just give me something to break He prowled through the Free Lands for the first time in a long time. He had not come to the mortal realm since the capture of Nehemiah. It was refreshing, backing back on the surface of the earth instead of below it, so to speak. Due to him capturing Nehemiah with the help of his son, Ouija, Acacias had been granted a higher rank in Hell. He was ready to start doing something with it. He already had a plan in mind that would help the Underworld in the war, and could be devastating for Utopia. He wanted to send Garrick and Lissette "home," back to the place they had been born and raised, and to have them making up a story that he had stolen them away, kidnapped them. He wanted the twins to make it as believable as possible, perhaps even get roughed up a bit before crawling back home. And where was home, exactly? Why, right in the Neutral Kingdom! The very same Kingdom that was guarded by angels, supposedly, though the angels couldn't even guard themselves at this point. Xerxes had just stolen an angel from Utopia and Acacias was amused. Rasa wasn't doing a very good job at keeping up with her subjects and protecting them. The daylight was bright. It was a warm day late into the spring season, closer to noon than it was to morning. Time was a strange concept. In the Afterlife, it was virtually meaningless, but up here in the mortal realm it was what ruled them. The mortals would always run out of time but with immortality brought an abundance of time. Time was never ending. It kept going, no matter who you were. The true God and Goddess of all realms. There was no stopping or changing it. No pausing it. It simply just was and would forever be. Acacias was not fazed by the concept of it, however, and instead embraced the brutal truth. In fact, there was very little that the elder demon was afraid of. Some might say that he wasn't afraid of anything. The Paso Fino would be inclined to agree with that statement. He was fearless. Reckless. Arrogant. He was at Crystal Pools now, the place much less crowded than it typically was. More than likely because of the war. He would not be surprised if most of the residents of Wild Equines were avoiding gathering in large crowds. It would make them an easily identifiable target. Acacias did not think it would be entirely deserted, however. There had to be someone around here, lurking and wandering as he was. He just had to be patient. And if there was one thing the dun brute did not lack, it was patience. He would wait as long as it took. As long as he needed to. Tagged: Open Words: 472 Character: AcaciasNotes: Open to anyone! Timeline: 25 years 5 months, late spring, late morning, after Rasa declares war, after Xerxes steal Sacoorah, first time in the mortal world since taking Nehemiah, after Cadence's Coronation

It had been a long time since Vashti had set foot in any of the freelands. It hadn't been a place she'd frequented as a mortal, and it wasn't exactly a place she wanted to be in as a member of the Afterlife. Truthfully, the demon had felt a little too idle as of late. The last thing she'd done for Xerxes was take the soul of a foolish mare named Inertia. She'd believed that pathetic set of dramatics she'd spouted off to her about Nehemiah. That had been her first encounter hearing about the bronc. The supposed Lord of Utopia. Vashti had never met him, and she didn't really care what he had to offer anyone. She had been at the meeting with the Lady of the Afterlife, and the congratulations bestowed upon two demons responsible for Nehemiah's capture. To some degree, the golden eyed demoness was a little jealous of their recognition. That was something she desired. The recognition, and infamy for what she had done for someone else.
Her ebon bodice slithered through the unfamiliar terrain of Crystal Pools. If she'd believed that merely thinking about someone manifested them, she might not have been surprised to spot one of the demons she'd just been thinking about. Vashti paused her movements, and allowed her sleek black tail to fall neatly against her hocks as she studied the bronc. Vashti couldn't remember which one of the two he was. Vashti was only sure that he was either Acacias or Ouija. It would take her some time to learn the names of others, but the ones that stood out tended to be easier to remember. Their feats had caught her attention. It had caught the attention of the whole Underworld. A flash of jealousy surged through her. She wanted that attention.
Vashti approached the demon and gave a polite nod in greeting to them. "Remind me... were you Acacias or Ouija?" She murmured to him, although she did not give her name away quicklyi. She wanted to know who he was before she introduced herself. "Speech"fleabittengray - Vashti for you !

He walked beside the scattering of pools that gave Crystal Pools its name, his dun figure glistening handsomely in the morning sunlight. He would have looked like your average mortal man, since he’d chosen not to adorn horns or wings, had it not been for the cryptic bullet wound on the right side of his head that constantly oozed blood. It dripped down the side of his face, his cheek, sometimes down his neck and to his shoulder and leg. Other times, the droplets just collected at his cheek and began to trickle down to the earth below. Acacias left a trail of blood wherever he went, unless he chose not to show his demonic form and hid in his mortal disguise. However, the man was here to hide who he was. He only ever hid his demonic self if he was on a specific task from the Lord and Lady. Otherwise, he likes to stay true to himself.
The sound of approaching hooves caught the elder demon’s attention and he breathed out slowly, turning to look toward another equine. Her energy had the same demonic hint to it as his own. She was also a resident of the Underworld, though not one that he was familiar with. "Remind me... were you Acacias or Ouija?" The murmured words were quiet and Acacias realized she must have heard of his deeds, dragging Nehemiah to the Underworld to rot away as he had done. Acacias halted, giving the femme demon. ”I am Acacias,” was his simple response. A beat of silence passed before he spoke again. ”And who are you, and how have you heard of my son and I?”
It was quite random, meeting another demon out and about, outside of fhe Underworld. Acacias didn’t want to risk this being a set up by Utopia.
