When was the last time that he had wandered the tranquil meadows that formed Eden? Surely, it hadn't been for several years. Even that in itself was an interesting concept to consider - being now in his fourth year of life, this meant that he had held his crown for two years. He had ruled with Queen Orel for one. Time was fleeting, escaping his grasp - but he refused to fall behind. His last visit to these serene fields had been one of business and purpose - and today, his presence here was for similar intentions. He sought different company, this time around... Needing to speak to someone of importance, needing to clear the air. Times were changing within Wild Equines. Threat and chaos loomed, with whispers promising war. Like it or not, if war did come to pass, there was no way that Avinash's kingdom would be able to stay immune from the feuding. He would be forced to make a choice, an imperative one. Tonight was not the time to make that decision hastily, but rather, a time to gather more information. To determine whether the whispers he had been hearing were true. To attempt to discern whether the peril that was approaching was that of reality, or whether those who spread the word were speaking untruths.
As far as he was aware, he would not be able to speak to Lord Nehemiah. From what Queen Orel had relayed to him, Lord Nehemiah was still missing - the most likely perpetrators being the Underworld. It was for that reason that Avinash intended on speaking with Lady Rasa, and her alone. He had had more dealings with Rasa than he had with her ruling counterpart anyway, and likely would feel more comfortable speaking with her even if the heavenly king was capable of presenting himself. The sun was setting upon the plains, casting a golden light upon the already richly coloured earth. The gentlest of breezes floated over those gathered, tugging at them ever so gently. It pulled Avinash's ebony and alabaster tassels just so, leaving individual strands flittering in the warm air. The bay tobiano stepped lightly through the grasses, the verdure tickling his lower limbs as he did so. His verdigris optics traversed smoothly over his surroundings, and he drank in the sights of equines both mortal and deceased, conversing with one another. This truly was an impeccable place. It was too bad he did simply spend more time here enjoying the placidity it offered, and instead, he seemed to find himself always here with difficult conversations to be had.
He halted near a bubbling creek, certain to stand quite some distance away from any of the other equines present. He did not want their conversation to be heard by the wrong ears. Then, lifting his achromatic dial, he called out, "Lady Rasa, I wish to speak with you."

See I gotta haunt you, I gotta bring you to my hell
War. What was it good for? It brought death. It brought destruction. It tore families and friendships apart. Rasa was well aware of what would happen if it came down to war, but now... what other choice did she have? She was going to have to make an attempt at talking to Xerxes and Teca, but after so long, they were bound to just laugh in her face and mock her. Should she have gone to them sooner? Probably, but she had... sort of panicked. And that panic was getting her nowhere. She had to stop reacting and start thinking about her actions and how they would all affect everyone else around her. Affect the mortals. She had been going to the mortal realm often this past year, but never staying long enough to weaken herself. She was on high alert. She knew what was coming for her. She knew who was coming for her. She held two children of Xerxes in Utopia. Xerxes wouldn't let her get away with that - she was just confused as to why there had been no reaction from the Devil. What was he planning? Anything? Or was she slowly driving herself insane while the Underworld laughed at their expense? Was she going to lead the angels to damnation? Was it worth it, to keep hope alive? To get her Lord back?
Heaving a heavy sigh, Rasa stood within the realm of Utopia, gazing down into a pool of water. The surface was still and crystal clear. Colorful rocks littered the bottom of the pool, radiant. Beautiful. They made her want to weep because the colors reminded her of Nehemiah and his jewels. She missed him. She felt she'd let him down severely. She was never going to be able to gain back his trust. Would he even be fit to lead, once he returned? How long would it take him to recover from being in the Underworld for so long? So many questions that she didn't have the answer to. That she may never have the answers to. She could feel the dark veil of depression threatening to engulf her... but the Lady of Utopia was trying so hard to stay strong, to be a good leader, to not let those that believed in her down...
"Lady Rasa, I wish to speak with you." A summons from Eden. Rasa stared into the pool for another moment before she unfolded her wings and lifted off into the heavens, the flapping of her wings stirring the surface of the water. It continued to ripple as she flew away in the direction of Eden, using her powers to pinpoint the location of the caller before they were stripped away from her as she entered the territory. She circled above the area, searching for the Neutral King, and once she spotted him she landed a few feet behind him. Wings folding against her sides, Rasa looked around for any potential signs of demons - a habit she had picked up since Nehemiah's kidnapping - and approached the King. "Hello, Avinash. How can I help you today?" she asked, trying to sound cheerful. To sound polite. When really, she felt rundown and weary.

