These are the rules of Utopia, they must be followed by all who live here. Breaking them will result in banishment to Asphodel and your chances of return to Utopia are slim to none.
1. Respect the Lord and Lady. Their word is law. You may voice your opinions to your Lord and Lady and make suggestions and requests, but please know that their word is final.
2. The ranks are listed in order of power. Respect those who outrank you but do not use your rank to boss others around. Power must not be abused.
3. Do not bring anybody from Asphodel or the Underworld through the gates of Utopia. To gain entrance to paradise is a powerful blessing, approved only by the Lord and/ or Lady. The punishment for bringing an unapproved outsider into the Summerland is exile.
4. Angels will grow weak the longer they are away from Utopia. Stronger/higher-ranked angels are able to stay away longer without weakening or risking damage.
Lord & Lady - 3 months
Seraphim & Cherubim - 2 months
Ophanim & Dominions - 1 month
Principalities - 2 weeks
Malakhim - 3 days
Bene Elohim (under 2yrs) - 1 day
Once an angel has reached their limit, they will become too weak to be able to come back to Utopia on their own. They will have to call for another angel to help them back to Utopia. Any angel that governs a Virtue may stay out as long as the Lord and Lady.
5 Angels may choose one of the following options. Angels with certain ranks may perform miracles in addition to one other ability from the list below. So at maximum, an Angel of a higher rank may have 3 abilities at any given time, otherwise, an Angel may only possess 2 abilities.
Angels ranked at Beta, Seraphim, Cherubim, Ophanim, Dominion, or is a Leader of a Virtue:
» Give out miracles
All other ranks have these two abilities
» Positively influence emotions of those surrounding them temporarily (in the current thread they are in)
» Heal a sick equine (only in the current thread they are in)
6. Souls are very, very important to Utopia, and may be used to secure large blessings or miracles that may not usually be possible. They are not considered currency by the Utopian host, but rather precious treasures, promising a new angel upon the death of the mortal. The Host, particularly the Lord and Lady, will do a great deal to secure the safety of such souls, and to win them back should they be stolen by the Underworld. Souls are kept indefinitely, unless the mortal commits a grave sin, corrupting the soul and rendering it worthy of only the Underworld.
7. If an angel were to end up in Hell, no matter their rank, they will grow weak and ill in a matter of minutes. The same goes for demons who enter Utopia.
8. If you have a frozen Utopian character, you cannot play them anywhere without completing a thread (3 posts each) with the Lord or Lady.
Lord & Lady: Leaders of Utopia, they rule this land and have the final say on anything that pertains to Utopia.
Seraphim: The highest ranking angels, usually ones that have been in Heaven the longest. They can go for longer periods of time outside of Utopia without growing weak. Their main job is to help the mortals or to speak to them at times when the Lord and Lady cannot. They can also assist in miracles.
Cherubim: Typically mares, these angels mainly welcome new souls to Utopia, especially souls of children who are confused as to what has happened to them. If a spirit that resides in Purgatory is invited to reside within Utopia, these are the angels that bring them home.
Ophanim: These are typically considered the warriors of Utopia. If there is a time where a mortal needs Utopia to fight for them, and the Lord or Lady are not able to, one of the Ophanim will fight instead.
Dominions: Guardian angels. These individuals will be assigned to a herd and, in rarer cases, to a specific equine. They are required to know as much about those they are assigned to as possible. They may choose never to make themselves known, at their preference. They can decrease health defects of foals born in that herd or, if they are guarding an individual, for any foal produced by that individual, even if the herd/individual does not know they are being guarded. Just have sure to mention it in foal stats and link to this thread! For those guarding herds, they are also allowed to block one character from that herd, even if the herd is unaware that they are being guarded. They may not participate in battles or challenges, however.
Principalities: If someone requires a blessing and the Lord and Lady do not have time to give it out, these are the angels that handle them. They must have permission from the Lord and Lady before giving any miracles. If this rule is broken, they will most likely fall from grace and not be allowed back in Utopia.
Malakhim: Simple angels that have not been given specific jobs. This is where all angels start. A different rank may be given should the Lord and Lady see fit for it to be done. They are free to leave Utopia but will get weaker quicker than the other ranks.
Bene Elohim: These are the youth of Utopia. Anyone under the age of 2 will fall into this category.
Seven Heavenly Virtues: A series of sub-groups within Utopia, giving angels duties and focus beyond their general rank. Ranks within the Virtues do not supersede normal rankings. Each Virtue is made up of 7 members best suited to its ideals and goals. Whereas angelic ranks can be moved through with relative ease, joining a Virtue is semi-permanent and can be changed only once. Details on the Virtues and how to join can be found in a separate thread.
