The sky is dark gray and angry. There is almost no sunlight. The snow has turned to slippery, watery slush and the ice is cracking. It is warmer out and a light drizzle has started. It is still windy and thunder can be heard in the distance. Each player still does two posts each and they must be 1000 words or less. Remember to include previous injuries or points will be deducted.
@deadlysecrets will post first with Killswitch followed by @cats with Serena

The smoky black stud was in pain and he had only beaten his last opponent by a hair. He had taken a lot of damage in that fight and he had plenty of wounds to show for it. His left ears was completely gone, the only remnants of it was a freshly scabbed over nub that still hurt in the violent wind that allowed the cold to further seep into it. There was a two inch cut under his right eye that was currently swollen and the left side of his face was also swollen with a side dish of bruising. His face wasn’t the only place to receive damage though. The left side of his rump was bruised and stiff while his front legs shared the bruising as well. Despite the injuries and the pain they caused here he stood at the entrance of The Coliseum for round Three. He would fight until the bitter end and then continue to fight even more. He wouldn’t give up. There was no doubt in his mind that he was going to avoid future injuries and he didn’t care about all the scars and wounds he was going to receive. All that mattered was that his opponent left with the same amount or even more injuries than he did.
He walked with a small limp coming from his left hind leg because his hip was groaning in pain but he ignored it, just as he ignored the pain from the rest of his battle tired body. The sky was nearly as dark as night which was good for him because his pelt was also almost as dark as the night. It would allow him to blend in a little which could be an advantage for him in the future. There was the faint rumble of thunder in the distance but the stag ignored it. His entrance into the arena was far from grand but he walked with his head held high, ready for whatever this battle would throw at him. As he walked his legs pushed the slushy mix out of his way and he noted that the ice was beginning to crack. The ground was still a bit slippery but there was a lot more traction than there had previously been. Hopefully this meant that he wouldn’t be turning the ground into a Slip ‘N Slide again.
This time around his challenger was a mare; some mare by the name of Serena. The green eyed stag had no idea who she was but that didn’t mean she was some weak creature. She couldn’t be if she had made it this far in the tournament. Even though he was facing a mare he wouldn’t go easy on her. Jet was ruthless in battle which was why Killswitch gave him full control over their shared body without any argument what-so-ever. The young stag turned to face his opponent and sneered a devilish little grin towards the wench. “Time to add a few more scars to that pretty hide of yours.” Jet snarled at Serena. Without any warning he surged forward. His left hip was slow in action but he worked through it, ignoring the burning pain he felt in that area. Right now there was no room to feel pain and Jet refused to let pain enter his brain. It was a weakness that they didn’t need. His attention was dead set on attacking this mare that he knew absolutely nothing about. She chose to do this tournament so he would show her no mercy at all.
As he reached his feminine opponent the smoky black stag reared on his hind legs and struck out with his front legs. His hooved flailed furiously as he aimed for her face, and more specifically her eyes and ears. He wanted his weaknesses to become her weaknesses. Jet was a bit bitter about letting Nirvana rip his ear off his head and Serena was going to get the brunt of that fury. It wasn’t her fault but she was here to fight so he would take full advantage of that. When his assault towards the mare ended he landed on the ground with a ‘sloshy’ sounding thud, spraying slush in the process, but his attack didn’t end there. As soon as he landed Killswitch lashed out with his teeth and he aimed to take a chunk out of her right cheek before he turned a loped a few feet away. A gust of wind blew through the area and tossed some of his made over the stump that was once his left ear. The cold breeze stung all of his healing cuts but he ignored them all.
With flaring nostrils he looked at Serena to see if he had managed to do any damage at all. Even though it was only drizzling Killswitch was on his way to looking like a very large wet dog. With the melting snow and ice being kicked up from his hooves, his underside was almost saturated. Now it was Serena’s shot to make her mare on the smoky black stag and Jet welcomed her to come and try her best on him. He would be ready for whatever it was that she threw his way. His front legs groaned a little as he stood there, his canon bones weren’t thrilled about being used in such a manner so soon after being bruised. All he needed was more motion to get him through the discomfort. Movement meant his mind was focused on something other than his screaming body.
