It is sunny out with a few scattered clouds. It is bitterly cold out to the point that it almost hurts to breathe. The normally sandy arena is covered in a foot of snow and beneath that is a layer of ice. Gladiators must be careful not to slip. There is one pair in the arena at a time, so you will not see others fighting. Not following the setting will result in loss of points. The rules are simply. 800 words per posts, 2 posts per person. The battle starts immediately, you do not have to wait for your opponent to get there like in a normal battle. You can go for them right away. You are out of the tournament should you lose 2 battles. Good luck.
@deadlysecrets will post first and then @cookies

It was cold, bitingly so. Each inhale stung his lungs and every exhale ended with a puff of smoke coming from his nostrils. This wasn't exactly an ideal day for a battle but it wasn't like he got to choose what Mother Nature decided upon. Today was his day to fight in the tournament and there was no postponing it to a day with better weather and warmer temperatures. Besides, who wanted to be that wimp that backed out of a fight because it was too cold? Certainly not him, that’s who. Killswitch was a young aspiring stallion with a lot to prove. The smoky black stallion was the first born son of Disneyland Acid Trip so he knew he had a certain level to live up to and he was more than happy to take on the challenge. His green optics scanned the area as he walked, the snow held the possibility of covering potential hazards. Killswitch wouldn't exactly be thrilled if he got injured before the fight even started so his pace was slow and he was almost certain his opponent would be smart and take the same precaution as him.
Inside of the arena the amount of the snow was exactly the same as his trail here, a good foot of snow. Killswitch paused and snorted his displeasure of the sight. This would be a hindrance. With his head held high in pride he walked with a purpose towards the center of the ring to meet his opponent, some stallion named Jayden. The snow crunched with each step he took and then he slid ever so slightly and once more paused to regain his footing. At least he learned before the fight that there was a layer of ice underneath all of the snow. Rolling his eyes at this new information he continued towards the stallion he would be battling in a mere few minutes from now. The bright rays of the sun bounced off of the snow and into his eyes but at this time of year he was getting used to that so it wasn’t too much of a handicap really.
Killswitch paused and sized up his opponent, searching for anything that would be beneficial to know. Given his younger age bracket the smoky black stag was all gung-ho for this battle so he took the initiative to make the first move. He gave a half rear, giving a warning and eagerness to fight. Jayden needed to know that he wasn’t facing some random young steed with an ego. Jet began to stir as he felt the adrenaline pump faster and faster through his veins. Let me take control, brother. I can win this for us all. His maniacal voice told Killswitch. You had better win. Killswitch warned and all he heard in response was a demonic chuckle from his other personality. It was safe to say that this beast wasn’t sane, especially since he had three personalities fighting for control.
Jet issued a battle cry and moved as quickly as he could, without faltering or slipping, right at Jayden and kept on going. His goal was to make the other stallion unsteady on his feet to give himself the upper hand. With ears pinned to his skull and teeth bared he quickly moved in to attempt to take a bite of Jayden’s left shoulder all while still attempting to push him backwards. Jet wanted to remain the aggressor. He felt Killswitch’s energy urging him to keep up the attack which Jet had no problem doing. All of the snow that was being kicked up from their movements was beginning to get stuck in his thick winter coat. When this was over he was seriously going to need to get warm. His nostrils flared wide to help him breathe but the deeper breaths from the exertions hurt his lungs. Fighting in this cold of weather wasn’t something he was used to but Killswitch was good at adapting so it wouldn’t hinder him for long. As soon as his attack finished he dodged backwards a little bit. He had tried to move quickly but his hind legs skittered a little bit and his rump nearly hit the ground. Jet growled in self frustration but he remained focused on his opponent and was standing in no time at all. His green eyes watched Jayden closely as he waited for his opponent to make his move.
Words: 739 Music: All That Remains: Become the Catalyst Notes: Good Luck!!! =) Attacks: He tried to make Jayden lose his balance and tried to tear a chunk out of Jayden's left shoulder. Dodges: None Yet

Since there was no reply, @deadlysecrets was one round one and @cookies has lost.
