CADENCE
His conversation with Akroma at Hunroor's coronation had prompted him to seek out his counterpart and ask if she knew about his daughter Isolde. She had been conceived in exchange for Hymn's freedom, and he did not regret it. Cadence loved his daughter as he loved all his children. But beyond that, with the war ongoing and Akroma now knowing of his daughter, and her granddaughter, Rasashould be informed. It didn't matter that he had a fondness for the former Dark Queen and Lady of the Underworld, Rasa was still his equal. The roan lord strolled through the familiar terrain of Utopia and searched for the bay lady. He wondered if Hymn even knew he had a half sibling. Cadence had told Allocen when it had happened. They were together at the time, but it was done for the sake of his son's safety. He intended to be there for all his children regardless. After a while of searching, he decided it might be best to extend a summons to her. It wasn't that he avoided using his powers often, but he did find some discomfort from summoning Rasa. She was usually so busy and he regarded her as far more capable than himself in some things. How long was it she had been ruling Utopia? Much longer than he'd ever dreamed of holding such a title. The summons rumbled across Utopia. It sought out only Rasa. The pull was not urgent, but it pressed upon the importance of something that he had to share with her. "I hope I'm not pulling you from something terribly important, Rasa." Cadence murmured into the atmosphere and hoped she would hear him. It had been awhile since he'd felt or used his summons. Cadence had tried to use it more sparingly since the height of the war. It was difficult to balance the duties he had as Lord, and the position he was in within the war. It was even more difficult to tell who had the upperhand. As it stood now, it felt very equal. Many mortals were going ahead and carrying about their lives as usual. The only exception to that seemed to be The Helkaer. They had seemed more volatile than usual. But that was to be expected, he'd been there when one of their members had been knocked out by the Utopians when they took Everest. It had been going on for so long now. Cadence was starting to understand that there really was no winners in war, and yet he could not relinquish his support. fleabittengray per our discussion on discord! <3 this will just be a quick/rapid thread for information ^^ Set for after Hunroor's Coronation and his discussion with Akroma (so before he was stolen by Xerxes)

x RASA It was so frustrating to lead a realm and feel like she had no support from the angels. She tried so hard to rally the troops and get them to be out and about, helping the mortals with whatever they might need, but from what she was seeing, activity was lacking. There was only so much herself and Cadence could do to keep Utopia strong! They needed help and support from the angels. It was embarrassing to see how much chaos was being created by the demons, or by mortals on behalf of the Underworld, and then to see the angels just seeming not to care. She was so angry! But she tried not to show it. She had to keep herself calm, had to keep her head in the game, otherwise winning this war at all was going to be impossible. It was already unlikely. In the beginning, upon declaring war, the angels - at least some of them - had been there... where were they now? Rasa was making almost daily trips to the Free Lands, in an attempt to win support of the mortals, and by the end of the day she always felt exhausted. But she repeated it the next day regardless of her mental exhaustion. When would the others start trying, she wondered? Or was Utopia doomed to just always be... well, lazy, in her eyes. She was just returning from the mortal realm, barely through the Gates of Heaven, when she felt a summoning pull on her soul. Cadence. She blinked, quickening her pace to a lope instead of a walk. It hadn't seemed like an emergency, but still urgent enough. "I hope I'm not pulling you from something terribly important, Rasa." She heard the words reaching out to her over a small distance. The Lady of Utopia frowned slightly, wings kept folded tightly against her sides so as not to hinder her stride. Soon enough, she reached Cadence's location and began to slow her pace until she was walking up to him, her frown now turned into a polite but tired smile. "Hey, Cadence," she greeted her Lord, halting in front of him. "You caught me at a good time. I was just getting back from a visit to the mortals." A pause, her ears perking forward, curious. "Is everything okay?" She was almost afraid to ask. Why? Because so much felt like it was going wrong. What more could possibly be going on? How much more could she possibly take before she broke beneath the heavy weight upon her back? Still, she refused to let her smile falter. She refused to let herself look weak. She was tired of feeling like a failure. ➳ T e c h n o ➳ w/ Cadence 449 | Profilenotes 20 years 8 months, late winter/early spring, after exchanging Sly's soul for Hymn's freedom

CADENCE
Rasa appeared not long after he had pulled to summon her. She didn't look as weary as usual, and in fact her ears even sat atop her crown now. Cadence still hoped that he was doing her justice and easing some of the weight from her shoulders. Rasa greeted him casually and explained she'd been in the mortal realm. That would explain why he hadn't been able to find her in Utopia. The roan gave a nod and offered her a smile. He felt a little bad when she'd asked if everything was okay. He hadn't meant to worry her with his summons. This was after all just to inform her of his daughter's existence. "Yes, I didn't mean to worry you. I just wanted to share some information with you that I believe is important. Even more so right now with the Dark Kingdom clearly allying with the Underworld." Cadene began with a nod. Despite what he'd just shared, his voice was not tense. It strangely bordered on happy, and for no other reason than he loved his daughter dearly. "I don't recall if I told you when it happened because this was prior to The Mists taking me... but when Hymn was stolen by the Dark Royals, Sephora specifically. I went to negotiate for his freedom and she agreed in exchange for a child of her own with me as the sire. I am fuzzy on the details of why, but I agreed and as a result I have a daughter in the Dark kingdom named Isolde."Cadence explained while the uncertainty of if this was something he'd already shared before. It felt familiar, but at the same time he couldn't be sure. "That being said, I recently learned that Akroma is Sephora's mother. She's Isolde's grandmother and so I did share her existence with her because it seemed that she was more genuine. She cares for her children, in a way that only parents can relate to another if that makes sense. Akroma promised to try and keep Isolde safe during the War, unprompted." He explained again the conversation he'd had with her at the coronation. There was another part of his plan with all this. "I think, at least I would like to try, to convert her to Utopia. I would like to allow her a glimpse at her children while I am there to prove to her that I have kept my word that they will not be taken by the mists. I think and hope that conversion is possible with her... There is something in her I see and relate to, and this is not my judgement being clouded. Since I came back from the Mists, my judgement has been altered but more clear. This is an opportunity I feel the need to pursue, to show Akroma that Utopia has not turned its back on her even now." Cadence explained again and offered Rasa a glimpse into the conversation the two had shared. He wanted nothing more for her to know and understand his position. Cadence would never compromise Utopia, and he didn't feel Akroma would do that. But he would be cautious. fleabittengray per our discussion on discord! <3 this will just be a quick/rapid thread for information ^^ Set for after Hunroor's Coronation and his discussion with Akroma (so before he was stolen by Xerxes)