Words: 927 Notes: Round 1 Injuries: None, opponent never showed. Round 2 Injuries: Left ear torn off leaving a nub, bruising on the left side of his rump, left side of his face is swollen, 2 inch cut under his right eye that is slightly swollen, bruised front legs (canon bones) Music: Three Days Grace: Animal I Have Become Notes: Good Luck!!! =) Attacks: Charged at Serena and reared. He flailed his front legs hoping to do damage to her head- mainly her ears and eyes. When that attack was over he aimed to take a chunk out of her right cheek with his teeth before getting finally ending his attack. Dodges/Damage Done: None yet

A beautiful 16hh tall mare was standing completely still in the now famous Gladiator Arena. A warm breeze caressed her slender chocolate body and moved her hair around playfully. The young mare enjoyed the warm touch of the wind and welcomed it after the harsh cold from last battle. But as soon as she opened her eyes the feeling of complete warmth was gone. The sky was filled with more clouds and they seemed to become darker by the minute. The snow beneath her feet had only melted for a small fraction and the slush that was created because of this was sucking at her feet. This would make the battle so much harder than it would already be for Serena. Because there was still ice underneath the slush she already had to move with more care and with the sucking at her feet she stood the risk of twisting her ankles. Besides that she had almost no fighting experience and the risk of fighting a more skilled horse was getting bigger and bigger as she was advancing higher in the tournament.
Pulling herself out of her thoughts she gazed toward the equine that was to be her opponent for this match. He was an impressive stallion enhanced by the fact it was obvious that he carried draft blood inside of him. Although they did not differ much in height Serena could not help but notice how the steed had a lot of muscles. She felt small in his presence and felt nervous for the battle to come. As she inspected him she noticed her challengers face was flawed. His left ear was missing and had only left a stump in its place. It was also clear that he had been hit hard underneath his right eye, there was a big swelling as proof of it. Serena thought she might take advantage of this. He would either hear worse on his left side or see worse on his right side. She did not see any other wounds but of course some wounds were invisible, like her badly bruised shoulder.
She had been hit on her left shoulder twice now, causing it to be badly bruised. For as far as she knew it was not broken but there was a good possibility that there were some hairline fractures in her shoulder blade. The wound on her neck had now completely stopped bleeding and it did not bother her much except when a hard gust of wind hit her neck. At least her neck muscles were still intact.
The stallion in front of her kept walking to the middle of the arena making sloshing sounds each time he lifted a hoof, slightly limping with his left hind leg. He seemed calm and in control of the situation when all of the sudden his expression changed as if he became a different horse. Time to add a few more scars to that pretty hide of yours! he snarled at her, his voice echoing through the arena. His words made her shiver, getting scared of the anger behind them. She had not expected him to be this unpredictable and she raised her guard even higher. Suddenly the muscled giant flashed forward towards her with a speed she could not imagine because of the pulp beneath their feet, instantly losing all sign of injuries. The way he charged at her reminded her of her previous two fight where she was attacked in the exact same way. Within seconds the savage was close to Serena and he reared up, aiming his hooves towards her face. She turned away to the left, causing the stallion to hit her on her right shoulder. She knew she had no other possibility to dodge it because moving too fast would put her in danger of straining her feet. If that happened she would be out of this match.
Using the time the stallion needed to get his hooves from her shoulder to the ground she half turned around and bucked, aiming to hit his chin with her hooves. As she bucked though, she felt a sharp pain shooting through her left shoulder, the previous fights had caused a lot of damage, and with the now also injured right shoulder she lost her balance, falling on the ground with her fore legs. She heard the fighter land on his feet and a second after it she felt a burning pain in her right back leg. She got up as fast as she could being careful not to slip. She turned around to see he had paced away a few feet, inspecting her with flaring nostrils. It gave him an even scarier appearance and Serena lost some of her faith.
This was not a good start of a fight at all. She now had two injured shoulders and an injured back leg. Just standing on her legs hurt, but she had no doubt it would become worse when the adrenaline would leave her body. Discouraged she recklessly charged toward the stallion, just wanting to give him some sort of injury to repay the pain he was giving her. She mimicked his first attack, rearing above her opponent and aimed her hooves at his chest while simultaneously trying to bite in his most sensitive area, his nose. With her desperation it was the only thing she could think of.