As per his usual experiences with Lady Rasa, she was attentive to his needs, and did not waste his time in waiting to answer his call. Shortly after he had released his ask to the skies, did the familiar sight of the bay pegasus take shape, soaring in the azure above. She landed before him gracefully, and she tucked her wings at her side. He imagined this took quite a bit of practice, managing additional limbs that were so massive. He could not help but notice the way that she glanced around her, and Avinash was unsure of what she was looking for - did she question his intentions? Wondering if he had not come alone? That seemed odd - he had never given her reason to doubt himself or his intentions, after all. After she returned her attention to him, he was presented with the question, "Hello, Avinash. How can I help you today?" Her words were cheerful, but there was fatigue behind her eyes. Avinash's heart went out to the woman. He rather felt bad he was bothering her with his own concerns, considering the troubles she was likely enduring. He would have to endeavour to not keep her here for long, then - and certainly not waste her time. "Lady Rasa, thank you for meeting me. I'm sure you find yourself rather busy these days... All things considered." This was of course in reference to Nehemiah's disappearance, for as far as he was aware, the Lord had not returned to Utopia. "I had hoped, if you had a moment, to induldge me in simple conversation. I've heard some whispers, some rumours stirring within the lands, and, well... I had hoped to speak with you about them, to hear if they were true." He scrunched his face slightly as he considered the feuding, and the path it seemed to be taking. "As I understand, unfortunately, the tensions between Utopia and the Underworld onl seemt o be growing..."
He was hesitant on war. He had never lived through one himself, but that was not saying much, considering how young he was. But considering the experiences that his parents and his sister had been through, he was well-versed in the histories of the wars that had happened the most recently in Wild Equines. He had been born not too long after the Helkaer occupation within the Neutral Kingdom had ended... The result of a war of which his family had been largely involved in. His mother had been queen at the time, and had been one of the two royals at the head of the Neutral Kingdom who had proclaimed war. His father had been a mainland leader, and had been used as a pawn by the Helkaer - taken and held captive, owed to his connection to the Queen. His half-sister had been an advisor to the royals, and supported them as best as she could - even taking a large role in the battles, despite not being far from the most experienced skirmisher. From their stories, it was not a path that Avinash was keen to tread down. He could not say either that it was something that he would entirely refuse to participate in, either. Despite the discomfort that it gave him, he did not want to be a king that was regarded as a pushover. That meant that if push came to shove and his kingdom was challenged, and he needed to step up to protect it... He would do it. And then, what did that mean for if those he cared about outside of the kingdom, or those who had previously helped him, went to war themselves? Well, again, despite his aversion to it... He would have a hard time standing by. After all, what was the point of others helping him, if he would not help in return? What kind of a man would that make him?

See I gotta haunt you, I gotta bring you to my hell
These days, the Lady of Utopia was feeling more and more on edge. She felt like she was wound too tightly, ready to explode at any given point in time. She wanted to barge into the Underworld and demand her Lord back. To take him back. But she had also seen the way Utopia had weakened and ravaged Xerxes when he'd come barreling in after Akroma after Rasa had stolen the former Lady of the Underworld and while she did not know how long it had taken him to recover, she imaged it must have taken some time, and Rasa could not afford to let herself become weakened when Nehemiah would already be so weak. It would take a long time for her Lord to recover, she was sure of it. Physically, he would eventually be fine... but mentally... the bay angel wondered if he would truly be mentally and emotionally fit to lead Utopia anymore. The thought frightened her. She had only just gotten her Lord... and things had been going so well... But of course, things just had to go up in flames...
The Neutral King speaking brought her out of her dark thoughts, a soft and quiet sigh escaping her before she could help it. "Lady Rasa, thank you for meeting me. I'm sure you find yourself rather busy these days... All things considered." Her lips twitched, unable to decide if they wanted to smile or frown at the statement. Avinash wasn't wrong. Rasa had been busy. She was worried what was going to come, in the future. The very near future, she imagined. She knew it could only lead to one thing if Nehemiah was not returned. "It has been rather busy, but I will always make time for those who need me." Her voice was still polite and warm, kind as always, but there was a hint of sadness to it as well. Rasa was always making time for others... when was it her turn to have someone make time for her?
