Jadaan DA (Thank you ➳ T e c h n o ➳ TechDingus) When he opened his brown almost chestnut colored chasms, he could barely see his surroundings, due to the dim light of the place. The last thing that the sixteen hand, seventeen year old, dapple gray dyed, Andalusian, Arabian, Akhal-Teke, Rocky Mountain Horse and Thoroughbred crossed stallion remembered was coming face-to-face with snarling and bared teeth as a pack of feral dogs surrounded him and then launched their attack on him. He still remembered the way those fangs had sank unerringly into his flesh, but he also remembered fighting valiantly against them. This memory made him look back at himself, the marks on his shoulders and hips would become scars eventually. Then with a groan, he rolled to his stomach and then climbed to his gray knives and shook his sore chassis. Then he took a few steps to judge if there was any damage and made his way toward a nearby lake and looked at his reflection in the mirror surface. That was the ending of his life and Jadaan knew it as he looked at the torn bite on his throat. Then he really was dead then. Sighing the dappled stallion turned away from the water and paced a while, working out stiffened muscles. So he was dead, he accepted that, but he still didn't know where he was. Pacing again, the dappled stud made himself stop and he shook his ivory tresses. Then he stopped. He didn't know where he was and he meant to find out. Pacing some more, he stopped again and then called gently into the atmosphere. "Hello? Is anyone here who can help me? Where am I?" He asked and then fell silent as he walked around and kept his attention on the place around him. He didn't want to be surprised by anyone here, though he hoped that someone would hear his call. As he walked he realized that his wounds no longer dripped red. It was kind of a shock to him and he looked around again, where was he and what was this place? Shaking his ivory tresses once more he thought he heard a sound and he sent his gaze drifting about to see if he could find the source. Word Count: 370 "Speaking" Listening Notes: fleabittengray , ➳ T e c h n o ➳ . This is Jadaan's Judgment thread. He wishes to enter into the ranks of Utopia. Timeline: Right after his death and he has just accepted the fact that he is in fact dead.

Cadence had been Lord of Utopia for a little while now and things seemed to be running smoothly. For now, at least. They were getting along decently enough, trying to get to know one another in between doing their Utopia duties and raising their children. Or at least, Rasa hoped that Cadence was helping to raise the child he'd head with the Versai mare, Trinity. Rasa was very fond of the buckskin Versai Sister and her eldest son, Xovad, who was a Seer for Utopia. The first ever Seer to come into existence here in Wild Equines, to her knowledge. She kept in good contact with them, though she had to admit, it had been longer than usual since she had last seen Trinity or any of the Versai in general. She would like to fix that sometime soon. She wanted to keep in touch with the Sisterhood and form an everlasting bond with them... However, Rasa was not a fan of some of the things that did. The cleansing process was not one that she was a fan of... But Rasa also knew that sometimes, in order to get things done, you had to fight fire with fire. Thus the reason being she showed such strong support for the Versai. They did not agree on everything, Rasa herself was a Neutral and not a Light like the Sisterhood all were. Like she assumed they wanted everyone to be. It was a fine line they walked, honestly, between being Lights and being Darks. They called themselves Light extremists, or at least, that was the portrayal they gave off. Rasa had mixed feelings about it but, hey, if they were going to make Wild Equines a better place then... maybe it would all be worth it, in the end.
She was circling above the realm of Judgement, heading back to Utopia after a short journey out to the mortal realm, when she heard a distant voice calling out. "Hello? Is anyone here who can help me? Where am I?" Silence followed then and Rasa sighed, banking to the right and circling lower and lower toward the misted abyss of Judgement. Her large bay wings flapped powerfully as she descended to the ground, landing with ease a few feet away from the dappled brute that had just called out for someone, anyone, asking about where he was. Rasa folded her wings against herself, holding her head up high and proud with a gentle smile upon her maw, though as always when around a strange male, there was a wariness to her eyes. "Hello, I am Rasa, Lady of Utopia," she said calmly, hoping not to startle the brute too much. He might not know he was dead, after all. "You are in the realm of Judgement, my dear."

