The mare was at first not aware of the large brute approaching, standing mostly with her back against him, but she felt a big, warm presence as he came close, along with the sound of heavy footsteps. Turning her head a little when she first felt him brushing against her, and then heard his voice in her ear, a rare occurance indeed since he rarely spoke at all. Chrysanthemum's heart fluttered with excitement as the large stallion seemed intent on actually conversing with her today, and the fact that he had shown up here today had to speak for something... Didn't it? Despite her outward exuberance, a small flicker of uncertainty danced in the depths of her golden eyes. She couldn't shake the nagging doubt that perhaps she was reading too much into his presence here, at the Couples Retreat of all places. Did he truly enjoy her company, or was he merely indulging her whims out of obligation? "Abaddon!" She exclaimed, her voice lilting with genuine pleasure as she greeted him, though a subtle blush tinged her cheeks as she averted her gaze for a moment. She couldn't deny the flutter of butterflies in her stomach whenever he was near, nor the way her heart skipped a beat at the sound of his deep voice. She didn't fully know why it made her so happy to see him, that time they had spent together while she was healing probably had something to do with it, with him being too stubborn to leave her alone. Despite his gruff personality she had gotten to know him just a little bit, and he had probably learned all too much about flowers and herbs and all that you could do with them. As he inquired about her presence at the gathering, Chrysanthemum's smile faltered ever so slightly, her legs shifting weight back and forth where she stood, her ears gently flicking. "Oh, um, I... I'm here for the flowers, mostly,"She replied, her voice soft and uncertain, but a smile spreading on her lips, something that was never far away for this mare, smiles and happiness and everything sweet and kind. That was just who she was, and she didn't know how to be any different. "And... and the company, of course."Abaddon's gaze lingered on the small pool nearby, and Chrysanthemum followed his lead, her eyes tracing the shimmering ripples on the surface of the water. "It's so peaceful here."She remarked softly, a wistful sigh escaping her lips as she drank in the tranquil beauty of their surroundings. She had come here a few times for the last few months, sometimes meeting new people and sometimes just being alone, both being quite comfortable. Sometimes you needed to just be alone as well, to be yourself, to be alone with your thoughts and dreams. Summoning up some courage, she tentatively reached up to tuck a small bloom in Abaddons mane with her muzzle, having caught it from the edge of the pool. "There."She murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as she admired the way the flower accentuated his light mane. The smile was still there, and she obviously thought that the image was now complete, how could she leave anyone around her without flowers or berries if she had the opportunity to put them there? When the liger cub on Abaddon's back stirred and emitted a soft mew, Chrysanthemum's heart melted at the sight of the cub that she had once saved. "Oh, hello there precious!" She exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight as she reached out to nuzzle the kitten with her muzzle, drawing in the familiar scent of the cub, mixed with Abaddons personal scent, since it seemingly liked to sleep on top of the brute. "How are you two coming along together?"She asked, her gaze flicking back to Abaddon with a curious expression since she had been the one to ask if he could take care of the cub, who had taken a liking to him as well. She wouldn't be able to carry the cub around like he did, and she could never be sure of what her father would do to it, just to hurt her. She wouldn't even be surprised if he did. Standing in the warmth of the sun, feeling it bathe over her coat, seeing how it made Abaddon almost glisten with his white coat and the ligers creamy fur almost halo-ing with it's fuzzy-ness, she felt at peace, even if her heart fluttered just a tiny bit. At peace that this, a type of friendship, could also be nice even if he would never reciprocate any type of feelings towards her. And yet, as she looked into his eyes, she couldn't shake the small glimmer of hope that flickered within her heart. Perhaps, just perhaps, there was a chance that he felt the same way about her. Lost in her thoughts, Chrysanthemum found herself drawn to Abaddon's side, the warmth of his presence enveloping her like a comforting embrace. Despite the uncertainty that lingered between them, she couldn't deny the deep connection she felt whenever they were together. Pressing herself a little against him, she felt how warm he was, and it reminded her about how she had pressed against him when he had stayed beside her that winter as well. She had been so cold back then, and his presence had probably been the only thing keeping her safe then. She still carried scars, most on her legs, as she hadn't quite grown in the coat over them yet, but one day they wouldn't be as visible anymore, and maybe she would forget how ugly they were. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the tranquil landscape, Chrysanthemum felt a surge of warm fuzzy feelings stirring in her chest for a moment, but she decided to push them down for now to just enjoy whatever moment they had. With how grumpy this man was, who knew when he decided to leave again? He sure had been quick to leave her once she had healed from her efforts to save the cub from those wolves. Prickly indeed, this man. tag; medilic notes; So cute <3 OOC notes; 1034 words credit for art - medilic

