Round 2
It has been approximately a day after the first round of battles were completed. The contestants were able to rest overnight, however, they are now feeling the extent of the injuries they received as they awake the next morning. The storm that had threatened the territory yesterday had held off, but today, it rages. Despite it being well into the daytime when the battles take place, the clouds are dark, dimming the earth below. Snow is falling forcefully, beginning to gather upon the ground. Today, all the battles will take place in the same vicinity - in the hilly plains to the south of the Colosseum. With the different sparring matches taking place so close to one another, not only will each individual competitor need to keep an eye on their own specific opponents, but other equines nearby as well.
Please remember that this post serves as the first post of the battle. It is taken as though both your characters are now present, and your following posts will begin the fighting (unlike regular battles where one equine enters and has to wait for the other to arrive). All battles are fought with the rules 3 attacks, 1 dodge, 3 days to reply. There will be no extensions given out, no exception. As these are meant to be shorter, quicker battles, the maximum word count is 800 words. *If the second poster finishes the thread with an attack, the first poster may post OOC to describe the results of said attack prior to judging (still needs to follow the three day rule).
Please ensure you utilize the battle for just like regular battles. Pippin , you were drawn to post first. You have 3 days from this point to make your first post. Let the battles begin!

Danika had limped home last night beaten. She had been disappointed to loss her first match. Especially to that arrogrent upstart Helkaer stallion. But no matter, she had learned some things from that first battle and was ready to give it her all in this next round. The storm that had threatened all the past day had finely broke and now snow fell all around them today, thick and cold. It cast the world in an odd eerie quite. Even though the area was packed with horses the place sounded muffled and though the teams where placed almost on top one other they seemed distanced.
Danika stood still as she waited for the call to start the match. She eyed her next opponent, trying to work out a quick game plan in the seconds she had before the battle would began. He was massive, at least 20 hands. Causing him to tower over her meek 15. I can't let him close with me. She thought to herself, knowing that in outright strength this beast had her well over-matched. Speed and agility would be her saving grace here. As a small draft breed herself she was not as agile or fast as some lighter breeds, but she should at least be more agile than him. She shifted her weight slightly and felt the pull of sore mussels. She hoped her bruised shoulder would not hinder her need for agility over much.
He was covered in old scars and as the call to began sounded Danika wondered if it meant he was good at fighting and winning, or bad. She had no more time to think about that though as suddenly all around them the clearing burst into movement as contestants closed with their respective opponents. She dashed forward, her shoulder burning slightly with the movement. She was charging right at him, her goal to step to the side at the last moment and as she ran past attempt to kick out at his side or rear end and let her momentum carry her back out of his deadly range. She just had to be carful she didn't end up in the middle of one of the other battles, they where packed in so tight together.

Hound
rip and tear until it is done Hound had awoken that day to the familiar dull ache in his body, the one he had grown so used to prior to coming to these strange lands, prior to his sickness. He, and the other gladiators, had rested during the night, allowing their bodies to recover as much as they could do. Hound had lost his first match, yet he had succeeded in leaving enough damage upon his opponent. Vojorn had been a worthy adversary, she had left her mark on him and had gone on to the next round. Yet, he wasn’t down and out just yet. The clouds overhead were heavy, burdened with snow that began to flutter from the heavens as the day wore on. The flakes began to stick together, dusting the earth with peaks and troughs of snow, causing the ground to be slick upon the surface. He moved, albeit stiffly, to the battlegrounds for round two, his attention momentarily caught by the other gladiators in the vicinity. Hound grunted, a brow arching as he watched all take their places. They were too close for his liking, knowing that between the close proximity, slippery earth and sloping lands, it was only a matter of time before one crashed into the other.
Turning his attention from the others, he now took a moment to view his opponent. Again, she was smaller than he, of a heavier bloodline but that didn’t matter. He was a mutt, made up of several bloodlines that attributed to his height and athleticism. Or at least, what was left of it. Snow had begun to cover his spine and rump, flakes settling into his wispy mane and upon his lashes as the deluge continued on. His hellish gaze settled upon her, a wry smile curling his lips as he summed her up, assessing the injuries she already wore from the previous day. There was a sizeable gash to her face, just over her left eye. It had stopped bleeding and crust was beginning to form but no doubt it would open again readily if hit. He observed a stiffness to her right forelimb, stemming from the shoulder and not pain from the lower limb. He didn’t have time to assess further as the call to attack sounded, causing several of those around them to leap into action, their hooves muffled upon the snow as the first hits were delivered.
Hound’s attention snapped then onto Danika, her smaller mass advancing towards him with speed over the short distance, his body tensing as it braced for the inevitable impact. He was endeavouring to keep his left side out of harm’s way - the broken ribs and cut along his shoulder were proving to be troublesome, inhibiting his oxygen intake and upper leg movement to an extent. He knew to expose that side too much would cause potentially irreparable damage, a chance he could not afford to take so early on in his pursuit for chaos. Danika ran at him, darting at the last moment as her mass shifted and a kick was aimed towards his rump. As her knives flew towards him, his quarters shifted slightly, causing the hit to land, but to glance along his well-muscled hind quarters. She darted off afterwards, removing herself from imminent harm yet a welt was already beginning to rise, heat radiating through his rear end as his hot attention fell upon her with a smile.
The force of the kick had sent a shockwave through his mass, the broken ribs responding with their own pangs of discontent. Yet the pain only filled him with that familiar ire, that desire for destruction. He pushed himself forwards into a springy thrice beat, the dull ache in his hind fetlock still prevalent from its impact with the stone wall yesterday. He moved towards her side, his enamels bared as his mass shifted upwards only a fraction in an attempt to bite down on the base of her nape just before it met her withers. He intended to bring his mass down as he bit her, hoping to apply as much force upon it to either break the skin or bring her to her knees at the very least. As soon as it had started was it over, the beast diligently stepping away from her to avoid further deadly impact, keeping his most injured side away from her as he returned his gaze upon her, awaiting her next attempt.

