x DUCHESS It had all been explained to her, in very simple terms since she was still quite young. The lands were having what was called a war, and herself and the other Ghosts were all supporters of the Underworld. In order to help the Underworld win the war, the Ghosts had to go out and cause chaos and recruit new members. Since she was still very young and unmarked (meaning she'd not yet gone through the training required to receive the pentagrams on her shoulders), it was her job to go to Rain Forest Beach and do... something. She had spent the last month in the Free Lands with her mother, making sure the scent of The Whore House was free from her pelt. The last week she'd spent all on her own, lingering just outside the borders of the Light Kingdom so that she wouldn't get lost finding her way back to the King and Queen's realm. Her mother's scent was faded from her. It could be assumed that something had happened to her mother. In fact, she had been instructed to say something awful, something terrible, had happened to her mother and that was why she was here, alone, at such a vulnerable age. The lines of the concepts of right and wrong were dreadfully, horribly blurred for the filly. After all, being raised as a Satan worshipper, destined to wreck havoc far and wide, would do that to a girl. She had been told she would have been sent here with her twin brother, had he not gone missing. Lost. A failure to make it through the Ghost initiation process. That was the last time she had seen him. Now, he was nothing but a faint memory. She did not seem too bothered by the fact, either, that she was here alone. In fact, there was something peculiar about the striped child. Something... odd. She wasn't quite flat effect, but her eyes seemed... somehow dull. She wasn't smiling, not quite frowning, but the expression on her face seemed like she was trying to have no expression at all. This was, of course, also strategically planned by Lord Ghost, unknown to herself. It was going to be easy enough to believe she had been through something traumatic, with the way she spoke and her facial expressions. In reality, it was just because she had started her training (just barely) to start controlling her emotions - to get rid of them, more or less. Most of the Ghosts had trained themselves to become obedient robots when it came to Lord Ghost, and especially with the Lord and Lady of Hell. Evening was approaching as she crossed the border of Rain Forest Beach. She was tired. The sun was setting and the recently weaned filly did her best not to yawn, struggling and failing to conceal it. She sighed afterward, her weary steps carrying her through the rainforest and out more toward the open shore. Hopefully, someone would find her and she could do whatever it was she was supposed to do here. Lord Ghost hadn't been specific. She supposed she would know once it happened! Open to any Rain Forest Beach herd members 524 | DuchessA baby Ghost here to cause some chaos. Tagging A z z y and Roman for visibility! I don't have a plot/idea in mind, the Ghosts are just trying to get the Underworld to win the war in whatever ways possible so the Ghosts will be popping up all over... if anyone wants to join them... lemme know <-< 7 months, late summer, early evening

Silence had taken hold of Rain Forest Beach once more, other than the usual sounds of course, the crashing of the waves and the calls of birds that called this place home. The coronation had just been and gone, and while it had gone well at first, it seemed to Lights could never have a moment to be truly happy. What had occurred caused a mix of emotions and the new King found it hard to unwind after such an event, yet he found comfort in knowing his Mother and stepfather were back in their home and starting their long recovery process. A heavy sigh escaped the chimeric cambion as he released the deep salty breath he had taken in, trying to ground himself using his senses to bring calm back to his being. Hunroor looked out across the ocean with his one amethyst pool, deep in contemplation before little footsteps came into his hearing range, as his friend came to join him. No one knew of his little Capybara friend yet, other than Shetani, Evania and Lexi, being careful to keep the creature well hidden during this time of war. To have anything happen to Beppe would be a deep blow, as the draft stallion considered the large Rodent a member of his family.
Beppe came up and touched his muzzle to Hunroor's leg gently, his dark eyes which seemed so full of wisdom looked up at the Light King before turning his head in the direction of something small heading toward the shore. Hunroor tipped his crown to Beppe, a soft smile forming at the corner of his lips, as the pair turned to head in the direction of what appeared to be a foal. It has been some time since Hunroor had any experience with a foal, he wasn't exactly sure of how to speak to one, or if it was even alright to do so without the child's parent there. Slowly the draft king approached, trying to appear as friendly and approachable as he could despite his size, not wishing to scare the young one away. "I am Hunroor, and this is Beppe," Hunroor spoke gently, pausing for a moment as he motioned to the Capybara when he said his companion's name, "Where are your parents little miss?." There was genuine concern in the King's voice, his face and body also exhibited kindness and concern, not a single thought thinking that there was anything sinister about this child.