"I had hoped, if you had a moment, to induldge me in simple conversation. I've heard some whispers, some rumours stirring within the lands, and, well... I had hoped to speak with you about them, to hear if they were true." She noted the slight scrunching of his face at the idea of war and Rasa's ears flickered back and then forward once more. She felt the same about violence but sometimes violence was a necessity, unfortunately. "As I understand, unfortunately, the tensions between Utopia and the Underworld only seem to be growing..." Rasa gave a solemn nod of admittance. "Yes, I will not lie to you, Avinash. Things are not looking very peaceful at the moment." Her feathers ruffled along her wings then and she snorted quietly. "Nehemiah is still in the clutches of the Underworld, and I fear what will happen if he is trapped there much longer."

While Rasa was attentive to his presence, it also felt as though she was far away. He imagined that her mind was preoccupied with so many things - organizing and dedicating herself to the search for Nehemiah must have been a trial in itself, let alone being expected to look after the entirety of the heavens without aid. It was for that reason that when she offered a soft sigh, despite there not being an obvious reason for it, that Avinash let it be - the Lady likely did not need the Neutral King pressing her for information on her feelings, as much as it would have come from a thoughtful, caring place. ”It has been rather busy, but I will always make time for those who need me.” She stated politely. It was kind that despite her enduring so much, she sacrificed herself for others. That was likely one of the attributes that made her such a good Lady of Utopia. ”That is generous of you.” Avinash complimented her sincerely, still feeling slightly guilty that he was taking her time.
In response to his comments regarding the rising strain across the territories, he was met with a rather somber nod. ”Yes, I will not lie to you, Avinash. Things are not looking very peaceful at the moment.” But of course - would the Underworld handle it any other way? To be quite frank, he was surprise that when he had met with the hellish leaders himself, and declined a potential alliance with them, that he had been allowed to leave without consequence. Lord Xerxes and Lady Mictecacihuatl were very intimidating, powerful individuals… So he could only imagine what their wrath might be like when they did not get their way. Perhaps in his situation, it was only because an alliance had been offered, but not necessarily desired, that their conversation had ended harmoniously. After all, he could not imagine that the Neutral Kingdom had anything to offer the Underworldians in return that they might want… And if there was nothing they wanted, then what was the point of offering themselves and their efforts? A guise, perhaps. ”Nehemiah is still in the clutches of the Underworld, and I fear what will happen if he is trapped there much longer.” The winged goddess explained, her feathers ruffling mesmerizingly at her side. ”No good.” The Neutral King could not help but mutter quietly, wishing things were different. Lifting his gaze to meet the auburn hold of Rasa, he then told her, ”I haven’t entirely been in the same situation… But I had someone attack my ruling partner, too. While Laqueta was never taken, she was still assaulted.” He had hated that this had happened to Laqueta, that he had not protected her. ”I remember feeling helpless when it happened. But I also remember the feeling of great need to do something after… To make sure it did not happen again. To show that the actions of those involved were unacceptable.” He had, with the aid of others, hunted down the assailant. But while it had not been Avinash himself who ensured that Hound had been punished for his actions, he had assured that Hound’s vile aggression had not gone without discipline - instead, it having been handed to him at the doing of the Dark Royals. ”I imagine, despite your desire to simply have Nehemiah back, you must want to prove to the Underworld that they can’t do this to you.” His statements were made, but his look was questioning - wondering if this was indeed how Lady Rasa felt. Because if it was, he got it. Continuing on, he inquired of her, ”I’ve heard rumors… Rumors that this might lead to war. That that is the inevitable path. Do you think that might happen?”

