Jaina was born one of many “spares” per say to the King and Queen of a her that resided on a beautiful and sought after island. Her siblings all light in color and in strong resemblance of her mother, Jaina was no different. They were a beautiful family, and even though Jaina herself never stood a chance of taking over the crown, she still sowed many benefits from being their little princess. Many days were spent being swooned over by members of the herd, and never did she ever have to deal with needing anything, as anything she could have possibly needed was readily handed to her. She loved her siblings dearly and spent countless days wrestling with her brothers. It got to a point where she was excessively pestering them to play and they grew tired of her antics. That’s when things got really boring for her. Jaina began following other members of the herd, always asking questions about strange plants and animals she saw, questions about the things in the sky and things she heard. She just wanted to know everything there was to know. Before long she was spending the majority of her time hanging out with the guards, even sweet talking some of them into sparring with her when she was a yearling. That was about the point when mother and father started getting concerned about her choice in activities. Still, they never stopped her, probably too bothered with their duties in the herd to stop and discipline her. Her and her siblings started to grow apart at this point as their interests began to change. Even her older brother, who could afford to learn a thing or two when it came to fighting, didn’t involve himself in her games. That was fine by her though, she always had other horses to bother. Many of her parents guards and warriors quickly grew fond of Jaina and didn’t mind using down time to show her new tricks, or help strengthen skills she already had. Something about the adrenaline of a battle drew her in and kept her coming back. Once she was two she was of a size and skill level that the other equines she trained with weren’t going easy on her anymore, which she found very fun. It took a while of bothering her parents about it but they eventually agreed to let her do rounds with the guards and help keep the border secure. She quite enjoyed having a job, finally feeling like she had a purpose, and her parents agreed probably because Jaina really wasn’t of any actual value to them. She had three brothers and they were the only ones that were going anywhere in their eyes. Waking up before dawn every single day, Jaina walked the border over and over, though it sounded boring it was the best part of her days. Once she hit three, the onslaught of questions regarding her finding a mate began. Her mother and father set her up multiple times to meet with young stallions from neighboring herds and things just fell apart, honestly. She got sick of it, couldn’t stand the thought of finding a partner at that point in life. It was just all a huge scuff between her and her mother over it as her mother couldn’t wrap her head around why Jaina was taking such a different path, especially when she had so many things granted to her that others would find to be a blessing. In the midst of this straining their relationship, a stray stallion managed to get past Jaina and take her brother. Jaina ended up banged up pretty bad, and her parents took away all of her responsibilities as a guard. This was what finally pushed her to leave the herd. She took off and hasn’t yet looked back, has been spending her days amongst free lands just wandering and trying to discover herself. She was very guilt ridden from the experience, not sure if she felt worse about getting her brother taken or the fact that she just left everyone behind.
