Gladiator Tournaments
The Gladiator Tournament is a rare event where equines can participate in a series of short battles to further themselves in the tournament, with the ultimate goal being victory over all.
about the tournament
1. Any individual that is over 2 years of age may participate in the tournament (only one character per roleplayer per tournament).
2. Gladiators can either sign up for the tournament to represent a herd, or themselves. Depending on who they have decided to fight for can result in different prizes.
3. Once registered, a random number generator will be used to determine who fights who. After the first round, winners will advance to fight winners, and losers will advance to fight losers. You are out of the tournament should at any point you lose two battles (double knock-out elimination).
4. Gladiators will not be paired against an opponent they have already fought, unless there is not enough remaining gladiators left to ensure there are no repeat battles.
5. Gladiators know their opponent's names but nothing else, unless they have met them at a prior time IC.
6. A staff member will make the first post of the battle, using a provided form. Within this post they will describe who is fighting who, the landscape, and the climate. This is the intro post - the gladiators will commence their fight immediately from that point (unlike regular battles where one equine enters and waits for the other to arrive).
7. All battles are fought with the rules 3 attacks, 1 dodge, 3 days to reply. There will be no extensions given out, no exception. As these are meant to be shorter, quicker battles, the maximum word count is 800 words.
8. Upon finishing a battle, two chosen judges will fill out the provided judging form and state who is the winner. The next battle pairs will be posted following the completion of the round. As per our regular battle rules, judging is to be done anonymously. All of our judges have gone through training in regards to how judging and scoring should be done.
9. If a battle has been won by default (ie. the opponent either retires or is eliminated due to failing to post during the time limit), for IC sake, it will be written out as if the battle was completed. The remaining gladiator will be assigned injuries they received from the battle from a staff member, decided upon via RNG. The numbers are as follows:
prizes
Subject to change
1st place
2nd place
3rd place
Participation in the tournament awards you 20,000 WE points.
For every round you are able to advance in, you will also be awarded an extra 50,000 WE points.