x DUCHESS Rain Forest Beach was a lot different than The Whore House. This was also her first time seeing the ocean and despite her training, Duchess could not help but allow her amber eyes to widen as she looked out toward the water. The waves were crashing gently against the sand in a steady rhythm. It was humid here, more than she was used to, but at the same time, she was enthralled by the beauty of the Light land. She wondered if there would be others her age around here to pass the time with. She'd been instructed to play with any other youngsters, to gain their trust, as they were the most easily manipulated. There were so many scents here, so many different equines all living in one place. She tilted her muzzle up to the sky, nostrils flaring as she scented the atmosphere. It was not long before she was found by someone. He approached slowly, as if worried his size would frighten her, but the young girl had lived her whole life surrounded by drafts and giants; while she wouldn't be the tallest equine, she still had a drafty build herself. She looked up at him, blinking slowly. "I am Hunroor, and this is Beppe," The King! She had found the King! She grinned just a little, awkward due to not being used to smiling, and looked over at the creature Hunroor had called Beppe. What were they? "What's a Beppe?" she asked, quiet and curious, and then remembered she should introduce herself. However, she had not been given a name to tell the Light Kingdom. She had been told to avoid using her Ghost alias. "I dunno what my name is..." she trailed off, frowning. It was not that far from the truth. She would not be told her actual birth name until she was deemed trustworthy by Lord Ghost himself. "Where are your parents little miss?" Again, she frowned, kicking at the sand a little, acting the part of the sad, confused little girl. "I dunno. Gone. I guess they're gone." Her father she'd never met, not that she remembered, and her mother was more than likely back in The Whore House, training with the Ghosts. She sniffled a little, keeping her eyes down. "Momma didn't wake up." The lie came easily and she sniffled again, still not looking up at Hunroor. "And Momma... she never gave me a name. Said it was too dangerous." A pause, the barely weaned filly shrugging. "She was scared of lotta things..."Roman w/ Hunroor 423 | DuchessKept falling asleep while typing, sorry for the quality >.< 7 months, late summer, early evening

The light king eyed the young one cautiously, taking a moment every now and then to look for any equine nearby that may be a possible parent to this child. Knowing how protective his own mother had been, Hunroor could only assume this childs would be the same, in a perfect world that is and Hunroor is aware that this world wasn't all that perfect. Little amber eyes looked up at him blinking, slowly, making the draft wonder if maybe there was something wrong with her or if she was maybe sleepy. A smaller grin tugged at the lips of the filly, awkwardly, as she looked over at Beppe. "What's a Beppe?", came her quiet question, showing the child's curiosity about Hunroors friend. "Beppe is what they call a Capybara, he's like a big rat but better looking and more pleasant," Hunroor tried to explain as best he could, yet being so out of touch with children was making it difficult, he just hoped he did not confuse her more.
The conversation took a turn, Hunroor could feel his heart go into his stomach as the child said, "I dunno what my name is..." before trailing off and frowning. It was strange that she was given no name, leaving Hunroor to assume to worse before the filly began to fill him in with more information, "I dunno. Gone. I guess they're gone." Gone, it seems that the filly must have had living parents for them to be "gone", though it still seemed strange that no name was given. The child frowned as she kicked at the sand, appearing to be sad which was understandable given the circumstances. "Momma didn't wake up, And Momma... she never gave me a name. Said it was too dangerous. She was scared of lotta things..." Hunroor's nose wrinkled, his violet eye expressing remorse as he lowered his head, offering a gentle touch on the head to comfort her. What was the child's mother so scared of? Was it what ended up killing her? Shaking his head, Hunroor offered a gentle smile and tried to think of what he could do to help the child, "I'm so sorry child. Do you have any family left? A home? I could take you and keep you safe?." It was the least he could do, Hunroor felt it best not to pry any further into the death of her mother, though if she had no where to fo, then Hunroor was sure that Nixi would be ok with the child staying with them until someone came to claim her.