The excitement in the way she said his name wasn't imagined, was it? She said it with such conviction that he may believe she enjoyed the time spent by his side. As she averted her gaze from him a small rumble of disapproval pushed its way through his chest and out his nares, it was something that surprised even himself. While he was more than happy to fluster the girl, he still wanted her attention, yearning to lock eyes with her pretty sunshine-colored gaze. The sight of her filled him with a strange mix of happiness and unease, and it made his stomach churn. These were trivial feelings and usually, he didn't want to stoke the flame but for her, he may just be willing to. He reached out almost as if to touch her before he watched her smile falter, it made him recoil just slightly something unnoticeable, but it made him realize just how much he didn't want to be the cause of that. As she replied to his inquiry he watched her expressions intently, eyes never leaving her face. He appeared calm and collected as usual but a deeper part of him was curious and happy to be near the much smaller mare. His dome raised as a smirk graced his lips, followed by a small shake of his head in amusement. "Always the flowers with you, of course, it is rather...enduring, isn't it? You are so easily excited, Chrysanthemum." he purred, while it came off rather teasingly and maybe just a little rough, he did mean it. He found her knowledge of all things plants quite cute, well until that interest is mixed into his hair then maybe it's a little less amusing. Then that smile was right back on her lips, and it took everything in him not to smile right back at her, outwardly it came off as a slight twitch of his lips and just the slightest brightening of his eyes. Then she spoke of company, and he paused for a moment before realizing she was referring to him in this moment. "I couldn't help myself from wondering what you were up to, I can't have you getting hurt again." he said rather bluntly, he meant it after all. It wasn't something he was saying playfully but he genuinely could not fathom the idea of her getting hurt especially when he was not around to protect her. Not after what happened last time. She was too sweet, too naive. She was so happy and a large part of him knew that those traits could get her hurt, or used, or stepped all over, but a smaller part of him, a more possessive part, wanted to keep all of her sunshine for himself. As his gaze returned to the pool, he watched Chrys follow it, taking the chance he stared at her reflection from the pool. He nodded at her remark about it being peaceful, he could agree with her. It was rather quiet here but not in a way that made you uneasy, it was rather calming and the solitariness of it all was almost comforting. When she picked up one of the blooms, he let out a soft huff, knowing what was coming next, he lowered his head just slightly. Letting her place the flower within his mane. Her smile was worth him feeling rather out of place and decorated. As she spoke to the kitten and nuzzled against him, Abaddon sighed contently. The kitten was pretty happy about it too as it chuffed and nuzzled against Chrys's face. Abaddon's gaze traced over her face as she spoke, he tilted his head just slightly not quite understanding. "Well I believe, most of the time all he does is sleep on my back." and his back sure did have the scratches to prove it. He believed him and the kit got on just well, but he knew the kitten was always happiest when both Abaddon and Chrys were with him. She was quiet and he did not interrupt her thinking, while he was curious as to what was going on in that mind of hers, he knew if she wanted him to know she would make sure he knew very very well. As she shifted to his side, he didn't move away ready to support her weight if she wished to lean on him. He knew she enjoyed the physical contact and while he was pretty indifferent to it, he was happy as long as she was. He was used to her pressing herself into his side to keep herself warm, and while she no longer needed his heat, he wouldn't say anything about it. A frown formed on his face as he thought about last winter and the scars she had gotten, he too had a few on his body but most were still covered in shaggy fur and couldn't be seen unless you really looked. Except for one on his chest, one that Chrys had been determined to treat with any policies she could find. He was unused to the attention when it came to his injuries, he did not mind scars and usually just ignored them until they faded away. He found his own eyes drawn to Chrys's scars on her legs, and while most could find scars ugly, he knew that it meant she had overcome something and to him, it was just a physical memory of the day she started carving her name into his stone-hardened heart. She was beautiful. Words: 922 Tag: for Chrys faeriiefox Time: Couples event, after winter LAIKA OF GS!