x RASA After being Lady of Utopia for as long as she had been, Rasa had seen many Lords and Ladies of the Underworld come and go. She had seen them wreck havoc only to disappear into nothingness. She wondered when it would be Utopia's time for greatness - which in her eyes, would be a time of peace and prosperity for all, not just a single Kingdom or alliance. One day, perhaps even the Versai and the Helkaer would see eye to eye. At least for a moment. And then Wild Equines could breathe out a sigh of relief and everything would be peaceful and relaxed. Was that such a bad thing to want, for mortals and immortals alike? Why were so many convinced that she was the bad guy in some way? ”That is generous of you.” She grinned a little, a deep sadness in her eyes for a moment. "I know what it is like to have no one, so I try to make sure I am here whenever I am needed. It's the least I can do." A glimpse into her past. Lonely and broken. Rasa wondered what Avinash truly thought of her. Was he another one that thought she was weak, selfish, cowardly - or whatever other lies that Xerxes was spewing about her? What was his relationship like with the Underworld? Given the chance, would he decide to align with them inside of with her? Rasa didn't understand the draw to the Underworld and demons and darkness... She had been destroyed by that darkness, or at least, by someone who had been trapped within it. ”No good.” At least they could agree on that. ”I haven’t entirely been in the same situation… But I had someone attack my ruling partner, too. While Laqueta was never taken, she was still assaulted.” As a mare that had been assaulted herself, in various ways, Rasa felt nothing but sympathy for Laqueta. "That must have been devastating, for the both of you. Has she recovered well?" She would have to make it a point to try and speak with Laqueta personally, somewhere along the line. ”I remember feeling helpless when it happened. But I also remember the feeling of great need to do something after… To make sure it did not happen again. To show that the actions of those involved were unacceptable.” The Lady's jaw clenched and a fire came to her eyes as she nodded, rage within her. ”I imagine, despite your desire to simply have Nehemiah back, you must want to prove to the Underworld that they can’t do this to you.” Avinash continued on, ”I’ve heard rumors… Rumors that this might lead to war. That that is the inevitable path. Do you think that might happen?” A deep sigh but Rasa would not deny it. "Yes, Avinash, I do believe it will come to war. And I think it's been a long time coming. The Underworld has gone unchecked and unchallenged for years. Something's gotta give eventually..."aliyaah w/ Avinash 501 | RasaSorry for the wait! <3 19 years 9 months, late winter, mid-day?, after TF is accepted into Utopia

Avinash did not know the extent of Rasa's history as Lady of Utopia, and so while he was familiar with the fact that she had had several ruling partners previously, he did not know just how many. He did not know how many times she had lost her associate, and how hard she had had to work to piece back together the ranks in order to keep Utopia in check. If he had, he would have felt much, much worse for the winged woman. He had already learned how difficult it was to rule alone, and the trials of trying to find a replacement while maintaining a facade of strength. To have to endure such hardships time and time again, especially during times as critical as now? It was almost unimaginable. "I know what it is like to have no one, so I try to make sure I am here whenever I am needed. It's the least I can do." The mighty creature commented, her selflessness clear. She was grinning at him, but he could tell that there was a remorse within her, deep down. He offered her an honest smile in return, telling her politely, "And I hope you know how much individuals like me appreciate that kind of effort and dedication. Thank you, Rasa."
"That must have been devastating, for the both of you. Has she recovered well?" Avinash was surprised that Rasa's inquiry, although innocent, caught him somewhat off-guard. Why was that, however? Perhaps it was because upon initial inspection, she had recovered decently. At least, that was the physical recovery. The wounds had healed, the bruises had lessened and now could no longer be seen. But all in all... While Laqueta put on a brave face, Avinash felt as though there was something deep down that had broken, that could not be repaired. The bold, steadfast, yet kind woman who had once stood beside him... There was something within her that had dimmed. An emotional pain that had not yet recuperated. He hadn't realized how his pale facade had transitioned into one of remorse, and once he did, he knew it was too late to hide it. But neither did he feel as though he had to keep this fact from Rasa. After all, she had been nothing but a friend to him, and to the Neutral Kingdom. She had proved before that she cared about the well-being of his monarchy, so he could imagine that she would be sorry to hear about Laqueta. So, genuinely, he told her, "While her wounds have healed, I don't believe she will quite ever be the same..." There was a tone of regret within his vocals. He wondered if, and he hoped that, she would one day be the vibrant and courageous individual she had once been. But some wounds cut so deep that the could never be healed.
