Tsul looked to the small filly before him, then to the mare who had birthed her. A daughter? Again? How annoying. The mare nudged the small body towards him, then stepped a few paces back. Oh. "It's your job to take care of her, not mine." the mare just looked at him blankly. If they hadn't been encouraged to breed, he would have never done such a deed with her. He hated breaking his purebred line with the nag in front of him. The result seemed to be a shivering creature looking at him with big and fearful eyes. Also another female....was he cursed to only have one disappointing son?
The mare known as Eternia went further back, making it more than clear that she was not dealing with the small filly. Tsul sighed in frustration then looked down to the small female again. "I guess your leaving me with no other choice. Come Alka, lets leave this nag to her plots." he turned away from the mare, expecting the filly to follow. At first it didn't looking back to her mother with those big wide eyes. Eternia didn't even acknowledge the look, leaving the filly there. The small female decided to follow the only one who had given her any attention. The big black brute with golden eyes seemed like the safer of the two evils in any case.
Alka...that was what he had called her...right? Was that her name now? He had said it so easily, as if he had already decided upon it. The small filly gave a small smile, as she caught up with the male demon. He glanced back to her as she reached his side, his golden eyes seeming to flash momentarily. Alka felt the small smile leave her face, somehow feeling that it was not approved of. Still the small female was glad that at least someone was taking care of her. It was a scary place that she had been born into, and mother had never talked to her even as she left her with this stallion.
Tsul huffed and turned his attention forward again as he led her to their home. What a pain to be left with the small filly. Well....at least this way he could give her the proper training without interference from the mother. Not that the mother could possibly have a good influence on the child, being of the same mindset. Upon reaching their home, he looked down to the filly, wondering where to begin with her. With each of his children he had changed their training according to how they seemed to develop. Like with his son, he had focused on fighting since the younger male had seemed strong. With this little fiend, with her horns facing backwards, and her pelt of different hues...he knew nothing. She hadn't even spoken, just watching him with her big eyes...at least there was no fear there now.
It wasn't until he really looked at her that he noticed that each of her eyes was a different color. One gold like his, and one silver like her mothers. And that odd symbol on her white forehead...that was something he had not seen before. A frown formed on his features, and he lowered his head closer to hers. She was the only fiend he had ever seen personally and she was his to care for now. How would it be different from raising a mortal foal? Tsul had a feeling that raising this young filly was going to be a new experience for him. "Can you talk?" he asked, wondering if the mother had even bothered with speech. The young filly tilted her head in confusion, and Tsul gave a sigh of frustration. Great, the little thing was likely mute for all he knew.
He turned his head away in disappointment until a small voice broke the silence. "Talk?" Tsul looked back to the filly, who had apparently only caught the last word from his question. Well, at least she could speak, that was a good sign. "Yes...talk. It is how normal equines communicate." The filly stared up at him while he spoke, her ears tilted forward with interest. "Communicate." Tsul narrowed his eyes. Was she simply repeating the last words he said? The small thing did not seem very smart. What a pain. Tsul gave another huff and turned away from her "Never mind, this is pointless." he was not about to stand here all day trying to teach a filly how to talk in such a manner. If she chose to be silent like her mother, that was fine by him. He didn't have the patience to deal with this.
Alka had caught all the words, but she wasn't used to hearing her own voice. Her mother had never really encouraged speech. But now she had upset father, perhaps from only speaking so little? He said it was pointless, breaking her poor little heart. What had she done wrong? Her speech did not please him? Confused she decided to try again, this time with more words, maybe that would make him happy? "Father wants to communicate with me?" his head turned her way so fast it scared her a little. His golden eyes seemed to flash in anger as they came to meet hers. The poor filly started to shake, and she could feel tears come to her eyes. "I-I'm sorry...I did not mean to upset you father." the tears were spilling down her face now. "Stop that nonsense."
Alka sniffed, but couldn't stop crying anymore than she could stop shaking. The male before her lowered his head to her level again, his golden orbs meeting her mismatched ones. "I said stop that Alka." the small filly only cried more, the threatening glare of her father scaring her more than anything else had to this point. The stallion simply glared at her as she continued to cry and shake, then he gave a disappointed huff and turned away from her. He left her there, not wanting to deal with her emotions. Alka watched him go, feeling confused and sad and lost. She stood there crying, wondering why it was wrong...why it upset her father so much. Was it not normal to cry? Alka lowered her head and stood there alone, crying silently and wondering why she had been left alone.