The chocolate mare was unsure of him, wary of him. This pleased the black brute and gave Jet even more fuel. Yes, fear and fighting. That was what he loved and lived for. The angry and ruthless personality was in his full glory right now. Her frame was much more slight than his despite the fact that only point one of a hand separated them. Jet wasn’t thinking that this would be an easy fight, he never thought that way. His brain was only making mere observations to best determine the moves that he should use on her. It would be best to keep her wary and slightly afraid of him. Of course he had things that would hinder his performance. His ear heard fine but due to the swelling of his right eye is was slightly less than one-hundred percent, but not anything exponentially damaging to his being. However he was beginning to notice a pain in his chin, something he hadn’t realized earlier. That damned wench had reared up at him in between his attacks and one of her hind hooves had managed to come in contact with the underside of his maw. His bottom jaw hurt from the attack, but it was nothing compared to losing an entire ear. His green eyes narrowed on her in a rather creepy way. She was going to do some bigger damage than that in order to make him remember her.
He noted that there was a wound on her right back leg. Yes! He would leave a scar upon her hide. Damage done was a point towards him and Jet’s ego spiked even more. The smoky black beast saw the frantic look beginning to enter her eyes and his creepy looked intensified. Oh, yes, he would enjoy this battle very much. Killswitch stood there was Serena surged forward and charged at him, she was mimicking his first attack and he was curious to see where she was going to go with this. The wind raced as fast as Serena but he paid no attention to good ‘ole Mother Nature because he had a pretty little chocolate damsel charging at him with the intent to do him harm. Oddly enough Jet found himself slightly aroused by the thought of it. Get your upstairs brain functioning, Jet! We’re still fighting a battle not getting ready for the sex-capades! Killswitch roared from the back of their shared brain. Jet ignored his brain neighbor because he had the whole situation under control. Or maybe not because before he knew it his chest felt like it was one fire. That brought him back to the now and away from the argument going on inside of his brain just in time to move his head. Serena had managed to nick him slightly on his nose but there was no blood. His nose was just going to be a little sore for a few days.
Jet wasn’t fond of the feeling of pain on his chest. Her front hooves had managed to make their mark. He would certainly remember her but Jet had had enough of a mare doing harm to him. It was time to show his ugly side once more to this bitch and make sure she remained afraid of him. Serena never pulled away from him. The stag could tell that she was getting frantic which probably meant that she would keep going and going until she died from fatigue or her mind got a grip on itself. Either way he wasn’t patient enough to wait for either of those factors to kick in so he just went right along with her and threw in his own assortment of attacks. First off, he reared onto his hind legs and instead of flailing his legs he did a mean ‘one two’ kind of kick aimed at her skull. When he came crashing to the ground the slushy snow splattered everywhere. Some of it was tinted red from the blood coming out of the wounds on his chest; three large gashes. Noting that he was on her right side again Jet used his bulk to ram into her. Granted that since he had no running start to give him momentum the slam wouldn’t be as forceful or damaging but he was aiming to throw her off balance. Once that was over he reached out with his teeth towards the right side of her rump. All he wanted to do was to take giant chunks from that supple backside of hers. During the assault his mouth lead his front legs kicked out and he tried to do some more damage to her right hind leg. It looked like a half rear gone terribly insane which was very accurate since this particular beast did have some mental problems.
His final attack was finished and he moved away from the brown minx. His front legs were tender and his movements were less than flawless. The enflamed canon bones weren’t at all happy about being thrown into such taxing situations and his front legs quivered slightly from a mixture of pain and exhaustion. Who knew a lithe mare like this one could do the damage that she had done. Droplets of blood continued to leak from the three large gashes on his chest and the right side of his rump was still groaning in protest to all of this movement. He was grateful that his nub of an ear was keeping quiet in the pain department for now. His green eyes squinted as he tried to see her better in the darkness. The two of them were like shadows moving in the darkness. At least her mane and tail was a lighter shade than the rest of her body. Jet waited, for Serena to begin her next wave of attacks and he wondered slightly if she would be just as frantic as she had been before.

