Versai

It was not much past noon when the smoky black quarab ventured out of the Highlands. It was becoming a weekly activity of hers as she toured the freelands meeting knew equines and getting updates on current events. Serendipity had not gotten out this much growing up and knew that now, it was important to get to know the land better, as well as the subjects that roamed it. Today her tour of the freelands had brought her to Geysir. Serendipity’s mother had forbidden her from coming here once, but the young Versai knew that was because this had been the place she had been abducted from. Seren had to come here. While it hadn’t been her first destination in her tour, she knew she needed to come here. It was important for others to see her and know who she was. That meant not just visiting one land, but visiting as many as she could. This was not for fame, but to show the world that she was a Versai. That she stood for change and would truly do her best to represent righteousness. And while the world was at war, she wanted to be available to help any who may be in need. That mean absolutely anyone who was in need. Which meant defying her mother’s wishes and venturing into new lands.
The young mare weaved through the bubbling pits. Feeling the heat of each as she passed. She tried to be quick as to not be present during and eruption, but pace herself to not stumble into the molten liquid. Her focus wandered to her previous journeys where she had met a few equines here and there. They were valuable memories and faces but Serendipity knew she needed to make deeper connections with others if she was really going to make a difference as a Versai. While she desperately needed to form alliances, a time of war made this very difficult. It was hard to take one side or another without being seen as biased. The Versai as a whole was remaining neutral at this time, and Serendipity was glad for it. She had a hard time wrapping her head around fighting an Immortal’s battles, especially when she had no connection to one side or the other. That didn’t mean she would stand idle. Instead she hoped to fight for peace and for those who needed them most. For now that would have to do until the days of peace came again and she could go on to build up alliances for her homeland once again.

x EDOM The slender frame of a chestnut splash pony could be seen moving through the mists of Geysir. Around him, geysers erupted, spewing boiling water up into the air which he carefully avoiding, giving each vent in the earth a wide berth as he traversed across the terrain. Still young, yes, but old enough to know the dangers of the geysers, Edom had no intentions of getting close enough to them to burn himself. Realistically, he didn't have a true reason to even be here other than he'd started to grow a little bit restless in The Howling Keep. Restlessness was unusual for him. The urge to explore did not often hit the youth, and he was normally more than content to stay home and stick either to himself or with his immediate family. Truth be told, living in the heart of the Dark Kingdom genuinely frightened him. His whole life, Edom had considered himself to be more along the lines of a Neutral. He'd never claimed to be Dark or evil or cruel in any way. He didn't even like to swat flies away during the summer months, sometimes, because he got to wondering what if they, too, had families to take care of and he squished one and then their family never knew what happened to them? Smiling to himself and still walking with a lazy but confident forward motion, his stride faltered for the first time that day as he scanned the area and saw through the swirl of mist and humidity another equine nearby. At first, he debating turning tail and shuffling away just as quietly as he'd appeared himself. However... well, if he was going to come out to the Free Lands, might as well make a friend out of it, right? So, shy and nervous but polite as can be, Edom lifted his muzzle gently into the air and nicked softly to hopefully catch the other's attention. He inched steadily close to her as well, unaware of who she was or what she was. All he saw was the potential for genuine conversation at the moment. not AVA! w/ Serendipity 351 | ProfileHope you don't mind me posting him here! <3 3 years 5 months, late autumn, noon

The atmosphere of this land kept Serendipity on edge. The threat of eruptions, steaming hot water and equines with bad intentions put her on full alert. The rumbling earth sent vibrations through her, making her feel out of alignment. There were a few equines scattered on the outskirts, some in deep conversations, some who seemed to be trying to find a safe place to take cover. She wished to help those in need, but at the sight of her many cowered away. She wondered if it was the skull or the Versai mark that caused them to flinch at her. Maybe her mother had been right about coming here, but Seren really wanted to know as much of the freelands as she could. With a brief nod in their direction she continued on her way but she could feel her confidence declining. She paused briefly, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath to gather her senses. The mare listened to her breath, the rhythm of her heart, the feel of the earth vibrating beneath her feet. Significantly calmer she opened her color changing pools and looked around to be sure there was no threat and proceeded. Walking through a few steam clouds the smoky mare soon discovered she was not alone. Another equine was carefully wandering through the minefield of geysers. As it seemed there paths would cross, Seren nickered softly in casual greeting. Hello there! Her tone friendly, but not requiring answer. Maybe the other soul was in a hurry to get somewhere. If they wanted to chat she was open to the opportunity but did not want them to feel obligated to do so since the others seemed to want to avoid her like the plague. She knew many were just wanting to be close to their loved ones in this time of uncertainty, but she wished they knew that she only wanted to help anyone she could. While she had a safe home she avoided the pain that waited for her there. While she loved and took care her mother daily, watching the mare suffer took too much toll on her soul. She wished that there was more that she could do for the old mare, but Aurora had told her time and time again that she deserved to suffer. It pained her heart and made it easier for the Versai mare to venture away from her homeland. Tag: fleabittengrayWords: 402 Comments <3