Unbreak me, unchain me, I need Another chance to live There was so much running through her head as she waited for Cadence to explain what his summons was about. Though she tried not to show it, anxiety was gnawing in the pit of her stomach. Her ears may be pricked forward, slightly smiling at her Lord, but Rasa was skeptical. She no longer believed in good news. Everything was always bad news. Everything was always falling apart. Sometimes she felt like she herself was falling apart. She felt like she was doing things all wrong. Unworthy of being Lady of Utopia, but who else would do the job? No one before her had been able to keep the rank for long. She was the longest reigning Lady in the Afterlife. And she hadn't even originally wanted the position; she'd just been tired of Ladies and Lords disappearing. Which, ironically enough, happened right after she was appointed as Lady. The Lord that had appointed her, Tybolt, disappeared as well, leaving her newly appointed and all alone. Her reign in Utopia had never been easy. Much of the time, she had spent judging and appointing new Lords instead of getting to know them. That was why she was glad Cadence was back. Out of all her Lords, she'd bonded with him the most. They seemed to usually be on the same page for things. It had been a devastating blow when the Mist had taken him (right before her very eyes, a sight she would never forget). She thought the Mist must have given the Lord back for a reason. It was a comforting thought to have. "Yes, I didn't mean to worry you. I just wanted to share some information with you that I believe is important. Even more so right now with the Dark Kingdom clearly allying with the Underworld." His words had the anxiety bubbling up from her stomach, into her throat, her ears twitching and the feathers upon her wings ruffling subtly. What could possibly concern them about the Dark Kingdom? They very clearly wanted nothing to do with Utopia. It also made no sense for it to be a bad thing, given Cadence's almost jovial tone. It was confusing and conflicting. It made her nervous. After all... no news was ever good news anymore. "I don't recall if I told you when it happened because this was prior to The Mists taking me... but when Hymn was stolen by the Dark Royals, Sephora specifically. I went to negotiate for his freedom and she agreed in exchange for a child of her own with me as the sire. I am fuzzy on the details of why, but I agreed and as a result I have a daughter in the Dark kingdom named Isolde." The information settled between them. Rasa was silent. No, she hadn't known. She'd had no idea, actually, and it made her all the more uneasy. "Oh." It was all she could get herself to say at the moment, frowning slightly. "That being said, I recently learned that Akroma is Sephora's mother. She's Isolde's grandmother and so I did share her existence with her because it seemed that she was more genuine. She cares for her children, in a way that only parents can relate to another if that makes sense. Akroma promised to try and keep Isolde safe during the War, unprompted."Of course Akroma was involved. One of her ears twitched backward, a display of annoyance, of discomfort. Her lips pressed together tightly for a moment before she drew in a breath and let it out slowly to calm herself. "And you trusted her?" she questioned, curious but cautious. Rasa had once liked Akroma, but she had made her decision to rot away in Hell, to lead it, even. She could not be trusted after that. This is an opportunity I feel the need to pursue, to show Akroma that Utopia has not turned its back on her even now." Rasa swallowed dryly, both ears flicking backward for a moment. She was unsure of Cadence's decision, but she also was not going to tell him no. It seemed... inappropriate. Perhaps she was too biased against Akroma, against anything that had to do with Xerxes and the Underworld. It took her some time but, finally, she said, "Having her see her children can be arranged, Cadence, of course. Just don't get your hopes up for her redemption." There was a sadness to her tone, and she turned her head, gazing off into the distance for a moment. "Thank you for telling me." She paused, seeming to debate something in her mind, quiet and sullen. "I never did tell you, or anyone, who Leviathan's father is. Perhaps it will explain why I am so hesitant to trust the Underworld." She cleared her throat, shifting her weight from side to side as her tail nervous slapped against her flank. "He was a former Lord of Utopia, along with his mate. Beneath them, I was once name Protector of Patience. I trusted them. I trusted both of them, even after they stepped down." Her jaw was clenching, anger radiating from her from the memories. "Psychosocial was his name. And after I became Lady, he turned his back entirely on Utopia. Attempted to become Lord of the Underworld, I believe. I had no choice but to strip him of his angelic rank and abilities, cast him out of Utopia." Her words were bitter. Regretful. Angry. "He is Leviathan's father. I went to go see him, after he was cast out of Heaven. Clearly, our conversation led to more - but even then, I could not lead him back to Utopia." Her gaze finally whipped back to Cadence, fire in her eyes, her ears pinning all the more against her skull now. "Since then, I've learned that no one in the Underworld can be trusted. The pull of darkness will always be stronger than the pull of peace. Corruption is always going to come out on top. Demons can always rise, but angels fall harder."Rasa | 1096 | ➳ T e c h n o ➳ w/ Cadence notes | she angry and sad >.< timeline | 20 years 8 months, late winter/early spring, after exchanging Sly's soul for Hymn's freedom "Speech"
