x SANCTIO Winter had crept slowly into the realm of Wild Equines, and while snowfall had yet to cover the abyss in white just yet, he knew that time was ticking. Soon enough, the snow and blizzards would come and those too weak to flourish in the season of death would do just that - die. It was all a part of the circle of life, an endless cycle that they had no control over. Even the Lords and Ladies of the Afterlife could not compete with the true rulers of the universe. Death and Time were two constants. Everything died. Time never ceased. Life was never promised. So many took it for granted, never realizing that in just the blink of an eye, it could all be gone. Everything they knew about life itself was so beautifully fragile. Sometimes, Sanctio felt a little too relatable to that fragility. Today was one of those days, where his thoughts were spiraling and racing, something that was not common for him - he suffered no mental ailments, thank the gods - but even he could not escape the grips of anxiety and dread from time to time. To give himself a little break from his dreadful thoughts, the Light land leader her decided to take a trip out to Nomalanga. He had not been to the jungle since his encounter with a mare by the name Liath, several weeks ago, and with the chill in the air he was starting to almost crave a bit of heat and humidity. His journey to the rainforest was uneventful and quiet and he arrived at his desired destination around late morning, nearly noon by the position of the sun in the sky. He breathed in the rain scented atmosphere, a smile appearing upon his handsome maw, and with no hesitation, the massive Clydesdale began to venture into the thick foliage of the jungle. The snow capped hide of the hag queen was but a camouflaged blur as she deftly manoeuvred through the tangled undergrowth of Nomalanga. The pied plumage of her corvid companion was perched securely upon her withers, his sanguine gaze two piercing crimson beams through the murk. The air of the jungle was heavy with moisture, it clung to her hide in a gentle sheen, adding an almost ethereal luminescence to her lithe embodiment as she moved through the shadows. Thomasin could not sit idly by and do nothing, she could not bide her time and rest upon her laurels. The twins had been gone for such a long time now, she was beginning to question if they ever had been real at all. If it wasn't for the maternal ache in her loins, perhaps she could have put the twins appearance down to a brush with psychosis - after all, it had cursed her father. Much like her sire, she too now needed flesh to function, let alone survive. If that trait had been passed down to her, what was to say The Surgeon's psychotic and sociopathic tendencies also hadn't slipped through the net? What was to stop her from shifting into a maniacal beast like he was?
Thomasin absently peeled a slither of flesh from her inner cheek as she drew to a halt. The shadows of the forestry threatened to consume her, they loomed over her like ghouls. And yet, as she always did, her golden scrutiny bore through them, challenging them, daring them. Whilst these were not her woods, there was the unyielding confidence that she was the most formidable creature lurking within these lands and she would be hard pressed to be convinced otherwise. With a steady confidence, the dark regent moved forth down a well worn track, vines draped across her path from the canopy overhead like serpents from the boughs. Each step was placed meticulously upon the terrain, avoiding sticks and anything that could give away her location to any prowling beasts. As she moved through the murk of the jungle, the avian upon her shoulder seemed to shiver his beak, a strange clicking noise emitted as he seemed to warn her that they were not alone anymore. The hag adhered to Marduk, her slender embodiment halting as her lobes danced upon her atlas, doing her utmost to locate the source of who, or what, Marduk had heard.
Downwind of the beast, Thomasin watched as a mahogany stallion moved through the jungle. He was a brawny bastard, the same height as she, yet each muscled leg was painted ivory to over the knee. Thick obsidian locks were draped upon his crest and flicked from his haunches. A generic appearance perhaps, but somehow, Thomasin felt she recognised the bastard from somewhere but she could not put her finger on it. Had he been a face in the crowd at the coronation of Hunroor? More than likely. Marduk’s scrutiny did not leave the stranger, his beak quickly pecked into the pliant flesh of her nape, signalling for her to move on. Thomasin did so, thinking little more of the stallion as she continued through the gloom of the jungle. As she weaved onwards, it was only as the track seemed to directly cross that which the stallion walked upon, did Thomasin come to a halt squarely before him. There was no fear in her eyes, no challenge nor reason for the stag to run or attack, but she did not trust him. After a moment of surmising the behemoth did she finally speak. Hello there, a quaint, informal greeting offered, testing the water between them to see how this may play out…

x SANCTIO As he walked through the jungle, the chill melted from his bones, leaving him feeling comfortably warm. He hummed as he shoved his way through the foliage - this place really was not made for horses as large as himself. He was not trying to be particularly quiet or sneaky, since he saw no reason to be. With the wind blowing away from him, he did not pick up the scent of another nearby, nor did he see her just yet through the vines and the greenery. The Light brute just continued to walk along the barely there path that he'd found himself on, content to explore. He'd always been a bit adventurous, even as a boy. He smiled fondly at the memories and the smile was still etched across his his face when, seemingly out of nowhere, a spotted mare around his height but of slimmer build appeared in the path before him. Sanctio halted abruptly, lifting his head and cocking it as if asking, "what's going on?" but he spoke not a word as he glanced over the woman, trying to figure out who she was. He eyed the bird perched upon her withers and found himself thinking that she looked familiar. The two tall equines stood there in momentary silence before the woman finally spoke. Hello there, Her voice, had he heard it before? His head still cocked gently to one side, hair cascading handsomely away from his face, Sanctio eyed the mare for a moment long before he grinned, pleased at himself for figuring out who she was. "Hola, la reina," he greeted her, with his typical amusement, remembering how much Rianne had hated how he'd found amusement in her hostility. Would Thomasin be the same? He righted his head, lowering it in a respectful dip, his brown eyes never leaving the Dark monarch - after all, she was the enemy, and could not be trusted. "What has brought you to the jungle today?"A z z y w/ Thomasin 326 | SanctioI'm so looking forward to this 8 years 11 months, early winter, late morning, after Boudicca's Coronation Hola, la reina = Hello, queen at least according to Google okay