Jadaan wasn't sure if his call had been heard or not, but his curiosity won out and he explored what little he could in this dark, dimly lit place. Soon, a sound caught his attention and he spotted a dark shadow spiraling down to land before him. A true Angel, Angels couldn't lie, or so he had learned. A wariness seemed to settle over the mahogany mare. Jadaan's towers switched forth as lyrics drifted his way from the beautiful, graceful mare, Hello, I am Rasa, Lady of Utopia. Not just any true Angel, THE Lady of UTOPIA. Immediately Jadaan lowered his heavy skull so he was beneath Rasa as she spoke again. You are in the realm of Judgement, my dear. Judgement? So he truly was dead then, he was wondering if maybe it was a dream originally. With those lyrics though, Jadaan fully accepted that he was no longer a part of the Mortal Plane. "Greetings Mi'Lady Rasa. I am called Jadaan. Judgement you say? Then I really am passed from the realm of Mortality. I had thought so." Jadaan said gently, his skull still lowered beneath Rasa's though he shifted his almost chestnut brown chasms toward her own for just a brief moment. Then he spoke again, his voice, low, calm and gentle. "Mi'Lady, you say this is Judgement and that you are The Lady of Utopia. Seeing as I am passed from the Mortal Planes, I humbly ask if I may become a part of Utopia myself, if it is the will of Fate. And if you think I am a proper fit..." Jadaan said and fell silent again as he lowered his skull once more from the gaze of the Lady. He did wish to be an Angel if he were to actually become a living being again. He would love to be able to help others out, just like he did with his dam as a youngster. He was a protector and very loving of everyone else. He hoped that he would pass and be able to step into a realm of different beings. He could be a good Angel if he was allowed to be. Word Count: 361 "Speaking" Listening Notes: fleabittengray Here you are my love. Jadaan is hopeful that he'll be worthy of Utopia and of Rasa.

It was always a bit sad when souls called out from Judgment, wondering where they were and what had happened to them. Not everyone immediately realized that they were dead. Some equines refused to believe it at first and thought themselves to be still well and alive. She always hated to be the one that had to break the news to them but Rasa knew that it was part of her job as the Lady of Utopia. It was her job to lead souls to Utopia. Though, of course, in order to get out of Asphodel, which is where this brute would remain until he was accepted into Utopia, he would have to complete some sort of task first. It wasn't always easy coming up with a task for each individual that needed to be judged, but Rasa did her best. She wondered what this brute was going to think when she mentioned him having to complete a task in order to get into Utopia, should he wish to go there. Right now, he seemed nothing but respectful, his skull lowering in a sign of respect and submission once Rasa mentioned her title. She smiled a bit sheepishly, her ears twitching to and fro. Despite having been Lady of Utopia for many, many years now, it still sometimes took her by surprise when other equines showed her such respected - especially recently, given her lack of involvement in the war. "Greetings Mi'Lady Rasa. I am called Jadaan. Judgement you say? Then I really am passed from the realm of Mortality. I had thought so." Jadaan's head a was still lowered as he spoke and he wasn't quite looking at her, but Rasa still nodded in response to his statement, giving a small, sad, but understanding smile. "Yes, you have passed on. Do you remember how it happened?" She wasn't sure if it was something Jadaan would want to talk about, at least at the moment. If he didn't want to, she wouldn't press the issue. She was just curious, after all.
"Mi'Lady, you say this is Judgement and that you are The Lady of Utopia. Seeing as I am passed from the Mortal Planes, I humbly ask if I may become a part of Utopia myself, if it is the will of Fate. And if you think I am a proper fit..." His words were humble as he spoke. Rasa peered at the brute, studying him quietly for a moment. "Tell me about yourself, Jadaan. What are your strengths and weaknesses? What is something you are proud of, and one of your biggest regrets?" the Lady of Utopia questioned him, her tone remaining warm and friendly the entire time she spoke. "I ask this because in order to grant you entrance into Utopia, you must first complete a task that I assign you. Until then, your soul will reside in Asphodel."

