Canon Challenges
As of May 1st, 2020, canon positions are challengeable. However, specific criteria need to be met prior to the positions reaching a challengeable state.
- As per canon rules, canon roleplayers must post once every 15 days in order to keep their positions and every 12 days to keep it strike free. A record of this is kept in the Canon Activity Thread.
- If a canon roleplayer does not post and update the Canon Activity Thread within their 15 day time limit, they receive a warning on their canon. From this point, they have three days from receiving their warning to post in order to keep their canon. If they do not post within the 15 day time limit a second time, they forfeit their position.
- In addition, for every time a canon roleplayer posts and updates the canon activity thread within the last three days of their time limit (days 13 - 15), they will receive a strike on their canon. This is to monitor canons who are being posted at the bare minimum. Strikes will be represented by the numbers 1, 2, 3. These strikes will remain on their canon for 6 months. (If new strikes are earned while a canon already has 3, the newest strike will be added and the oldest removed. This will maintain 3 strikes, but keep the position challengeable if the canon continues to post on days 13-15.)
- Once a canon position has reached three strikes, OR has two strikes plus a warning, the position will be made challengeable, and this will be recorded in the Canon Activity Thread and evidenced by CHALLENGEABLE being written next to the canon.
*Please note, canons who had warnings on their account at the initiation of this mechanic will be exempt from the "two strikes plus a warning makes them challengeable" rule, until their warning at this time expires. - In the case of the Versai, Vigilum, and Helkaer, positions will only be challengeable if there are no other open positions at that time (excluding open apprentice positions).
to challenge for a position
- In order to be eligible to challenge for a canon, you must meet certain activity requirements. These requirements are that you must post at least once every 15 days for 3 months prior to challenging (this means no immediately made characters may challenge for a position).
- Challenges will be done in a modified audition format, including an IC battle. Please ensure you have read up on our battle rules prior to challenging for a position.
- Canon challenges will all have the battle rules of 3 hits, 1 dodge, 5 days to reply. However, extension can be given on days to reply if it has been agreed upon by both parties involved.
- Challengers will initiate the thread by filling out the audition form below, accompanied by their first post of their character approaching the battlefield. The OOC portion of this form will depict why they want the position, and what they plan to do with it. The judges will use this to screen the character and ensure they are suitable for the position. It is expectation that in this post, the opponent is tagged in order to notify them of this challenge.
- The challenged will reply second with their IC post of their character coming to the battlefield to encounter their opponent.
- Judging will take place after the battle has been completed. The winner of the battle will be awarded the position.
