x RASA Frustration coursed through her, evident by the way her banner flashed against her flank every so often. Every other stride was interrupted by the sound of her tail smacking against flesh, as if shooing away a pesky insect. Geysir reminded her of how she felt inside. Her rage was boiling over, bubbling hotter and hotter. Eventually, it was going to reach its breaking point and spew over. She could only hope that no one was wrongly affected by it. This may be a war, but that didn't mean that someone innocent had to be harmed because of her rage. She hated that she was full of such a dangerous emotion, which was why she had left Utopia this evening as the sun was setting to venture into the mortal world and hopefully "walk it off." Her wings, usually folded against her sides, were hidden from view. She looked like any ordinary mortal mare, though she looked much younger than her true age of over 20 years. To her left, geysers erupted high into the sky above and Rasa left out a heavy sigh. She ventured close enough to the water to feel the heat, to feel the boiling droplets land upon her but they did not harm to her heavenly bodice, other than dampening the hair a bit. She glanced up at the sky, a mix of fading blue and pink and oranges. Wispy clouds filled the void above and the moon was struggling to start to show itself. Soon enough, stars would begin to twinkle in the sky above, once the sun had sank far enough below the horizon. Rasa could not remember the last time she watched a sunset. It was nice. Peaceful enough to begin to sooth her rage. Her body became less rigid, less tense. Her ears continued to swivel upon her head, listening in for any signs of approaching equines, and her brown eyes were forever searching for anyone - whether she recognized them or not. She wondered if anyone would recognize her, without her wings. Without them, she was pretty but very plain. Just a dark bay with black points and no other markings. Nothing to mark her as extraordinary, even though she was. It would have been easy to be jealous of woman like Teca and Akroma, beautiful and adorned with extras, but Rasa was humble and felt no need to play dress up. She was who she was, and no different. illɘgal w/ Kladdan 408 | ProfileHere we go... 20 years 2 months, early autumn, evening, first war thread of Act 2

The ruby beast was beginning to grow restless on his island. The war seemed to have finally taken off, and so far, he had had one surprisingly meaningful conversation. Meeting the Light Queen had been unexpected and thought-provoking, to say the least. Once back home, he had time to himself to really think about his purpose in this war. His conversation with Nixi had almost left him feeling like a traitor, and while he watched Grim Isle's herd, he realized that it was time to stop playing around and get serious. The beast had to keep his people - especially Kore - safe. No, it was time to stand by his decision and to bring Utopian heads back to his queen.
With the low tide, Kladdan made his way across the sandbar back to the mainland. His dark, scarred legs carried him towards the Freelands, which he had begun to frequent again despite finally having a true home. Hyde remained with Kore as per usual, though it stopped annoying the bay stallion a long time ago. While the canine was small, it brought the young stag some comfort knowing that the filly had a least a little protection when he was gone. She deserved it. She deserved to be safe- and Kladdan would do what he could to guarantee that for her.
The day had started fairly warm for autumn, but the temperature began to dip with the dwindling sun. He decided to check out a new land today, one that he had been interested in seeing. The blood toned stallion was often seen hanging around the hot springs, but his hooves carried him towards the geyser filled territory instead. A new landscape for his new hunt. Why not? As he traversed through the shooting pillars, violet eyes watched the hot pillars shoot up and release a warm spray that felt nice against his skin in the now cool weather. Kladdan snorted softly to himself and kept moving, searching for anyone who might also be searching for that thrill of danger.
His gaze landed on a dark mare, taller and similar in color. He paused in his stroll to watch her relaxed stance with curiosity. Kladdan made no call, merely moved closer to settle to a stop on the other side of the nearest geyser. Amethyst depths locked onto brown ones with a tilt of his head. This is quite an interesting place to take in the sunset. Peaceful - with a sense of danger, his suspicion was layered beneath curious tones as he observed the bay mare. She seemed familiar somehow, though Kladdan knew he had never met her. I've been told that it isn't safe after dark, what with the war and all that. Though I'm not one to heed many warnings.