The rumours that had been spread about the potential impending war had been so frequent that the Neutral King was not surprised by Lady Rasa's response... Though he had hoped, nonetheless, that it would not be the case. "Yes, Avinash, I do believe it will come to war. And I think it's been a long time coming. The Underworld has gone unchecked and unchallenged for years. Something's gotta give eventually..." The elegant woman told him with a sorrowful sigh, a sound which Avinash repeated. "That's what I feared." He commented, vocals serious. "I fear for the state of my kingdom, should the heavens and hell come to clash. There's no way that such a feud can unfold without us becoming involved, in one way or another."

x RASA TW: Mentions of slavery, assault, murder Rasa knew there were rumors about her. She had been around for so long, how could there not be? She knew that there was more support for the Underworld at this time than for Utopia. Honestly, to her, it felt like the residents of Wild Equine would rather support the demons and chaos, either that, or just have nothing to do with the Afterlife in general. And how could she blame them, when her angels were hardly as active as she begged them to be? No one was helping their cause, or so it felt. She was just one being and could only do so much before she was buried beneath the burden of the world. Rasa wanted peace, but unfortunately, peace had to be fought for. "And I hope you know how much individuals like me appreciate that kind of effort and dedication. Thank you, Rasa." She gave a feeble smile at the comment, wanting to believe him, but it was just so hard to believe she and Utopia were appreciated when there was so much disregard, or even outright hatred, for her and her angels. "I appreciate that, Avinash." She thanked him regardless, because she did, at least, believe that Avinash was appreciative of her. Perhaps she could even go so far as call him a friend. She liked the youthful King and it had nothing to do with her being biased, considering she herself was a Neutral. Avinash just had a kind and genuine personality. He was a good leader, too, from what she had seen thus far. Talking of Laqueta's attack brought forth memories of her own attacks, and of her enslavement. An enslavement that had led to her eventual murder, after years of torment by the doing of her captor. Antichrist, had been his name, ironically enough. She had spent several years as his slave, nothing more than a punching bag, force to bare him two children. Two daughters, one of which still lived in Wild Equines. The other she believed to have died. "While her wounds have healed, I don't believe she will quite ever be the same..." The words broke her heart and her eyes seemed to water for a moment, though the tears never spilled. "We rarely ever are, after a trauma like that," she answered, her tone honest and soft - again, hinting at her own traumatic past. It was not something she spoke about often because, even after all of these years, it still pained her to think of it. Dravos and Antichrist both her traumatized her in such ways that not even Utopia's Grace would fix her. She was damaged. And yet, here she was, ready to lead Utopia into a war that they very well might not win. More trauma would follow, for herself and for others, but it was a necessary evil. "That's what I feared." The King's tone was serious as he spoke, and Rasa wondered if he may proclaim himself as an enemy now, knowing what was coming. She hoped not. "I fear for the state of my kingdom, should the heavens and hell come to clash. There's no way that such a feud can unfold without us becoming involved, in one way or another." It was a valid fear, and not one that she would in good faith deny. "Whatever happens, Avinash, know this - I wish no harm on you and your Kingdom. It is the Kingdom I owned lands in and lived in for many years. I am, and have always been, of the Neutral alliance - despite what some might say." A subtle twitch of her tail, a sign of annoyance at what some said about her (mainly, Xerxes). "I honestly want nothing but peace for all the Kingdoms, for all that live in the realm of Wild Equines, as well as for the Afterlife, but sometimes peace is not achievable unless we fight for it."aliyaah w/ Avinash 652 | Rasanotes 19 years 9 months, late winter, mid-day?, after TF is accepted into Utopia

Rasa was appreciative of Avinash's sentiment, even if his gratitude could not be used in ways that was likely useful to her. "I appreciate that, Avinash." She told him, seemingly genuinely. It wasn't that he wouldn't do what he could to support her... But one had to admit that his support was limited, considering he was restricted to the mortal realm, and probably the majority of her dealings were in dominions beyond his reach. Sure, he could spread word of her down here, attempt to garner support... But in reality? His time more so needed to be spent looking after his own kingdom, ruling it. So sure, they might be friends. And he would support her as best as a friend could. But he couldn't say that he would make the most useful of allies, try as he might.
