If the tiny immortal’s wings had not been doing most of the work, Talia would have been skipping across the verdant grasses of Eden. As it was, she probably could more accurately be said to be skimming, rather than skipping. Either way, it was evident enough that the minuscule angel was feeling quite good. Once upon a time, that would have been the way she always felt, without fail. There had been a time when only once had she truly felt sorrow or fear. Back when she had discovered negative emotion the first time she had ventured outside of Utopia and into Eden, hoping to find Typhizar. Sadness had flooded her, tears spilling from her eyes. And as she had never cried before, she had been a bit frightened by the experience, at least until Oderia had found her and explained what was happening.
The exuberant pace slowed just a fraction, a sigh escaping her then. What had happened to Oderia? She had been the Lady of Utopia before the… experiences that had altered the tiny immortal’s afterlife greatly. Once she had finally returned to Utopia, she was to find that Lady Oderia was gone. Typhizar had also disappeared again, for the second time. She hoped they had been reborn since it seemed that in the first disappearance that was what Ty had wanted. Maybe Oderia had wanted that too? For… some reason.
Talia never had managed to figure out what the appeal was in being reborn. Mortal life seemed so full of sadness and difficulty and just… a lot of unpleasantness. She remembered following her mortal mother around, wanting to offer the mare comfort, to cheer her up… but there had been such a degree of bitterness and anger and Talia honestly had been uncertain how her dam would handle seeing her. So she had remained an unseen presence.
She’d had better luck getting to know her sire, even if meeting him had been entirely by accident. He had mentioned a fair few things that were rather incomprehensible to the tiny angel, but all in all, she had enjoyed the times spent with him. Even if it would seem he had not been nearly as nice to almost everyone else he met. She missed him… but like so many others, he had vanished.
Talia was infinitely grateful that Lady Rasa had not disappeared. Rasa had been the very first angel Talia had met and she could not think of anyone who could have made for a better Lady of Utopia. Not that she really understood matters of qualification enough to truly have a valid opinion in such things… but Rasa would certainly have had her vote if such a thing had been involved.
Almost home, Talia was looking forward to telling Rasa - or any other fellow Utopian with the time to listen – about her morning adventures upon the mortal plane and the friend she had encountered for a second time. Hopefully, she had helped him feel better, just as she was doing her utmost to help her fellow Utopians to feel as happy as possible, despite everything that was happening.