x RASA She sensed his presence before she saw him. Before she heard him. Being Lady of Utopia did have its perks, even if she was keeping her wings hidden at the moment. She gave no sign that she knew of his approach, keeping her earth toned gaze fixated on the sky. It was simply too beautiful to look away from for something as simple as a mortal approaching her. Had he been a demon, perhaps she would have at least flicked and ear back in his direction, but instead Rasa kept her focus forward. Not even erupting geysers all around her could break her focus. She had nothing to fear, really, from a mere mortal. He had everything to fear from her, if he was part of the enemy. Technically, anyway, but Rasa had not come to the mortal world for violence. She was honestly sick of the war already, but she knew if could not be stopped until it was won. Finally, she could hear the stallion approaching her, his footsteps faint over the rumbling of the earth beneath her hooves. She allowed an ear to gently, briefly, twitch backwards to listen to him before returning to its perked position upon her head. Rasa did not turn to look at him just yet, the corner of her lip could be see lifted into a polite smile as she stallion came up beside her, on the other side of a nearby geyser. This is quite an interesting place to take in the sunset. Peaceful - with a sense of danger, The powerful angel chuckled lightly, finally breaking her gaze away from the sunset and looking at the other bay equine. "I am at peace with danger," she spoke, calm but with a hidden ferocity behind it. It was the truth; Rasa had existed too long in this lifetime to be controlled by danger anymore. I've been told that it isn't safe after dark, what with the war and all that. Though I'm not one to heed many warnings. Not one to head warnings sounded like someone who was of the Underworld aligned variety. They seemed to have more of a lean toward living life on the edge. She thought of Gidge, prancing along the ledge at Kunipar Cliffs. She could still feel how heavy his lifeless body had been, trying to drag him back to shore once he'e fallen over the cliff. "I doubt it's very safe in the daytime, either, what with the war. War does not wait for the cover of darkness to happen." She spoke simply, very matter of fact, giving a gradual shrug of her shoulders. illɘgal w/ Kladdan 438 | ProfileSorry for the quality, just woke up from a nap in hella pain x.x 20 years 2 months, early autumn, evening, first war thread of Act 2

The beast wasn't surprised that the mare didn't quite acknowledge him as he approached. If he was that kind of stallion, he too would have been mesmerized by the beauty of the sunset. His mind was on other things this evening, however. He caught her polite smile but didn't return it just yet. I am at peace with danger. What an... odd thing to say. Contradictory. As if this war was totally normal. The blood-colored stallion didn't respond to her statement before he continued with his usual neutral opening commentary about the war. He hoped that it would help gleam what side of the war this mare might be on without him having to ask outright. There was no tactful way to do so.
I doubt it's very safe in the daytime, either, what with the war. War does not wait for the cover of darkness to happen. He carefully watched her as she responded, not really expecting to be able to read her expression anyway. Truthfully, he was tired of the word games and careful dancing around the subject of the war. He wasn't one to attack someone without a reason, but sometimes he wished he possessed that need for spontaneous violence. Just to make things interesting. He barely even felt the gnawing hunger in the pit of his belly tonight.
Kladdan returned the strangers' shrug with a half-hearted one of his own. Should it? War is as natural as peace, despite us being more in favor of the other, his violet eyes turned to the sunset. Another day came and went- the setting of the sun occurring despite what may be happening on this earth. I can't help but wonder if there was a way for this fight to have been avoided. I may not know much, he lied smoothly as his gaze turned back to the mare. But I do know that I will be a part of the winning side. I am Elias, by the way.

x RASA It felt strange to not expose her wings, but sometimes Rasa just wanted a moment of peace to herself, without being immediately recognized as a member of the Afterlife. Day in and day out, she led Utopia. It was an unforgiving task. She had been Lady of Utopia for many years now, several long years, and sometimes it felt like there was no reward for her endless work toward trying to make Utopia strong, and the mortals safe. And now she'd declared war and there was no stopping it. War had to run its course, whatever that course may be. She could not predict the future. She could only hope that Utopia came out of this victorious and that she would be able to watch many more sunsets in the future without having to worry about being attacked. Then again, so long as she existed, she felt she would always have a target on her back. She would always have enemies. Always be hated by those that did not take the time to get to know her. Constant chaos. When would it stop? Rasa could feel his eyes on her. She wondered if he recognized her, even without her wings. It was possible, though her wings would have given her away entirely. Should it? War is as natural as peace, despite us being more in favor of the other. The angel gave a light chuckle, and besides them, a geyser erupted - loud and powerful, though she did not so much as flinch. "Peace is more favorable, indeed," she stated, though she could not remember a time where Wild Equines was at peace for very long. There was always some sort of bloodshed happening. Evil persisted, no matter how hard they all tried to keep it away. I can't help but wonder if there was a way for this fight to have been avoided. I may not know much Her ear twitched, turning toward him to listen as he spoke. But I do know that I will be a part of the winning side. I am Elias, by the way. Elias. An unfamiliar name to her. He could easily be lying. "I can only hope that, whoever wins, something good will come of it." Again, she gave no hint as to what side she was on. Nor did she state a name for herself. Let "Elias" ask, if he wanted to know. illɘgal w/ Kladdan 401 | ProfileShe's being so secretive 20 years 2 months, early autumn, evening, first war thread of Act 2