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting its warm golden glow over the tranquil landscape, Chrysanthemum couldn't help but feel a surge of emotions welling up within her. The sight of Abaddon beside her, his strong presence illuminated by the fading light, filled her with a strange mix of happiness and unease. It was a feeling she couldn't quite articulate, one that seemed to tug at her heartstrings in ways she didn't fully understand. The excitement in the way he said her name lingered in her mind, filling her with a sense of warmth and anticipation. It was as if with each syllable, he was acknowledging her presence, drawing her into his world in a way that felt both exhilarating and terrifying. And as she averted her gaze from him, she couldn't help but feel a pang of happiness, even if she knew that she ahd basically forced her company upon him. She did that with most people, because in her eyes everyone was all too stuck up in their own business, they never enjoyed the little things in life! Like.. flowers! And some nice sweet herbs, those were always nice! As he teased her about her love for flowers, Chrysanthemum couldn't help but laugh softly, the sound echoing in the stillness of the evening air. "Of course! Flowers are the beauty of life after all, how can one not like it?"She couldn't help but admit to it, her smile widening as she reached out to tuck another stray bloom into his mane. There was something about the way he teased her that made her heart flutter, that made her feel liek she wanted to buck like a little filly again. That was almost how they had met, after all. Her playing and having fun in a field where they had met, and then she'd come up to him, covering him in flowers everywhere she could. Anyone who knew her would know that she loved every kind of flower, plant an herb there was. But amidst the teasing and laughter, there was a deeper undercurrent of emotion that pulsed between them, a silent acknowledgment of the bond they shared, or whatever you wanted to call it. When Abaddon expressed his concern for her well-being, Chrysanthemum felt her heart swell with a little happiness. "Thank you. For caring I mean." She murmured softly, her voice barely above a whisperk, but with how close they were, he'd probably hear it well and true anyways. "It means more to me than you know."As they both gazed out at the peaceful pool, Chrysanthemum couldn't help but feel a sense of tranquility wash over her. Despite the uncertainties of their relationship, she cherished these moments of quiet companionship with Abaddon. She could hear the cat at his back chuff and shuffle around on the large brutes back, making himself comfortable since he had gotten up to nuzzle her face when she had said hello. As Abaddon shifted closer to her side, like he knew what she wanted, Chrysanthemum felt a rush of warmth spread through her. She knew he wasn't one for physical affection, so she cherished these moments when he allowed her to be close to him. And as she felt his gaze on her, she couldn't help but meet his eyes, her own filled with a mixture of curiosity but also that pure unaffected happiness, like nothing in this world could ever shut down her light. But she eventually turned away her eyes when he also did, instead just enjoying the moment as much as possible. Lost in the quiet beauty of the moment, Chrysanthemum found herself leaning into Abaddon's warmth, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. Despite the scars that marred their bodies, she knew that that winter when he had helped her save the liger cub on his back, would always stick to her mind, and she'd always remember it. How could one forget such a thing? "I'm so happy that you could give him a home with you. I'm afraid my back isn't large enough for him to sleep on." In that moment, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of their surroundings, Chrysanthemum knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be, if fate would have it. With Abaddon by her side, she felt like she could weather any storm that came their way. And as she pressed herself against him, she couldn't help but feel a sense of hope blossoming in her heart. For in his embrace, she found a happiness brighter than what she always thought she had in the flowers and beautiful world around her. If fate would work out, if fate would allow for her feelings to maybe, maybe be answered, she had a feeling that this was truly her home, her place to be. Next to him, no matter their differences. With how utterly unafraid she was with him and all others like him, it wasn't strange for her that she had started to like someone so prickly and grumpy, downright dangeorus, like him. Her father was who he was, and her mother wasn't far off either, neither holding any love