The wolf had been begging to go explore more ever since the pair had attended the Light King coronation, but the black mare had been apprehensive. While she appreciated how open, honest, and informative Luna had been about the world of Wild Equines, Bishop had become increasingly more nervous as time went on. Fires, floods, powers, war - where was the safety? Yes, Amaravati had been a well guarded and comfortable home. There was no denying that. But overall, the fem had been struggling to feel secure. It had taken a lot for her to leave the confines of the mountain months earlier, and being around all those strange smelling equines had only fueled her desire not to leave again.
Yet, here she was. Sonya had finally convinced Bishop to make the trek down the mountain again and learn more about the world around her. She had heard all she would have liked to about the Helkaer and Versai, but there was another group that she had heard about that might be worth speaking to - the Vigilum. Admittedly, Bishop had no clue what they did either, but it didn't hurt to ask, right? That's why the canine had been slowly leading her up yet another mountain. Was this world only mountains and jungles? At least the summer day was cooler than it had been, with slight hints of fall as they climbed higher. It didn't take long for them to grow winded, a strange deja vu feeling of the first time they went to Luna's domain. The wolf was able to get ample exercise, but it was difficult for the blind mare to keep up with her.
With their breathing heavy, the pair settled on a well-worn but stable path. Bishop tried not to look nervous as Sonya gently leaned against her front legs in comfort. Is anyone out there? I was looking for.. a Vigilum member? Even with her voice being strained, a small part of her hoped someone would hear and might be able to answer her questions. If not? Well, she hoped Luna would appreciate that she even left the Highlands.

Cassian Things around the mountain had felt a little more stable now they finely had a third member again. It still hurt to think about Casi and the way he had left them. But as time past and the spotted stallion was able to look at it all from a distance he found it left a sour taste in his mouth. Casi has been one of the best of them, and if he could fall, could fail at upholding the rules, then any one of them could. He was starting to understand just how thin an edge they walked. With the war that line was getting thinner by the day. Could he continue to be neutral in a world that was trying to tear him apart and claim the pieces as there own? Could Dur? Or the newly added Nati? It tormented him not knowing. Fearing. He tried to keep busy, to avoid thinking of such. But in the quite of the early morning, as he walked towards the mountain and before his day truly started his mind wandered. So he was glad when the mountain came into view and he climbed the familiar path up. He had only just started, going over what herbs they wound need to start storing more of as the colder seasons crept over the world when one of the many birds that served the Vigilum appeared to let him know someone was approaching up the mountain path. Accompanied by a wolf. Interested Cassian left the cool shallow cave and started back down the path. It wasn't long before the pair came into view. He stopped for a moment out of sight to watch. Her black coat shown brightly in the morning sun and as he watched it became clear the wolf was leading the mare. When he realized that it was easy to see the sings that she was blind. Her sides heaved with deep breaths and wondered if she wasn't used to moving about as much as was right now. When she stopped and spoke softly, the wolf leaning against her legs he began to move towards them once more. Is anyone out there? I was looking for.. a Vigilum member? He made sure to make noise as he approached though he was sure the wolf alerted her to his presence to moment he rounded the bend. "You've found them," He spoke, stopped a respectable distance away, "My name is Cassian and I am indeed part of the Vigilum." He paused for a moment looking her over more closely, he saw nothing overtly wrong with her so decided to speak once more. "Why do you require the Vigilum? Are you hurt? Someone from your home?" Obviously seeking healing wasn't the only reason people sought out the Vigilum, but it was the most common. Tagged: illɘgal Muse: goodWords: 469Notes: <3 Excited for them to meet! Bishop wanted to laugh at the flutter of emotions that were flowing through her - fear, excitement, anticipation, anxiety. Which one had her rooted to the spot in more unfamiliar land, she didn't know. Sonya could feel her nerves, gently nudging the mare's canon. She was thankful for her friend, especially when she heard the sound of approaching hoof beats. Raw, hot panic shot through her. Bishop had hoped she would have a few more moments to gather herself before encountering someone. The panic escalated when she remembered how Luna had initially greeted her - with open hostility directed towards the wolf. The reaction was valid once the priestess had explained why, and Bishop was concerned that that was a typical response when it came to canines. She certainly hoped not.
