x COAL TW: Mentions of eating disorder How long had it been, since he had seen them? His beloved Headache and their sweet Adira. Gone without a trace. There had been no signs of struggle, leaving him to assume Headache had left on her own and taken their child with him. Coal had looked for them, searching all across the Free Lands for his mate and their daughter, but it was like they had never existed in the first place. The worst part? This wasn't even the first time it happened. Headache had left him before, but he'd taken her back. He'd loved her so deeply and desperately that he couldn't imagine life without her - yet here he was, without her. Alone. So goddamn alone. He couldn't eat, he couldn't sleep, he couldn't function. Dark Woods felt suffocating, but it was home. He didn't want to leave home, not really, but it just felt so... maddening to be there without his mate and their daughter. They should have had a happy life together. They should have. They could have! Rage began to boil beneath the surface, his empty stomach roaring with discomfort. When was the last time he had eaten? He could not remember now. A day or so ago, maybe. He'd been drinking water, though, at least. They would have to be good enough. But, oh, did he look skeletal as he walked through the silvery moonlight that was still cast down from the sky early that morning. The sun was just starting to peek its way above the horizon, but it would be another couple of hours before it truly started to rise, leaving him with nothing but shadows and darkness to keep him company. This war that raged within the lands seemed foreign to Quini. The freelands sometimes seemed desolate and other times battles would erupt between entities of opposing sides. Quini merely stood in the shadows and watched. She had no dog in the fight and wasn't particularly sure she wanted to. She could not begin to tell one how the war got started and who was winning. Hell, she wasn't even entirely sure whom all was involved. She had seen an influx of those in the immortal realm, or afterlife, so she'd bet they'd have a key role in the warefare. She had seen battles and been the cause of deaths to those she considered friends. While she had no friends or home in Wild Equines- she'd still rather not be involved in the bloodshed. Two-beat gait carried her fifteen point one hand spotted fram easily over the rocky terrain. Violet gaze picked her path long before striped daggers collided with the earth's crust. Plumes of warm carbon dioxide dissipated as it made contact with frigid oxygen. Winter still had it's grasp on the lands and the morning sun still had yet to rise over the mountain peaks. How much warmth its rays would offer on this winter morning was still to be determined. Trio braids tied off with crimson ribbons and bows bounced against her firm canvas, only settling as her gait rolled back and slowed to a walk. Vision landing upon a skeletal like creature before her. Paths in these lands were narrow and scared. To go another way would be too obvious and awkward now. Going around was not an option with what the Earth had offered in terms of viable ground. Quini approached, clearing her throat from a distance and making sure her footfalls scraped over sheet stones so her arrival was no unexpected. She noted his body condition and overal aura about him- but said nothing on the matter. Who was she as a stranger to judge and quetion or offer adive of being healthy. There was a part of her that had hoped he was not out in the free lands because of this war and to find those to join whatever side he stood on or fight those that didn't. Given his current state she doubted that was his reasoning for here- but maybe he had lost a loved one in the war? Twin harks swiveled upon her cranium as she finally halted before the stag, I am sorry to disrupt you. Do you might know of any place warmer than here? Words were laced with honey as her innocent voice cut the space between the two. Quini knew a few free lands that offered more warmth and how to get there; but he didn't have to know that. It would be believeable as her leopard, spotted coat did not have much thickness to it to protect against Father Winter. These mountain paths seem to be unforgiving- that last thing I want it to take one thinking it will take me to a warm sanctuary only to be stranded and become an icicle. There was a bit of humor in her tones but no laugh vibrated within. Oh, I'm Quini. Probably something I should have started with. Quini was more than capable in this situation. But perhaps helping another out would lighten the mood of the stag before her. ooc; fleabittengray hope you don't mind me jumping in! Trying to get more of my other characters out!

x COAL TW: xxx This was difficult terrain to walk through, for someone so skeletal and weak, but Coal pushed through the pain and the exhaustion. It was what he was used to now, feeling the ache in his bones from the winter chill. His joints had suffered greatly and as fall turned into winter yet again, every movement was excruciating. He had no cushioning, no body fat, nothing to keep him warm or comfortable. He was just skin and bones; it was his own doing. He was not being tortured or held prisoner. He was not a captive of the war, recently released or escaped. He was just sad. So far sad. He saw no reason to keep himself more than just barely alive. The only thing keeping him going these days was the thought that maybe, perhaps, Headache and Adira would come back to him. Adira would be a grown woman by now. What would she look like, all grown up? He wanted to cry at the thought but the tears never came. He knew that during wartime it was irresponsible to not pay attention to his surroundings, but Coal never paid much attention to anything anymore, aside from the troubles thoughts inside his head. He only became aware of someone approaching when they cleared their throat. It was then that his head lifted and turned to look in her direction. He stared at her, hazel eyes dull and lifeless, as her hooves clattered over the pathway. He did not speak, expecting the spotted woman to walk on by; for what reason did she have to speak with him? He was not handsome or strong. He was ugly. Worthless. So when the maiden halted before him, her ears pricking in his direction, and she spoke, Coal seemed stunned. I am sorry to disrupt you. Do you might know of any place warmer than here? He stared at her a moment but nodded his head. After all, it would be impolite not to respond. "Yes, there are a few places here in the Free Lands that are warmer. Crystal Pools, perhaps, would be the safest bet. If you'd like, I can take you there." It would be a long, painful walk for someone like him but Coal was willing to do it. Perhaps some company would do him some good. These mountain paths seem to be unforgiving- that last thing I want it to take one thinking it will take me to a warm sanctuary only to be stranded and become an icicle. Her voice was pretty, with an air of innocence. Coal cracked a smile, though the expression didn't quite reach his eyes, as if happiness or simple joys were incapable of being felt by the skeletal brute. "Have you no place to call home? Do you prefer life as a nomad?" It was not really his place to offer her a home, he held no high ranking in Dark Woods, was hardly more than a ghost in the herd, but he could at least let her know of it. Let her come visit, if she wanted, and meet the others. Perhaps Vojorn or Reth or Jazmin would feel comfortable allowing her to live there, if she wanted to join them. Oh, I'm Quini. Probably something I should have started with. It was an unfamiliar name to the champagne stallion, though that wasn't saying much. He did not really know anyone outside of Dark Woods, anyway. "Hello, Quini. I am Coal. It is nice to meet you." He tried again to smile, to try and brighten his eyes and his face, but he just felt so tired. His weight shifted from side to side, trying to subtly find a comfortable position to stand in, but no such position could ever be found for the brute. His body was too broken down and wasted to probably ever feel comfortable again. Zohyd// w/ Quini 647 | ProfileThanks for joining!