for her. She had never been bothered by it, always kept a happy and bright smile that always carried all the way up to her eyes. "So... May I ask why you came here?"She was a little nervous asking that question, something she wasn't that often. Nervous, that is. But she was just too curious about why he had decided to show up here of all places. Sure, she had hoped for it of course, but she had to know why he had decided on doing it. If he decided that he would speak of it. He wouldn't be Mr Prickly if he was easy to talk to and wasn't grumpy all the time, after all. The thought would normally had made her smile, but right now she was waiting for a reply, if he'd give her one. tag; medilic notes; -looks at them- OOC notes; 1006 words credit for art - medilic

Abaddon sighed softly and shook his dome as he watched her, her interest in flowers would always be amusing to him. He was happy to be decorated by her as long as she smiled because of it, and a part of him craved to tell her that. But for now, his actions, his tolerance of everything she does would have to speak for itself. Leaning down before he could stop himself, he plucked a flower off the ground and delicately tucked it behind her ear, he was so gentle, as if he was worried a single touch in the wrong way would have her fleeing from him. He had chosen a beautiful flower; it matched the ones she placed in his hair. If only he could convey to her how she rivaled the beauty of these flowers, how her eyes burned into his skin in a way that made him feel alive, how her voice dug its way into his mind and lingered there long after she departed. Her words brought him back and he nodded. He didn't know what else to say to her, he didn't know if he could find it in him to speak. He turned to stare her down, eyes narrowed as he looked over her face. A scowl appearing on his lips for a moment before he found his words, "I will keep you safe." It was stated rather matter-of-factly, but there was something underneath that, a silent way of telling her no matter what he would always care for her, and he would keep her safe no matter the cost. After all, she was careless too free-spirited she needed him. At least that's what he told himself, let himself believe that's why he cared. He sighed softly as she leaned into him, her weight was comforting in a way. It told him that there was a reason she stuck around, maybe a deeper reason than to bother him. However, did she really bother him anymore? He didn't want to consider the alternative, so he mentally shook himself free of it. Her voice brought his attention back to her, ear flicking in her direction in acknowledgment. He turned his head toward her and stared at her, "I believe his home is when we are together. He may stick with me, but I cannot deny he is happiest when we are both around." he grumbled out, voice rough as he turned back toward the water. Even as he said it, he leaned back into her, letting her know in his way that he was content too. He could only wish for the day he was able to show her how much she meant to him; how much he adored the multicolored mare. How he yearned for her when she was away. If he could find it in himself, be ready to perhaps be even more selfish and claim her for his own. He believed he could perhaps be genuinely happy. Abaddon turned to her and tilted his head as she asked him why he was here. Wasn't it clear why? It wasn't as if he tolerated anyone else enough to even talk to them, let alone stay near them at an event like this. He huffed at her as he shook his head, maybe she needed to hear it come from his maw. "You. Flower, I followed you here. I came here for you. Do you really think I'd end up here for any other reason?" he was serious as he spoke, but the last question was spoken with a gentle taunt. "Would it bother you if I had come here for another?" Curious, oh so curious. He knew he wouldn't let another touch her, but could she perhaps feel the same way about him? His lip twitched for a moment as he pictured her with another. Okay, so maybe she didn't feel as strongly as he would, but he only wanted to know if she cared. He leaned closer, mouth hovering above her ear. His voice dropped, lower than usual, and with a husk that wasn't usually given out, "Chrysanthemum, do not worry alright? My voice and my thoughts are reserved for only your ears, I would not let another near me as I do you. Now, my dear, why are you here? Is there another? Do I need to prove to you why I am the right choice?" his voice grew lower, dangerous, and sharp. There was a threat there, not to her of course, never to her. But he wouldn't be so kind to another if they had been trying to court his flower. He let his breath brush against her ear and the side of her face once more before he lifted his dome and looked