x EDOM Edom was a very skittish young man. He was small not just in height, but his entire build was very slender and petite. He didn't often have a lot of energy, either, and was prone to blacking out or even fainting if he exerted himself too hard or for too long. Yet here he was, braving the Free Lands by himself. He'd told his family where he was going, of course, just god forbid something happened and he wasn't back by the time the sun set (he hated being out after dark, especially alone). But he was entirely alone. And braving talking to a total stranger. She looked strong. Like the type of woman that spent time training. Intimidating. Edom was starting to regret his decision to approach her, his ears timidly tilting backward but his smile remaining on his lips (even if it was equally as timid as he felt). Hello there! The woman's tone was friendly, which gave him immediate relief because he didn't want to have to run away from a dangerous equine and risk passing out. He could sprint for a short distance (he was quick when he had to be) but he couldn't run for long, not without risking seriously injuring himself. One of his ears twisted forward again and he dipped his head marginally. "Hey, what's up? I'm Edom." He hoped he didn't sound as nervous as he felt. It was hard to relax, when he hardly ever left home in the first place, and very rarely every had conversations with anyone outside of his family. not AVA! w/ Serendipity 262 | ProfileSorry for the wait! 3 years 5 months, late autumn, noon

Serendipity continued to hope she could be of some help to someone in these uncertain times. The dark hued mare explored the freelands daily hoping there was something she could do, while remaining and neutral party. So far she had felt pretty useless and judged. Why was she, a Versai, not siding with their natural ally? Unfortunately an alliance with Utopia didn’t feel as simple as the natural choice. It was more complicated, partially because of her mother and partially because she looked an alliances more than just a vow. Seren felt that any alliance needed to start with a strong base relationship prior to committing to being allies. The young Versai wondered if that was a silly view or if she were being more practical about the term alliance than most. Her twisted path brought her toward the small stallion. The heat of the geysers warming her bodice as she passed. She eased closer to the other equine, the steam floating in the air coating her Smokey pelt so it was shiny. Sounds of eruptions surrounded them, making it more difficult to hear one another unless you were aware of when the eruption were to occur. Thankfully Serendipity could hear the stranger introduce himself as Edom. She bowed her head in acknowledgment and respect prior to replying. I am Oleander, you may call me Olli if you prefer. She introduced herself a lot more naturally these days after a few months of struggling with finding her words. Her alias slipped off her tongue as if it was the one given to her by her mother. While she was proud of her chosen name, she preferred Serendipity. She wish that it was Serendipity getting credit for the things she did as a Versai, which was unfortunately not a lot yet. She understood the reason and tradition behind aliases, so she did not protest. Instead she put the random thoughts aside and picked up the conversation. What brings you to this territory today? She asked casually trying to take her mind off of the alias topic. Maybe he had an interesting tale to share. Maybe he needed assistance. Possibly he was just trying to escape the chaos that resided everywhere in this time of war. No matter what it was a welcome distraction from all that was going on, war, getting a hang of her title and most importantly her mother. Tag: fleabittengrayWords: 401

x EDOM For someone that lived in the heart of the Dark Kingdom, Edom sure was a coward when it came to pretty much anything. He was constantly so worried about his health that he forgot to enjoy life in the moment. And now, with the war, he was even more anxious about being out here in the Free Lands. However, he knew he could not always live his life in fear. Every day was a gift. Life was precious. He had to go out there and enjoy himself! But how, when he was so timid? Thankfully, this mare did not seem to mind his cautious nature around her and even seemed to be respectful of him (not something that the every day stranger was!). She bowed her head and a brighter smile spread across his muzzle, lime hued eyes brightening as both ears now perked forward, readying himself to listen to whatever the stranger had to say. I am Oleander, you may call me Olli if you prefer. He did not know the name, had never heard of it before, but he locked it away in his memory now. Olli. A kind stranger. He had no idea she was a Versai Sister. Had he known, he may have retreated back into his shell even more - because the Versai were enemies of the Dark Kingdom, which he called home, though he considered himself to be of the Neutral alliance personally. "Olli it is, then!" he spoke, shifting his weight gently and resting a hind hoof on the front tip. A display to show that he was relaxed, or trying to be, at least. What brings you to this territory today? Sheepishly, Edom chuckled and glanced around them at the erupting geysers. What an excellent question that he did not have a true answer to. "Honestly? No real reason other than trying to, I dunno, make a friend or two." He paused, a toothy and crooked grin on his lips as he then stated, "Probably not the smartest move, considering the war and all, but..." He trailed off, laughing awkwardly. not AVA! w/ Serendipity 347| Profilenotes 3 years 5 months, late autumn, noon
