A chilling breeze blew through the trees. The leaves dancing upon the earth twisting and turning toward a silent tune. The sun had just faded behind the trees and the night was awakening the demons and ghosts that lived to lurk in the darkness. A lone equine, a siloutte, glided slowly over the smooth and dead terrain. Her pools were of to bright emeralds, peaking out from behind tangled ebony locks. Pelt, sleek and smooth, shined beneath the light of the rising moon. In her eyes, one would see a mystery, but behind them there was pain and hatred. Something that this particular equine was not used to feeling. So she suppressed it. Yet it fought her, and she could slowly feel herself giving in to the darkest feelings she ever felt.
Her heart pulsed, Ivy could hear it. The sound almost making her sick. Why did she live when her one and only love had died. That thought had plagued her every moment since she had discovered he had passed on. Why did he have to go and leave her here alone? Then he had yet to visit her, making her feel as though their love had been nothing more than a lie. Years of loyalty down the drain. How could she of been so dense in letting him in so easily. He was Romeo though...he had a way of getting what he wanted. The quarter horse tossed her head, releasing the negative thoughts. No..she was sure that all had been real..
Maybe it was all her fault. She had spent so much time isolated from everyone else, never making any acquaintances, or something close to an ally. Ivy had preferred the company of plants, and she still admired the vegetation that she had grown up with. She had hated the drama, and all the gossip that came with associating with the other equines around her, yet she had allowed herself to get close to the most drama centered equine in the land. Romeo. The name make her ache, made her want to scream. Made her want to do things she could never imagine. Emerald pools slammed shut, squeezing tight, hoping that this would help all these dark feelings escape her. Losing control. She couldn't let herself lose control. She squealed into the night, all her anger and frustration shattering the placid night. And she didn't care who heard it.
Her breathing was rapid, and for awhile that was all she could hear. Just her breathing. Then it began to slow, and for the time being she could feel calmness come. Bright emerald pools opened. Seeing the moon kissed earth before her. The sounds of other equines moving almost silently through the shadows, probably trying to find the source of the awful cry into the silent night. It had been night such as this that she and Romeo had made their confessions. It had been a fairy tale of sorts, a love story she would of never thought to experience. Ivy hated to think it was all a lie. She hated even more that she was obsessing over a demon who obviously didn't give two shits about her. It was that thought that made her blood boil.
Forget him.
Forget everyone!
With that the chocolate hued minx took off into the night, running faster and harder than she ever had before.