down at her. He wasn't quite sure why he was talking so much to her today, but a part of him wanted to see the way it made her react. As the scene unfolded, a gentle breeze rustled the nearby foliage, adding a natural soundtrack to the intimate exchange between the two that stood next to the pool, not disturbing them but adding a soft hum in the background. Chrysanthemum tilted her head slightly, the delicate flower behind her ear catching the light as she met Abaddon's intense gaze with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. His actions, though often enigmatic, spoke volumes to her, stirring something deep within her heart. There was something strange with this man that she had yet to put a finger on, wether it was the lack of speaking or how he just brushed off her happy manners like they were nothing. Most just pretended that she didn't exist if they were annoyed with her, while he seemed... Annoyed, but just stood there. With a soft smile playing at the corners of her lips, she clipped her ear against the flower he tucked behind her ear, a silent acknowledgment of his gesture. "You always surprise me, Abaddon." She murmurs, her voice a melodic whisper that danced on the gentle breeze that swirled around them, lifting their hair for a moment. As he expressed his determination to keep her safe, she felt a warmth spread through her chest, touched by the depth of his commitment, although she couldn't quite understand why he would do such a thing for her. It was usually her taking care of others or hanging after others to get their attention or to decorate them. "I trust you." His words about their companionship being home resonated deeply within her, his words surprising her with how sincere he seemed to be. She hadn't expected the brute to say such a thing, even less say it like he meant it, even if it was just in regards to the cub on his back. She felt herself heat if but for a moment. When he revealed that he came to the event solely because of her, her heart skipped a beat, and she met his gaze with a mixture of surprise and... maybe a little affection. "You... for me?" Her voice was but a breath, barely above a whisper, her pulse quickening at the realization of his devotion. She quieted, realizing that this was what she had hoped for, that he would come here for her, to join her and to maybe... She wasn't quite sure what she had hoped for, but something. As he leaned in closer, his words sending shivers down her spine, she inhaled sharply, feeling the weight of his words settle around her like a protective cloak. Despite the short time they had known eachother, she felt like this was meant to be in a way, and in more ways than one, she couldn't be happier! She could just imagine how many times she would now get to decorate him. In that moment, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the intensity of their connection, she knew that it'd be hard to go back to anything else, to be alone, and she just wasn't the type to care what anyone else would say. Mr Prickly Abaddon had so far shown her more kindness than both her own mother and father, that had to count for something, right? The world around them seemed to fade into the background as they stood there, lost in each other's presence. The sun dipped lower on the horizon, casting a warm glow over the scene as if nature itself is blessing their new bond. As Abaddon's gaze softens, a rare vulnerability flickers in his eyes, revealing depths of emotion she had never seen before in this beast beside her. Even during the winter they had spent together, there had never been much emotion, not enough for her to read this clearly. Was it really for her that he felt so strongly? Realizing she had yet to answer his question, she looked away for a moment, the usual happiness flickering from her eyes for a moment. "... Yes... it would bother me, I think."Even admitting to herself that she would indeed be bothered by seeing him with someone else at this here gathering, was something she hadn't expected herself to do. But she knew when he posed the question that she would have left immediately if he had been here with someone else, because in the end... She had gone here in the hopes and feeling that maybe, just maybe, he would also feel the same, thus coming here. But how did one admit to that when she wasn't even quite sure just what kind of bond they had together? "I'm not here for anyone else, but I wasn't sure if you would come either. But please don't hurt anyone, I'm not worth hurting others over, you know."The way she spoke about it told a story of its' own, like she either had had someone hurt others for her before, or like she herself had been a victim of something unpleasant. tag; medilic notes; -looks at them- OOC notes; 836 words credit for art - medilic