Attacks 1 - aimed to bite down heavily on Danika's lower neck/withers 2 - 3 -
Dodges: 1 -
Day 1 Injuries: 1 - deep cut in left shoulder over elbow from Vojorn's bite. Won't effect lower limb movement, but shoulder movement will decrease as the fight goes on. 2 - stiffness in right hind fetlock as third kick made contact with the stone wall where he assumed Vojorn was. 3 - Two ribs cracked on left side from the kick, severe bruising along rib cage. Bruising will be considerably worse due to the previous impact against the wall/Vojorn in his first attack. Pippin "speech could be this colour"

Danika knew she had made a mistake. As she kicked out with hind hooves and put all her weight on her front end she felt her right shoulder burn in pain. The pain nearly caused her leg to buckle. Somehow stayed upright. The impact of her hooves on his rump sent another jolt though her shoulder and she gritted her teeth as she continued past him, a more prominent limp to her gait now. She found her second mistake as she pulled herself to a stop and started to spin to face the massive brute once more. She slipped on the snow cover ground. The reawakened pain in her shoulder screamed at her with the sudden movements as she sought to regain her balance. It took several moments in witch time her opponent had closed the precious distance she had created.
He was bearing down on her with all his weight, gnashing teeth attempting to rip into her flesh. She tried to scramble back away from his massive frame but only managed a couple steps and then he was on top of her. His teeth sinking into her withers and his weight pushing her down. Pain flared from the point his teeth dug into her and radiated down her already batter shoulder. She knew that she would not be able to push him off. So rather than try and fight off the pushing force she let it bear her down, twisting to avoid crashing onto her bruised shoulder. As soon she she was fully on the ground she rolled away, fearful of crushing hooved. Her fear was unfounded though as she glanced him pulling away from her. As he pulled away she finely saw why he kept his left side hidden from her. She saw the signs of fresh trauma and that he greatly favored his right side. Maybe she could turn that to her advantage, if she was quick enough to get past his guard.
She quickly scrambled to back to her feet. Blood running down from the bite on her withers. It felt hot and sticky and the pain a red hot contrast to cold around them. Moving now with more care she faced the massive stallion once more, seeking an opening to dart in. She saw it as another fighting pair suddenly started moving towards him, on his side of their small fighting circle. She at the same time darted forward once more, moving with much more care to avoid jarring her hurts again. She closed in close, attempting to zip around his guard and lay a powerful bite to his already battered left side before moving to create space once more.

Pippin, as mentioned by Azzy, this battle is forfeited due to Hound not being posted in time. The winner of this round is Danika. As per our Gladiator Tournament Rules: As Danika already took one hit prior to this, you can continue writing the injury you already gave her, and I will roll for a second injury. Danika rolled a 42. Please describe his second injury as follows as your progress forwards in the tournament: Hound turned his sights towards the sensitive flesh on Danika's hind legs, in particular, the vulnerable point of her stifle. Danika was able to stumble away from serious injury, however Hound's teeth still grazed her flesh. This wound is only superficial, and while it immediately burns and will ache with movement in the future, it should not hinder her as she battles onwards.
