Amaranthine Wars

This is a thread between Fennore (Indi) and Nemesis (➳ T e c h n o ➳).

Prompt:

Fennore, angel of Utopia, would give anything to ensure that no harm would be caused to anyone because of the war. He has heard rumours of Xerxes' proclamation, that cambions and those they care for who do not support the Underworld are going to be hunted. Hoping to stop such prosecution from happening, he travels to Toxin Raj - home of Helkaer Nemesis, one of the individuals who would participate in hunting cambions. Will the angel be able to convince Nemesis to leave them be?

Please ensure you have read the information regarding the plot here. At least three posts from each roleplayer are required for this thread for it to be considered as complete, however further posts are encouraged. Thread should be completed no later than January 25th, 2024.

Nemesis paced the borders of Toxin Raj as she plotted how to hunt down more cambions. So far she'd made little headway with the task that Xerxes had set out for the Helkaer. She still had yet to enact her revenge upon the Light Kingdom, but she had wanted to see what King Hunroor would do given that Nixi had spat in her face. Aislinn was dead and had not yet resurfaced in the Afterlife. Baelrune had been keeping an eye out for her, and promised his daughter he would tell her when or if the bay showed up. Since then her borders had been tightened and she had given her members permission to maim or kill any intruders that dared to cross their borders. Nemesis knew who the Helkaer loyalists were and so she trusted her members to use their discretion. As the dark bay carved a groove into the path on her border she heard a shift of movement just beyond them. Her violet eyes narrowed as she peered out into the dwindling darkness of night.

Daylight was almost upon them, and it would seem that some foolish individual was going to dare to cross her borders. Nemesis kept her gaze locked on the horizon and her bodice still. She listened in the way every hunter listened for their prey. There was an unfamiliar scent on the breeze too. Her auds were on high alert. Nemesis flicked her tail against her hocks and relished the sting it provided in the early cold of winter. It almost seemed too good to be true that she might have someone to direct her rage and wrath upon before first light. Nemesis gave a few more moments pause before she began to pace her borders again like a hungry wolf. The wolves who assisted the Helkaer were not far away.

Nemesis heard another movement and then her own stopped again. The world beyond her borders were silent for a time. She could hear her heartbeat racing in her ears as the adrenaline began to surge. It felt no different than a hunt. Nemesis took one step outside of Toxin Raj in anticipation. "You can't hide from me. I can hear you." The dark bay General snarled into the silent morning air. The mare's violet gaze was locked in the direction where she'd last heard movement. It was entirely possible that it was another animal, but they smelled vaguely equine. Her tail flicked aggressively through the air once more. Nemesis wanted nothing more than to chew on the bones of some foolish individual.