If there's one good thing that had come out the war is that the ruby beast had had the chance to meet some interesting equines over the past few months. While the Light Queen had been the most curious by far, this pretty, secretive mare was starting to climb up that list. She hadn't said much which could be suspicious, but he kept in mind that he had interrupted her while she was alone on this quiet evening. Perhaps that was why she was being relatively quiet. If she was suspicious of him or uncomfortable, that was a typical reaction given the whole war situation. Kladdan on the other hand was mostly curious at the moment. Besides her fairly neutral responses and not very open to a more in-depth conversation, the bay mare hadn't given him a reason to be suspicious just yet.
A hot pillar of water shot off near them while he was observing the sunset and his ear flicked back towards the sound and the stranger's chuckle. Peace is more favorable, indeed. Ah, more carefully neutral responses. If things continued, the beast was going to grow bored despite his immense curiosity. As the Dark stallion gave her a false name, the lack of apparent recognition was a good thing. His scarred body and stark, amethyst eyes were easily identifiable if one knew him. While the fem was plain enough that Kladdan might not have even recognized her if he had met her previously, he would have expected an indicator from her if they had. I can only hope that, whoever wins, something good will come of it. The red beast hadn't missed that she didn't provide her name but it did nothing but fuel his intrigue. After all, he only gave her a name to be polite.
A half smile tugged at his scarred lips as an ear flicked back to another erupting geyser as he tilted his head. I suppose the idea of 'something good' will have different interpretations depending on who you ask. Which side are you hoping will come out victorious? Let her choose to keep her identity a secret like Kladdan was, but would she disclose which side she fought for? Of those he had met, they had indeed shared their war alliance, but the conversations had been respectful enough that there hadn't been any bloodshed. Being a soldier for the Underworld didn't necessarily mean he had to attack everyone who supported Utopia. He could be a diplomat and try to swing them towards the proper side, or perhaps get them to step away from the war in general. He supposed it depended on the equine in question. Which direction would be the best to take with the mare? He secretly hoped to add more scars to his ruby pelt but, for now, he would wait.

x RASA Rasa could easily find this stallion's true name, find out if he was lying to her. She didn't want to immediately suspect him but... everyone was an enemy, when you didn't truly know who they were, and to her this man was a total stranger. His name could be a false one. He could actually know who she was and just be pretending not to recognize her. Anything was possible. Years of leadership had left her guarded and suspicious, despite her best efforts not to be. It was just easier not to trust anymore, rather than to blindly give everybody a chance. Don't get her wrong, she would let them prove themselves to her, if they wanted, but it was just easier to assume a stranger was an enemy and be pleasantly surprised if she was wrong, rather than assume they were a friend and be betrayed later. Elias right now was... well, she wasn't sure where he would fall. Somewhere in the middle, in the realm of neutrality, at the moment at least. She had a feeling if he knew who she was, he wouldn't be too happy with it - which is why she had carefully skirted around introducing herself, for now. Elias gave a small half smile and Rasa chuckled softly, her eyes never leaving him even as more geysers around them rumbled and erupted, the ground quaking beneath her hooves. There was no reason for her to panic. The boiling water could not hurt her, not really, and even if it did, she would heal quicker than any mortal would. I suppose the idea of 'something good' will have different interpretations depending on who you ask. Which side are you hoping will come out victorious? Her head cocked to the side, Rasa studied Elias for a moment, debating how she wanted to answer. "I pray that Utopia is successful in their endeavors, with as little bloodshed as possible, on both sides." And it was the truth. Rasa did not want the mortals, her angels, or even the demons to experience unnecessary trauma and sorrow from the war. She would not wish that on anyone (except maybe Charm, that vile beast of a man who had been so cruel to Talia and many other mortals). illɘgal w/ Kladdan 377 | ProfileShe's so mysterious :o 20 years 2 months, early autumn, evening, first war thread of Act 2