The panic didn't subside as a growl rumbled from her companion. It was lower than normal, setting Bishop even more on edge. There was a stallion? She fought the urge to bolt, barely remembering that this was unfamiliar terrain and that she was likely to hurt herself. She settled for swiveled back ears and shifting uncomfortably as the wolf's growl grew louder in warning. You've found them. My name is Cassian and I am indeed part of the Vigilum. For a moment, the black mare was at a loss for words. Since her time in Wild Equines, she had managed to avoid any one-on-one interactions with any stallions and even took extreme care to avoid getting to close to any at the coronation. Yet here she was - trapped again.
Why do you require the Vigilum? Are you hurt? Someone from your home? She tilted her crown towards him, unseeing depths settling in his general vicinity. Sonya had quieted, but the rumble was still present. Bishop gently applied more pressure to the wolf's shoulder to ground herself. N-no. We aren't hurt, the nerves hung heavy in her tone as they tumbled from her lips. I- the mare took a deep breath to steady herself. She was blind, not a fool. She shouldn't act like one. We're new to these lands. I... I wanted to learn more about the Vigilum, and maybe about the war that is going on. Her voice was soft, but slowly grew more sure.
Remembering her manners, she gasped softly and awkwardly dipped her head towards Cassian. I am Bishop, and this is Sonya. She - we - aren't a part of the Helkaer, she quickly introduced the pair, the words feeling rushed. We live with the Versai. With Luna. Bishop clamped her mouth shut with embarrassment and anxiety. She couldn't help the nerves around strangers, and they were only amplified when they happened to be a stallion. Why did you think we were hurt?

Cassian Cassian took in the scene as he faced Bishop and her companion, Sonya. The black mare's nervousness was palpable, her posture tense and uncertain as she struggled to control her emotions. The wolf, Sonya, remained close by, serving as a steadying presence for Bishop, but the low growl was a sign of her own protective instincts. Cassian kept his distance, ensuring he did not appear too forward or aggressive, allowing the mare space to find her bearings. The stallion listened patiently as Bishop spoke. Her voice was soft at first, but he could hear the nerves woven into her words. Cassian's expression remained calm, and he nodded thoughtfully as she explained their situation. The blind mare and her wolf were not hurt, but simply seeking knowledge about the Vigilum and the ongoing war. The mention of the war struck a chord in Cassian, and he felt a pang of sympathy for the newcomers.
N-no. We aren't hurt I- We're new to these lands. I... I wanted to learn more about the Vigilum, and maybe about the war that is going on. I am Bishop, and this is Sonya. She - we - aren't a part of the Helkaer, We live with the Versai. With Luna. Why did you think we were hurt? Cassian dipped his head slightly in return as Bishop introduced herself and Sonya, showing respect for the pair. When she mentioned that they were living with the Versai and Luna, Cassian's expression softened further. While the Versai where not innocent in causing harm in the past, they where trying to do better and he liked Xovad and thought of the young stallion as a friend. He appreciated the manners she displayed, though he could see the anxiety she carried. "I appreciate your interest in the Vigilum, Bishop. It's important to seek knowledge and understanding in these tumultuous times," Cassian began, keeping his voice gentle and steady to help ease her nerves. "As peacekeepers, the Vigilum strive to uphold justice and intervene in conflicts to prevent them from escalating. We offer healing and support to those in need and work to maintain balance in these lands." He paused for a moment to allow his words to sink in before continuing. "Your safety and wellbeing are our priority, which is why I asked if you were hurt. Our role often involves aiding those who have been wronged or caught up in conflict and more often than not we are only sought out when someone had been hurt. However, I'm glad to hear that you are not in immediate danger." The stallion shifted slightly, maintaining his respectful distance. "As for the war, it's a complex and volatile situation. The tensions between different groups have been simmering for some time, and while the Vigilum strive to remain neutral, it can be challenging. We seek to minimize the harm done to innocent lives and work towards a peaceful resolution whenever possible." Cassian looked towards Bishop and Sonya with a sense of empathy. "You chose a difficult time to venture out and explore these lands, but it shows courage and a desire to learn more about the world around you. I can share with you what I know about the current situation and our role in it, if that would help." He offered a reassuring nod. "Please, don't hesitate to ask me any questions you have. I'm here to help in any way I can." Cassian stood with an open and approachable demeanor, hoping to ease Bishop's nerves and create a welcoming atmosphere for the mare and her loyal companion.