x DUCHESS It was such a drastic change, being here. The air was humid and sticky; the striped filly found herself starting to sweat rather quickly, despite the sun being mostly gone now as evening crept every closer. It was late in the summer season but the humidity reminded her of the beginning or middle of summer, when it was so hot she wanted not even to move from where she rested. She sighed softly, amber eyes looking back at the creature that Hunroor had called Beppe. He was an interesting thing, something she had never seen before, and would most likely never see again. "Beppe is what they call a Capybara, he's like a big rat but better looking and more pleasant," Should she laugh? That sounded like something one should laugh at, so she giggled, though the sound was a bit delayed and again, an awkwardness clung to the sound. "I never seen one before. But I have seen rats." Rats were not uncommon in The Whore House, mainly around the giant pits full of dead and decaying bodies was where they lingered. Sometimes, they made their way up into the brothel, and Duchess had such fun with chasing them about and squishing them beneath her hooves. It was one of the only games she was allowed to play. The King's muzzle came to touch against her shoulder, a foreign comforting touch. The young girl did not react to it much, but she did offer another smile that came across as timid in nature. "I'm so sorry child. Do you have any family left? A home? I could take you and keep you safe?." She did have a family, and a home, but she had been given a task to fulfill. She knew eventually the Ghosts could come back for her, but for now, she would play the part of the orphaned child. So the striped sooty dunalino shook her head, sniffling somberly once more and frowning. "I dunno. It was always just me and Momma and now Momma's gone. I couldn't wake her up. She always told me to run if she never woke up." It all sounded to bizarre, so childish, but then again... Duchess was a child, and typically, children did not have such great concepts of death and danger. "Can I stay here?" she asked, quiet, contemplative. "I never been to a beach before. Momma always said the ocean was dangerous. But I can stay away from the water, I promise!" She tried again to smile, childishly looking up at the larger brute, eyes wide and trying to convey a hopeful expression. The Drafts one mauve eye continued to scout the horizon, taking note that the sun was slowly going down and soon night would be upon them. There would be no time today to try and find the young one's family or to take her home if she accepted his offer, travelling at night was dangerous enough for a lone adult, to have a foal at his side as he did so would be careless. Hunroor's focus returned to the child, her little giggle despite being delayed and awkward, filled his heart with a warm feeling. "I never seen one before. But I have seen rats," the child answered and Hunroor nodded his head in acknowledgement, rats certainly show up everywhere while capybaras are definitely a rare sight.
As Hunroor leaned in to muzzle the young one's head, he hoped that he wasn't overstepping or making the filly uncomfortable, if she did not react well then he would apologise and refrain from further contact. However, he did not get much of a reaction at all but a timid smile, causing Hunroor to become unsure about his actions. The little dunalino shook her head and sniffled somberly, frowning before answering the King's questions in regards to family and home, "I dunno. It was always just me and Momma and now Momma's gone. I couldn't wake her up. She always told me to run if she never woke up." A child without a mother, a name and a home, Hunroor could not imagine what it's been like for the little babe.
The cambion draft went into deep thought as he tried to think of what would be best for the filly, she needed a safe place and someone to take care of her until she can be on her own, but Hunroor didn't feel he was up to the task, he's never been a father. That was when the child's little voice filled the air again, quiet and contemplative, "Can I stay here? I never been to a beach before. Momma always said the ocean was dangerous. But I can stay away from the water, I promise!," Her little smile and hopeful expression had a sigh escape the King before he looked at her with a soft expression, "As long as you don't go near the water without an adult, you can stay." Hunroor looked away for a moment as his eyes landed on the forest where the herd generally slept, wondering how Nixi would take to the nameless child that he seems to have adopted. His violet eye returned to the filly, his voice still gentle, "We better go find you a place to sleep, it's getting late, but, would you like a name? You can choose your own name if you like, just so I know what to call you," he hoped it didn't seem weird to the filly, he actually hoped that she may be happy with the idea of having a name.

