Name: Aubrie
Breed: Quarter Horse x Paint Horse
Age: 8 at time of death
Personality: Aubrie is a tough and fierce mare, always ready to fight for what she believes is right, but she is gentle towards those she loves. She also is rather intelligent, never rushing into anything without planning first. She has an excellent mind for strategy, and can back it up with well-honed skills in battle. Having lived in exile for a while, she is very self-sufficient, and tends not to trust easily. She is very blunt about all manner of things, although she has learned to filter her thoughts when necessary. Though she isn’t the sort to back down from a fight, she doesn’t start fights either. When she was younger, she was a hot-headed creature, but experience has dulled that trait. Possessing a strong sense of right and wrong, she is always prepared to argue against the wrong that she sees in the world. She would defend those that she cares about with her life. Aubrie is a strong believer in fighting for one’s convictions, of the opinion that if you believe in something you should be willing to fight for it.
History: Aubrie was born in a Neutral herd far from the lands of Wild Equines. Her early life was relatively peaceful, though she was always challenging other foals to races or to mock-battles, especially when they said something to insult her or her friends. She got into quite a few scuffles with colts this way when they tried to make sexist remarks. But over all, it was a happy life, a peaceful life. She was loved by her parents and had many friends, and was happy in her quiet herd. Then, everything changed. The Dark alliance of her homeland banded together, attacking the Neutral kingdom, and the Neutrals, unprepared for the sudden assault, lost. Aubrie and some of her friends were some of the lucky ones. They were able to run, to escape enslavement or death.
They met up with others who had managed to run or hide as well, and soon a small group of rebel Neutrals formed, setting other members of their alliance free when they could, arranging strikes on the Darks. Though the group was small, they were fierce and trained themselves well, and soon more of the horses that were freed were added to their cause. Aubrie herself moved up the ranks of the rebel band rather quickly, her strength in battle and her strategic mind making her useful as a leader. They had many victories, and became a legitimate threat to the Dark alliance with their quick, ferocious strikes on isolated units. They began to organize a proper rebellion of all the slaves and captives of the Dark alliance, a great number of horses. But they were doomed to fail, for there was a traitor in their midst, planted by the Darks, disguised as an escaped slave. The leaders of the rebellion were caught, sentenced for death. The band of rebels was crushed. But they were careless with Aubrie, and she managed to escape, heading for the desert where none would dare follow her.
She made a life for herself there, her ferocity coming to new uses keeping herself alive. She even had a daughter there, naming her Rylie, the result of a one-night stand with a stallion. Still, she planned to go back, to start a new rebellion when the Darks least expected it, once her daughter was old enough to fend for herself. But that never happened. When her daughter was two years old, a great storm swept the lands, bringing flooding with it. Aubrie and Rylie were both swept away, and Aubrie drowned in the waters. It has been about two years since that day, and her soul has drifted to the lands of Wild Equines, following her daughter.
Cause of death: Drowned in flood
Important Life Events:
- Born into quiet Neutral herd
- Neutral alliance was overthrown by the Darks, she managed to escape
- She became a high-ranking member of a band of Neutral rebels, helped to free slaves and generally undermine the Darks
- Rebel group failed, she managed to escape execution by running to the desert
- Spent the rest of her life in the desert, had a daughter there
- Drowned in a flood caused by storms
Going to Utopia or The Underworld?: Utopia
Why do they deserve it?: Aubrie has always tried to do the right thing, and has succeeded in that goal. She was never over-the-top or cruel in her battles, and has done many deeds to combat evil in the world. She always showed mercy when she could, conscious of not wanting to become like those she fought. She raised her daughter with love and kindness. Besides, her sense of morals is far too strong for her to fit in well in the underworld.