Round 2 Injuries: Left ear torn off leaving a nub, bruising on the left side of his rump, left side of his face is swollen, 2 inch cut under his right eye that is slightly swollen, bruised front legs (canon bones) Round 3 Injuries: Pain in his lower jaw from being kicked. 3 large gashes on his chest, bleeding heavily. Music: None Notes: Good Luck!!! =) Attacks: Charged at Serena and reared. He flailed his front legs hoping to do damage to her head- mainly her ears and eyes. When that attack was over he aimed to take a chunk out of her right cheek with his teeth before getting finally ending his attack. Reared and did a 'one two' kick at Serena, aiming for her skull. Rammed into her, aiming to throw her off balance. Final attack was a half rear kicking his front legs out to try and do damage to her right hind leg while trying to bite at the right side of her rump hoping to tear chunks from her hide. Dodges: Moved his head to the side and avoided most of her bite towards his nose, but not completely because it's now sore.

The battle was exhausting all of Serena's reserves. She had never fought before or let alone do anything that required a lot of stamina. She began to think it might have been a foolish thing to join the Gladiator fights without considering the risk of being injured or maybe even killed. Serena had only thought of the fame and glory she would receive if she would win, it was naive of her really. She had just finished her attack against the stallion and landed with all hooves safely on the ground. She felt it was slippery but the suction of the pulp made it a bit less likely to just fall, which would have been the risk when fighting on plain ice. The pain in her back was bearable at this point. The adrenaline through her blood made sure the amount of pain she could endure was higher than normal. Her front legs where shaking though under the weight of the heavy equine body. Her shoulders had been abused three times in a row now and the consequences were beginning to express themselves.
Serena had not moved away after her latest attack because she did not have a clear mind at the moment. The pain she was suffering and the blood spilling from her opponent made her wary. She was not a cruel mare by nature and the thought of harming another this badly made her a bit upset. Was it all worth it? She was literally smashed into reality by two hooves smashing into her head. The stallions’ right hoof had hit her on the cheek and his left hoof directly behind her ear. It felt like her skull would split in half and like her ear was crushed. She was not certain of the first but she could not move her right ear at all. Stars appeared in front of her eyes and a loud buzzing noise overwhelmed her. She stepped away from him a few paces instinctively while trying to regain her senses. Very quickly the blurred vision became better again though that did not count for her hearing, it was as if she was under water.
She noticed the steed had landed on her right side, moving towards her so he could slam into her. She knew another blow to her shoulder might lead for her to be out of the tournament so as quickly as was possible with the slushy ground she moved out of the way. Placing herself diagonally in front of him she bucked again and kicked as hard as she could, aiming for his chest again. Maybe she was an unskilled fighter but there was no skill needed to know that any touch to a chest that wounded would hurt badly. Upon landing she felt a cutting pain on her right backside. The impressive stallion had bitten her, creating a large cut from her back to her tailbone. It hurt a lot but it could have been worse. Because she had dodged the attack before this one she had placed herself in a different position than her opponent might have expected, resulting in a less powerful attack than hoped. Without having the chance to think of her next move she was bitten again, this time in her right hind leg. What is this madness? I can’t even think and that bastard already made his next move. I have never met a horse that could strike this fast and ruthless. His head is vulnerable now though, this is my chance to strike!
Using his position to her advantage she turned around clockwise, trying to move her backside the least that was possible. Hoping he would not notice her sudden around in time she lashed out with her teeth on his right side trying to rip off at least a part of his right ear. He should be repaid for her pain and one ear lost and the other damaged seemed like a fair deal to Serena. As her final attack she reared up and thrashed her legs at the steed, hoping to hit either his face or his neck. When she finished Serena trotted away from her enemy –although limping- and came to a stand 10 meters away from him. She would make sure there was enough distance between the two of them as they reached the end of the battle.

After being hit on the shoulder, she turned around half and bucked, trying to his Killswitchs chin with her hooves. 2. Serena reared, aiming her hooves towards his chest while simultaneously trying to bite his nose. 3. After dodging his body slam, Serena bucked and tried to hit his chest again. 4. After his bite in her right hind leg, she turned around (pirouette like, minimal movement in hind body) and lashed out with her teeth trying to rip a part of his –so far- unharmed ear. 5. Reared up trashing her legs, hoping to hit his face or neck. Dodges- 1. Serena dodges Killswitchs bodyslam