x DUCHESS The older equine had a Cambion mark that she noticed, but she was careful not to stare at it, to do nothing more than a casual glance at his markings. But she saw the mark, on his front right leg, and she could not help but wonder what a Cambion was doing in the Light Kingdom. Duchess was well aware of what a Cambion was, and what they were capable of, and while she was not one herself, she admired them. She admired anything that connected someone to the Underworld. She also noted that, when the stallion looked at her, he only had one eye. She did not see any scars, only an empty socket where his right eye should be. How fascinating this Light brute was. And King of the Light alliance, too! She had really gotten lucky, being found by him and not some useless member of the herd. She was proud of herself. Now, she just had to keep up the act. The young filly's attention then turned back upon Beppe, wondering where Hunroor had found such a critter, and where she might be able to get a companion critter of her own. That would be fun. "As long as you don't go near the water without an adult, you can stay." He looked away after speaking, Duchess looking up at him with her ears straining forward. She grinned, childish but so very happy. "I won't, I promise!" And who could ever think that she was here on a mission to spread havoc from within the Light herd itself? To help learn about the Light Kingdom for that it could later be destroyed? Hunroor's one-eyed gaze eventually turned back upon the striped filly and she gave the most adorable, wide-eyed look up at the draft. "We better go find you a place to sleep, it's getting late, but, would you like a name? You can choose your own name if you like, just so I know what to call you," The question had her cocking her head to the side as she pretending to consider the question. She didn't know her real name, anyway, only her alias of Ghost, but she could not give that away. She had been warned not to. "What do ya wanna call me? Momma always said names are powerful. I wish she'd told me her name... she was scared I would tell someone and they would come lookin' for her." Duchess frowned, quite enjoying being able to express herself with facial features for once. It seemed the longer their conversation went for the more comfortable and happy the filly became, once a somber child, she now expressed happiness and that in itself made Hunroor feel he had some good in this world, even if it was just a small act of kindness. This world needed more equines in it that cared, to do little acts of kindness, then maybe war would be something that no future generations would have to face. Despite the filly's bright grin, Hunroor couldn't help but feel more saddened by her situation and wondered if she knew of the war. Could he prevent her from finding out about the war if she didn't already know of it? It was something the newly appointed Light King wished to do, to try and keep her innocence and shield her away from any further grievances, so she could have some sort of childhood.
Beppe shuffled away from the equines as he headed back into the rainforest, heading to where Hunroor had made his bed, knowing that is where the pair would likely end up. Hunroor watched his little friend for a moment before his attention shifted to the little filly, declaring that she promises not to go near the water without an adult, to which Hunroor muttered with a smile, "Good. Despite its beauty, the sea is quite dangerous." Upon asking the child if she'd like a name and to choose it, the cambion was met with a head tilt from the filly, and oddly, Hunroor found it quite adorable. She seemed to give it some thought before finally responding with her own question, asking Hunroor what he'd like to call her and sharing that her mother said names are powerful but refused to share her name with her daughter out of fear, to which the filly asked if it was safe to have a name now.
The chimeric cambion stallion wasn't quite ready for such a question and always thought that the first name he would give a child, would be to one of his biological children, and he didn't plan on having those till he knew he was with the right mare. What if he picked a name she didn't like? Should he give her some options? Would it be better if he found Nixi and asked her since she has already named a few of her own children? No, Hunroor knew he shouldn't overthink it, the child had placed her trust in him and he refused to disappoint her now. "Your mother is right, names are quite powerful but it is safe to have one as I will make sure no harm comes to you," Hunroor began, hoping that talking kindly of her mother helped soothe the child, while also holding off on picking a name. "I have not given anyone a name before... so if you do not like the one I offer, you do not have to agree to it. How do you feel about the name, Aela?," The name is one he had heard on his travels, a strong female name that was still feminine, he hoped the name would give the filly a feeling of strength if she liked it. Once the task of naming her was done, he hoped the filly would then be happy to follow him into the forest where they will join the herd and rest for the night. In the morning, well, he was unsure how soon he should properly introduce the newest herd member and how Nixi would take to her younger brother and new King in becoming a father figure to a foal that had wandered alone into their home.
