Personality:
The easiest way to describe Lazorath is crazed. Due to the combination of a traumatic past, as well as mental disease, Lazorath can generally barely keep it together. Suffering from psychosis, he is often delusion and hallucinates, which can drive him to rather violent episodes, often ending fatal for any surrounding him - which is how he got the reputation that he was feral. In addition due to this illness, he also often has difficulty concentrating, is overly suspicious, and is almost always anxious. As well due to his past, he suffers from a case of post traumatic stress disorder, which appears in him as feeling on edge all the time, numbness and detachment, and he often has nightmares and vivid flashbacks. This too generally drives him towards a crazed state, and one that is violent due to the conditioning he experienced as a foal. This is the creature Lazorath was created to be, but it is far from the one he wants to be. If one removed all the mental illness and traumatic experience, they would find an equine who is quiet, one who keeps to himself yet craves a companion, someone who could bring him the joy he never experienced in his childhood. This is the being he would consider as Brone, and it is who he ultimately wants to be. He wants to do the right thing, but has troubles distinguishing right from wrong.
History:
Laz is the equine that he was trained and conditioned to be. Born into a land of equines very military centered, these equines dedicated themselves to training the best soldiers that they could. They bred foals and took them from a young age, placing them into their training program to condition them to be effective killers right from the start. Their methods were cruel, isolating the young ones for the majority of the day, giving them limited time to interact with any others, save for the brief moments that they were brought together to the "feeding grounds" in order to eat, under surveillance. Otherwise, interaction was scarce except for when they were brought together to train. The training was brutal, for the foals were beaten if they did not perform to standard. Other abusive tactics were also used, such as forcing the trainees to feed upon plants that were nearly fatal to them, which could induce effects such as hallucinations. Laz struggled through such an environment the first several years of his life, hating his existence, hating the world around him. But one could not say that the training was ineffective, however horrific it was - for he grew to be an adept soldier.
His only solace in this time was those brief moments spent upon feeding, when he could be close to the other foals. He found himself drawn to a filly, one who was inexplicably kind despite their fate. She, like no other, could bring out a softer, less severe side of him - and she affectionately named him Brone, rather than the name he was given by the soldier's to represent his place in their army. Laz was the stallion he was being trained and conditioned to be. But Brone was the stallion he wanted to be.
One evening, the camp where the foals were trained was raided. It was raided by a group of do-gooders, some who had worked with the foals and had softer hearts, not wishing for the foals to have to endure such a life any longer. The trainees turned upon their trainers, assisting their saviors and making their escape. Not all of them made it, however, Astorath's young filly friend being one of the casualties of the raid, much to his despair.
He fled far away from that place, wishing to forget about it, but some memories cannot be forgotten. He isolated himself from all others, becoming quite the loner, and allowing his mental illnesses to take control of him. He became nearly feral, destroying any those who attempted to approach him. Until one day, he encountered a stallion who said he was from the land of Wild Equines, and was looking for equines of worth and ability, to join a mighty cause. Intrigued, Laz followed this being, which is how he ended up in Wild Equines. With the disappearance of Vulcan, Lazorath sought shelter in the harem of Oinaze, under the rule of the Helkaer general Sly. During that time he was sent out to try and track down Vulcan, though he was ambushed just outside of the borders of Wild Equines. Upon returning he laid low under the radar, healing from his injuries, until Alectrona appeared in Oinaze. The stallion lost control over himself from months of being idle, and took the damsel as a slave, keeping her locked away in the gates of Oinaze for months. It was only with the help of Ouray, an angel in the making, that Alectrona was able to get free from his grasp and escape, but not before telling him that she was pregnant with his child. Enraged, Lazorath began to comb through the lands of Wild Equines, attempting to locate Alectrona, and in the process failing to block Sly from the grasp of Zephyr, the dark king.
Only a few days later, Lazorath received a message from the dark royals that Sly could be located in Lyacor, the Versai land belonging to the high Priestess Allocen. Lazorath wasted no time in tracking her down, finding her drugged and confused in the middle of a fire she had created. Sly confessed that it was Zephyr who had drugged her, raped her, and left her in the lands, confusing her enough to believe they were still in Lachlen Brek so she would burn the lands to the ground, before disappearing. In the middle of getting Sly to safety, Lazorath was struck with a burning tree branch, leaving a scar on his right side for the rest of his life. He returned home, helping her gather the herd members of Oinaze, to begin plotting their revenge.
Sly ended up falling pregnant from being raped by Zephyr. When the foal was born, Sly immediately turned on it in order to destroy it. Brone's persona taking over, Lazorath stepped in to stop the murder. Seeing him turn on her mother, Siavash then attacked Lazorath in turn. Judas and Seven, who had both been captive in Oinaze at the time, were made aware of the fighting - once they saw the stallion trying to protect the foal, they too stepped in. Siavash and Sly were pushed back, and Lazorath, Seven, Judas and the newly born Citoc were able to escape. Lazorath has not been seen since, but is being hunted by Sly and her herd.
Other: Daughter (Nuala, played by Pippin) through Alectrona. Currently being hunted by Sly.
