History: Bernie was only about two years old, a new filly who was brought to the breeding farm to be used as a brood mare. Though though the careless actions of a new stable hand, the young filly was left alone while in her first heat. She didn't quite know what to do with herself as she paced around the pasture. She could hear and smell the stallions in the near by barn and soon she was brought into an indoor ring.
Names must have been gotten confused as one of the studs was put into the ring with her. The barn believed in natural coverings so not much was supervised by the humans. It did not take long, but the breeding was quick and violent. So many things went wrong and she ended up pretty banged up. When they found her and the stallion, it was a quick panic that stirred up the whole place.
The vet came to see her and assured the owners that she was to young for the breeding to take place hold and that she should probably be be bred with a lesser stallion for her first time when she got older. They put her back into the pasture on the other side of the property and seemed to forget about her. As she started to grow they passed it off as her growing into a mare. One night with heavy rainfall, the poor young filly was forgot about out there alone. The lower pasture flooded and she got away, ending up deep into the wild.
She infection took hold in her leg and she slowly got blood poisoning. She tried to live long enough to make her way back to the humans, but something tore her soul away from the mortal life. Bernie never accepted the fact that she was pregnant.