At the Lady's lyrics, Jadaan lifted his gaze to her. Yes, you have passed on. Do you remember how it happened? Jadaan gave a solemn nod as he parted his muzzle to respond. "I do remember. A pack of Feral dogs. They were the ones that did it. But I didn't make it easy for them I don't think." Jadaan said to the lady and fell silent as he tipped towers toward her as she launched into a series of questions. Tell me about yourself, Jadaan. What are your strengths and weaknesses? What is something you are proud of, and one of your biggest regrets? I ask this because in order to grant you entrance into Utopia, you must first complete a task that I assign you. Until then, your soul will reside in Asphodel. He was silent a few moments as he gathered his thoughts, then he gave a soft sigh as he parted his muzzle. "I had a simple childhood, two parents that loved me deeply and wanted to protect me at all costs. We thought that the herd we joined would be what we needed. But it wasn't. The lead killed my sire when I was eighteen months old, right in front of my mother and I. Then my mother became even more protective of me. But when I was three and a half the herd killed my mother too. I tried my hardest to protect her. But I failed, at seven I knew I needed to get out of the herd." Jadaan said softly as he paused. "But despite all of that, I'm for the most part a very gentle, soft spoken, caring, loyal and protective stallion. Children make my heart sing and any youngster will happily be taken under my wing, so to say, I'm loving, playful, and enjoy the simple things in life. The quiet flow of a stream, the whisper of the wind through the trees, the songs of the birds, the gentle rainfall of a warm, Spring storm. I will race the birds and the wind every so often and occasionally I can be caught swimming." He smiled softly before his gaze darkened just a fraction as he spoke again. "But, I can also be a violent being, as the scars on my pelt can show. Fire terrifies me, ice too, canines of any kind scare me, stallions terrify me briefly. Mares do not, unless they catch me off guard. Though once one gains my trust and friendship they will forever be protected and I will be forever loyal to them. What I'm most proud of is how protective and loyal I am and how caring of any youngster that I am. My biggest regrets were being unable to protect my mother, father and myself from any kind of harm." Jadaan finished. Then for a moment he was silent and recollected his thoughts. "That is the best I can give you Mi'Lady." Jadaan said as he fell silent and awaited what she'd have to say to him after all of that. Word Count: 509 "Speaking" Listening Notes: fleabittengray Here you are love. Sorry it took so long.

Rasa waited to hear what Jadaan had to say about himself and about how he died. Of course, she could always just peer into his mind and get all of the info she wanted, everything she needed, but Rasa preferred to get all of the information she needed through whoever she was talking to saying it themselves. She felt like it helped her to understand them better, on a more complete level. When someone voices things in their own way, instead of Rasa just going into their thoughts and memories and picking through them, they were able to explain things how they truly saw it, allowing Rasa a deeper view into their persona. "I do remember. A pack of Feral dogs. They were the ones that did it. But I didn't make it easy for them I don't think." The bay angel's ears twitched back the slightest at the mention of a pack of feral dogs attacking Jaddan and she cringed slightly in understanding. That sounded like a horrible way to die. She hoped Jadaan had been able to take down at least one or two of the feral beasts before he came to his end. "I am sorry to hear that, Jadaan. That sounds like an awful way to go," she said with a sigh. Why was it that so many that died, died such terrible deaths?
When she asked him to describe himself a bit, the brute was quiet at first, seeming to be thinking of the best way to answer her questions. But I failed, at seven I knew I needed to get out of the herd." There was a pause in which Rasa quietly asked, "Have you any idea why they killed your mother and father?" It just sounded so strange, killing the parents of someone who was in your own herd. Even if they had a reason, Rasa was sure it was not a valid reason.
