P y r r h o u sA new sort of life was taking hold of the world. The last snow that'd fallen months prior had melted away and now filled the rivers. Warm breezes replaced frigid winds and the sun shone down on most days. It was the beauty of spring and the fulfilled promise of new life that lifted Pyrrhous's spirits. There was something else on his mind now as well that the season reminded him of - foals. Having come from a farm, every spring there'd be an influx of children and that seemed to be the case in the wild as well. Pyr couldn't help but feel a bit envious each year. The farmers had taken his natural ability to father children - something the feral horses didn't seem to understand. He was thankful that Phaes had never looked down upon him. However, Phaes was a lot kinder than a lot of the others Pyr had met. It was one of the reason he felt so strongly for the stallion. The ivory painted stag often found himself lost in his own frightening world. Typically only Phaes could bring him out of it.
When the two had discovered that they might be able to produce a child by some sort of miracle, Pyr felt like he might faint. He'd never thought it possible. Not when he was younger and not during any of the years from his travels. Yet now, in this strange place he'd made his home, it was a possibility. The couple had discussed it and managed to name a mare that might work to carry this miraculous foal. Eudora - a Clydesdale giant who was one of the most gentle creatures Pyr had met. She tended to the foals of Dark Woods and they'd run into each other a few times prior. Having lived there before (and nearly burnt to a crisp there during the war), Pyr was quick to help plan a return. They'd just need to find Eudora and ask for her help. The bay stag prayed that she'd agree to it. He wasn't the most socially adept and she was one of the few that he actually knew.
The familiar boundary to Dark Woods closed in around the pair as they entered the forest. Pyr cast a nervous look to his mate, feeling a bit uncertain still, but hopeful. "She should be nearby or with the foals," he remarked as his dark brown gaze scanned the trees. "Should we try to call her?" he asked and again looked to Phaes. Pyr wasn't sure he was capable of yelling or any sort of call that could summon someone, his nerves wouldn't let him.
