would not back down. - Comma after queen. - Send their souls to the river styx itself! - Styx should be capitalized. - She didn’t believe you got to being a Helkaer commander without some sort of fighting ability. - Should be "got to be." - Respira chuckled to Kalila’s own statement, and offered up a quip of worthy measure. - Remove comma. - she arched her neck back - Makes no sense. - Kalila lunged her head downward towards Respira’s bodice - Should just be "down." - Kalila’s ears pinned backwards - Should just be "backward." - and her mouth was coated in the commander’s blood. - Commander should be capitalized. - Instead she waited for her to get close enough, before she charged towards her in retaliation. - Comma after instead and remove the comma after enough. - Respira surprised her by reaching skyward with her front half, and nailing Kalila on the nose. - Remove the comma after half. - Kalila didn’t have time to tend to them however, - Comma after them. - Kaila- Typo. - The thick taste of iron still distracted her, - Remove the comma. - She could already feel the inflammation around her chest wound, it was burning. - Should be a semicolon. - The Bay Queen's bodice braced for an impact. - Bay should not be capitalized. - "Like any group, they had achieved great things since their foundation. At least from what she understood." Should be one full sentence. 'Like any group, they had achieved great things since their foundation, at least from what she understood.' - "He howled in excitement to her, and Kalila merely shook her head to regain her focus." Should be 'He Howled with excitement" - "Kalila hissed now, turning to face where she expected Respira to appear before her." Should be 'Kalila hissed, now turning her face..." - "She responded simply as she pulled her muscles taut in anticipation for Respira’s first attack. " -- should be "In anticipation of" not for. - "Hot pain seared along her left shoulder, and she could feel the hot blood trickle down her leg, and into the dirt. " No need for comma after 'down her leg'. - ""She’d never been one for quick foot work in battle. " - Could have used She had instead of she'd. Foot work should be one word. - "Aiming to tear a chunk out of the mid-section of her stomach rather than underneath," Midsection is one word, doesn't need hyphen. - "The taste of iron was far too strong for her to ignore, and she felt the urge to charge back in for more rise." ? Doesn't make sense, what does more rise mean? - "Instead she waited for her to get close enough, before she charged towards her in retaliation." - Should have comma after Instead - "Kalila could feel rage surge her bodice, and she knew it was time to react. " Should be 'could feel the rage surge her.." - "The Neutral Queen's teeth ripped a sizeable gash in the left side of her neck and she ...." Should be 'on the left side' - "Respira was not done, and in a similar fashion to herself, latched on to her neck. " Latched on to, onto should be one word.
Total Score: 74
Roleplayer & Character: + ebonite + with Respira Quality over Quantity: 15 Comments: - Good mentioning of Respira's wounds and how they were affecting her. - I feel both were very equal. - Respira's age was taken into account and affected her during the battle. - I did notice any errors with the flow of the post. Everything seemed to be well thought out and included a lot of information. Including a mention of her being pregnant, but no effect to the foal since it was early on. - Always taking into account the height difference between Respira and Kalila. - Taking time to have Respira calculate her next attack, weighing the pros and cons, was a nice touch. No God Modeling or Power Playing: 14 Comments: - Didn't notice any power playing. Even stated multiple options for where the attacks could land, instead of letting the reader guess. - None - She had to bite her tongue to keep herself from yelping again as the impact of the kick radiated through her injured body. - Kalila hadn't been able to respond to the attack yet. Realism of Attack: 15 Comments: - Third attack was realistic, taking into account her injured side. - All attacks seemed to be reasonable and good for a mare that is shorter than her opponent. - Realistic Attack Compared to Opponent: 14.5 Comments: - First attack was rushed and could have been written out better. - Attacks were very well thought out and corresponded with the opponent's attacks. - Seemed to have a bit more driving force behind her attacks, seemed to be the main protagonist in the battle. - Second attack was well written and easy to follow. Completion of the Form: 15 Comments: - No errors were noted in the completion of the forms. Spelling and Grammar: 8.5 Comments: - Comas where they were not supposed to be or some that were needed. - Overall, there were several areas that needed commas, and a few words should be one word instead of two. Deducted one point for several comma mistakes, 1 point for word mistakes. Otherwise posts were great. - One spelling error I noted was S before Respira's name. Something simple but it was over looked. - passing through various borders of the Free lands - Free Lands should be capitalized. - feeling blood from her scalp gash trickle down her forehead. - Should be "the blood." - but she clearly knew she was doing - Should be "what she was doing." - Attacking vulnerable parts of another’s body was most important, fight smarter, not harder. - Should be a semicolon after important. - in the side of her neck - Should be on the side of her neck. - The Neutral Queen's teeth ripped a sizeable gash in the left side of her neck - Should be "on the left side." - Either way - Comma after way. - Used 'She'd' when could have used She Had. - "She had planned on slowing to a stop as she made her attack but that notion was dismissed as the thrill of adrenaline filled her system." Should have a comma after 'made her attack' - " She continued going straight for Kalila and when she was a few feet away she bared her teeth, ready for impact. " Should have another comma after 'few feet away'. She continued going straight for Kalila and when she was a few feet away, she bared her teeth, ready for impact. - "Respira cursed under her breath and risked a glance at her knees, relieved to see that it was nothing more than minor road rash." Should be 'nothing more than a minor road rash.' - "She could not handle the bloodloss she was sustaining, however. " Bloodloss should be two words - "Her neck and head wound would make it difficult to move her head to attack with her teeth but using her legs might further aggravate the wound in her left side." Should be a comma in 'attack with her teeth, but' - "Either way she would be making a gamble, though the chances with hooves were less likely to be damaging. " Should be a comma for 'Either way, she...' - "Perhaps she would do a wrap-around and circle..." Wraparound is one word
Total Score: 82The winner is Ebon with Respira.