I will race the birds and the wind every so often and occasionally I can be caught swimming." There was a smile on Jadaan's face before his expression darkened slightly and Rasa's ears pricked forward, listening intently. My biggest regrets were being unable to protect my mother, father and myself from any kind of harm." Another moment of silence before Jadaan finished speaking, saying, "That is the best I can give you Mi'Lady."
"I think for your task, it would be good for you to help a brute in need," she spoke quietly in response, offering a kind smile. "Be it a lead stallion, or a nomad, or a colt. I want you to help them, in some way. That is your task. Whether it be finding someone they know that's missing, helping them find herd members or a herd to live in themselves, helping an orphan colt find a family. It can be anything, really."

As the dappled stallion stood before the mahogany mare, his towers tipped her way, he listened as she spoke to him. Have you any idea why they killed your mother and father? Jadaan shook his heavy skull just a little bit, "The herd changed leadership and the new masters only ever wanted to see evil and violence all around them." Then the beautiful mare was speaking to him once more, assigning him a task of sorts to gain his way to the beauty of the Afterlife. I think for your task, it would be good for you to help a brute in need, Be it a lead stallion, or a nomad, or a colt. I want you to help them, in some way. That is your task. Whether it be finding someone they know that's missing, helping them find herd members or a herd to live in themselves, helping an orphan colt find a family. It can be anything, really. As the first lyrics slipped from her muzzle, Jadaan found himself swallowing a bit harder than he would have liked, he kind of figured the task would be hard, but this, this was going to be very hard indeed. Despite his rising anxiety at the assignment, he managed to put a small, albeit warm, smile upon his muzzle as he looked to the mahogany lady. "I shall do my best to achieve this assignment Mi'Lady, and thank you for taking some time to come and visit me." Jadaan said and then fell silent as he smiled toward her once more before tipping his towers back and forth a few times before resting a hind knife and looking around himself once more. So this was where he would live until his task was completed. Dark, spooky and far too quiet. Hopefully his task would not take too long and he would know whether or not he would get to leave this place for something more beautiful. He would enjoy that. She knew that the task she had given Jaadan would not be the easiest for him, but that was the whole point of getting a task. He had to challenge himself in order to get into Utopia, to show he was willing to go above and beyond for the betterment of the realm. Rasa thought he could do it, though. He seemed sensible. He seemed like he would be able to push himself. "The herd changed leadership and the new masters only ever wanted to see evil and violence all around them." The angel frowned a bit at the words, cocking her head as she looked at Jaadan. "I'm sorry to hear that," she murmured softly, sincerely. She wanted to make all of the darkness in the world go away... but sadly, she was incapable of that. She had great power, but even her power was not great enough to stop that amount of darkness.
Rasa saw the way Jadaan gulped when she had given him his task and her frown became a gentle smile. She was challenging him, she knew, but if he needed help he was free to ask for it and she would do whatever she could. "I shall do my best to achieve this assignment Mi'Lady, and thank you for taking some time to come and visit me." With that, the Utopian Lady gave a dip of her head and smiled a little more as she lifted it back to a comfortable position. "You will do great, Jadaan. Should you need any assistance, I am here for you and will do what I can. I do hope to see you again and to be able to welcome you into Utopia." She looked around the realm of Judgment slowly, eyes scanning the dreary terrain. "Utopia needs active angels. We need strong angels. I do hope that you can join our ranks and be one of them." Rasa's words were a bit wistful as she spoke, looking back at the soul before her. "I must be going now, but I am always here if I am needed. Utopia is never far away from those that need us." She grinned softly. "Goodbye, Jadaan, until we meet again."
The angel turned away from Jadaan, unfolding her wings slowly as she walked a few steps away from him and then started to flap them, taking off into the air and disappearing into the misted darkness.