"We rarely ever are, after a trauma like that," Rasa said wisely, regarding Laqueta's assault. He winced, considering Rasa was confirming the horror that he knew to be true. He couldn't help but wonder if Laqueta had never become queen, if she wouldn't have had to endure what she did by Hound. Had it been her royal position that had drawn him to her? Or had it just been coincidence that he had happened upon her, and what with Laqueta's rather trusting, welcoming persona.... He shuddered. He despised that this had happened to her. He wondered if he too, one day, might face something so atrocious - another individual wishing to cause him harm because of the crown. Based on the stories he knew from not only within his own kingdom, but what had happened to the kings and queens of other monarchies as well, he had to assume that this was inevitable. Whether he might be able to fend off such an incursion was still a question unanswered, however. Still grim, Avinash commented simply, "A fate I would wish on no one." It was one thing to have to live through such a violation. It was another to have to lose one's sense of self because of it, too.
"Whatever happens, Avinash, know this - I wish no harm on you and your Kingdom. It is the Kingdom I owned lands in and lived in for many years. I am, and have always been, of the Neutral alliance - despite what some might say." Who would speak against her alliance? Perhaps she might seem more light-aligned than neutral, but Avinash certainly wouldn't have questioned this proclamation. He assumed the only ones who would would be those who wished to speak ill of the lady. "I honestly want nothing but peace for all the Kingdoms, for all that live in the realm of Wild Equines, as well as for the Afterlife, but sometimes peace is not achievable unless we fight for it." He nodded in agreement to her sentiment, mind buzzing with thoughts as his dial bobbed. "I understand." He confirmed to her, both in terms of wanting there to be serenity across the lands, but as well, knowing that sometimes these things were not gained without hardships... If they could even be gained at all. Was there even a chance of such a thing? If the heavens went to war against hell, to what end would that be? Would one defeat the other, and take control? Were they able to do that? Or would they wipe one another out? Were they able to do that? Would a potential victory only be short-lived, only long enough for the losing side to gain momentum once more, to continue the strife? Was there even a point? Concerned, Avinash raised his inquisitive gaze towards Rasa, and asked of her, "Do you believe that there will be peace if the Underworld was vanquished? Is such a thing even possible?"

x RASA Death for her had not been peaceful. It had not been easy. She had fought to to the bitter end, always hoping for some miracle, for some way out of the nightmare hellscape she had been forced to call home. No one had heard her prayers for help, for salvation. Nothing had been done to save her from Antichrist. She'd suffered for years, giving him two daughters, one of which still roamed Wild Equines but she had not contacted since her death. She had kept and eye on Velvet Massacre, however. She kept an eye on all of her mortal family, even if she did not speak with them. She still tried to make sure they were safe and sound. With war looming, she dared not go visit any of her family, for fear of them being discovered that they were related to her. She would not put it past Xerxes to hunt down her family members one by one just to break her. "A fate I would wish on no one." A nod of agreement as the words of the King broke her out of her thoughts, a quiet sigh released from the winged mare. "No, I would not wish that fate even on my greatest enemy." There were horrors in the world that no one should have to experience, not even those of sick and evil ways. "I understand." She tried her best to offer Avinash a smile, but it was flat, her eyes dull. She seemed in that moment so very tired, exhausted, even, despite lacking a need for sleep. Though she did not sleep, Rasa still dreamed. She dreamed of a time where Wild Equines could live in relative harmony and peace and not be at each other's throats every damn second. "Do you believe that there will be peace if the Underworld was vanquished? Is such a thing even possible?" She heard the concern in his voice. She did not know what best answer to give to quell his anxieties. She would only speak the truth. "No," she neighed, "If the Underworld was eradicated, I am sure something or someone else would rise up in their place." She paused, eying the Neutral King warily, wondering how he would react to what she was saying. "I believe there always needs to be both good and evil in the world. You cannot have one without the other. Life would be too unbalanced. It is only natural to have both purity and darkness, even within ourselves."Rasa ruffled her wings against her sides gently, looking up at the trees around them. Eden was so pretty and serene. She wished everywhere was like this. "In the moment, I may want to destroy the Underworld for all they've down to myself, to Utopia, and to Wild Equines as a whole, but in reality, I know they are a... necessary evil. I just want us all to coexist."aliyaah w/ Avinash 487 | Rasanotes 19 years 9 months, late winter, mid-day?, after TF is accepted into Utopia
