TW: language, mention of imprisonment
Nemesis descended into the pits beneath Toxin Raj. It was a set of caverns that she had used as cells for her prisoners. The most notable victim as of late had been the Light King, although she'd allowed him to depart with the promise he would assist her in finding her mother's killer. If he did not, then she would throw it in Nixi's face that the King had gone behind her back. Not only that she would be pointing Xerxes in his direction no matter what price she had to pay to make him suffer. Nemesis was limited in what she could accomplish with him because the pair were Cambions. They could not affect each other in the way she so frequently exploited. Hunroor would not succumb to their disease. There were plenty of mortals that would, and one of them was still rotting in her cell since the raid. She'd been singled out because of her ruthless and cold demeanor when Nemesis had infiltrated Eacarrah.
As far as she knew, Gavin had yet to pay Sly for what Tallulah had wracked up a debt for. The foolish Neutral leader had agreed to pay the price, and so far it had been silent. The raid had proved successful in many ways. Her little prisoner was just one such bonus, although she was still dealing with the fallout of her mother's death. At the very least Wolf's child was safe. Nemesis didn't want to risk Wolf's potential, and very flaky, loyalty. If it'd been up to her, Wolf likely would've been her romantic partner. But the Dark Bay General didn't think that would go over very well. She could say she had the same feeling for Thomasin, but that likely wouldn't work out with that oaf of a king she had at her side. Selven. The mere memory of the painted bastard was enough to have a bitter taste saturate her tongue.
Nemesis finally stopped her descent and weaving through the tunnels beneath Toxin Raj when she came upon the cell of the mare she sought. "Are you ready to hear what I have planned for you?" She asked in cold, emotionless tones. This mare would make an ideal Helkaer if she was given the opportunity. If she could pledge loyalty to the cause, she would be free to wreak whatever havoc she desired. If she didn't, Nemesis would likely have to maim her beyond recognition.
