Mismatched hazel and brown pools carried an uncharacteristic degree of worry. Even in Utopia, where negative emotion was almost immediately washed away by the peacefully soothing atmosphere, Talia was still haunted bythe worry that had first been kindled by her last visit to Ever Clear to see Caelius and the family that had taken him in. Though the last few visits he had been missing, she had hoped that he might have made his way home and she had been looking forward to seeing and spending time with him, along with Leviticus, Leifr, Dragula and all the others. So, when she had arrived in Ever Clear only to learn that Caelius was still missing, suffice to say that it was concerning. Where could he have gone? No one seemed to have any certainty as to what had happened, though she had sensed... she was not certain what specifically she sensed, but it made her wonder whether perhaps the adults might have some kind of suspicion, though none of them had mentioned what that notion might have been and she had not been certain enough of what she was sensing to decide to ask about it. All she could do was hope and pray that Caelius, wherever he might be, was safe and well.
Talia had hoped to have an opportunity to speak with Rasa about the matter, but innocent though she might be, even the tiny bay angel held some degree of awareness of just how busy the Utopian Lady had been for quite a long while. More recently, something had happened to Lord Nehemiah. Before that, something had happened to Cadence, who had once also been a Lord of Utopia, though he seemed to be back now, albeit no longer Lord. That everyone kept disappearing made Talia... uncomfortable. More than uncomfortable, despite Utopia's peaceful environs. It seemed like there was always something... Before the aforementioned events, there had been something called war between the Neutral kingdom and the Helkaer. And... something had happened with another previous Lord of Utopia, Spike. Even within Utopia, the memory of the last time she had seen Spike sent an uncomfortable chill of fear shivering down her spine. Emotions like that were alien to the tiny innocent and the closest approximations she had experienced had only happened twice whilst she had been trapped upon the mortal plane. And, as it was, those memories were vague at best, with no real recollection of who and why and where and when. Truth be told, she did not particularly wish to remember, all things considered. Something awful had happened to her, that much she had some awareness of, even if it was really only due to things Lady Rasa let slip now and then or the way the Utopian Lady had evidently felt so terribly guilty for what had happened. Talia still might not really understand any of it, but it seemed whatever had happened, it must have been something terrible.
At any rate, at least she was home safe in Utopia now and feeling a great deal better than she had for a very long time. Recovery from her ordeal had taken a long time, her soul so weakened by all that she had endured that even now there were times she felt tired and weak, though such moments were thankfully slowly growing fewer and farther apart. Now if only she could ascertain that Caelius too was safe and well... Character;; Talia Tagged;; fleabittengray w/Rasa Notes;; Current-time thread <3

She was uncertain of what to expect in the next coming months. The Underworld was silent. Deadly silent. There had been no retaliation that she knew of after she took Everest, and then Venari. She knew Xerxes had to be angry, full of rage even, but both the Devil and his Lady were nowhere to be seen. Probably guarding Nehemiah. Torturing him. Gods, she needed him back. She needed to save him. But how? She knew better than to barge into Utopia all by herself. She had seen what Utopia had done to Xerxes when he'd come to fetch Akroma after she'd stolen her. It would weaken her. Leave her extremely vulnerable to attacks, to getting imprisoned herself, and Rasa was not going to let that happen. She was not going to let this carry on much longer, either. She was growing restless. Anxious. Trying to split her time up to take care of everything by herself was exhausting, despite lacking a need for sleep. She was only one being and, Lady of Utopia or not, she could only do so much. Leading Utopia, Judging souls, trying to keep in contact with the mortals and having a presence in their realm... She needed more help from her angels. She needed more activity from her angels. She needed more allies from the mortal realm. She needed her damn Lord back!
A weary sigh parted the muzzle of the bay maiden, her head hanging as she walked through the emerald grasses of Utopia. Deep in thought as she was, the angelic leader almost missed the presence of another soul. One full of eternal youth, but whose joy had been tampered with by the likes of a mortal stallion. Charm. Somehow, the Dark brute had gotten his hooves on little Talia, kept her captive for... for a very long time, she actually wasn't sure how long. She had been taken either just before or shortly after Rasa had been made Lady of Utopia. Rasa had done everything she could to find her. Something - someone? - had been keeping her hidden. But she was back now, safe and sound in Utopia, but she'd never quite returned to her old persona. Trauma did that to even the brightest of souls. A kind smile turning up the corners of her lips, Rasa whinnied softly and lifted her head, trotting over toward the soul she saw as a daughter - as close to it as possible, without them having any blood relation.

Spotting the familiar bay figure of Utopia's Lady, a brilliant smile found its way onto the little angel's maw. Despite worries that even Utopia seemed not quite able to completely eradicate, it always made her feel better to see Rasa. It was the older bay angel who had been the first of Utopia's residents that Talia had met when her soul had first found its way to the heavenly realm. And though in those days Talia had particularly connected with Typhizar -- who had been the one to help her choose a name for herself, seeing as she had passed on without having one bestowed by dam or sire -- she had also grown close to Rasa. Especially after her return to Utopia as she recovered from all that she had endured, as well as the shock of finding so many she had once known to be gone. Especially Typhizar and Oderia. Fennore had been gone too, though he at least was back, even if something seemed to trouble him greatly. Talia knew that he tried his utmost to hide it, particularly around Utopians such as herself or Hayyel, but she had picked up on it all the same. Was it guilt that he had not been able to protect her from... something?
She could not remember. There was a lot about what had happened to her, what she had endured that was blank. Parts of it that eluded remembrance. Likely just as well in some respects. Of course, there were moments when some semblance of memory would strike. Or the emotions tied to a particular memory, even if she could not recall the specifics of the memory itself. Which could be very uncomfortable at times. Terror. Sorrow. Sometimes something she did not understand at all and had no words for, even if it did not necessarily feel bad like fear or sadness.
Pushing errant thought aside, Talia focused on Rasa, even as the Lady of Utopia seemed to have spotted the tiny bay angel, whinnying softly as she closed the distance between. Talia closed it even further in order to embrace this Utopian she had known for as long as she could remember. 'Hi Rasa, are you okay?' Like with Fennore, Talia got the impression that Rasa was troubled, though at least in this case she had a slightly better idea of the why of it. Tensions had been growing of late. Just like Caelius, Lord Nehemiah was missing. Things were not right in the world as they should be. Perhaps it was no surprise that anyone she encountered in Utopia right now would be troubled. x RASA Rasa worried about Talia, a lot more than she let on. Talia had been changed by her trauma and Rasa, though she had not been Lady at the time, still felt responsible for whatever had happened to the girl. She was so sweet, so innocent, such a pure soul at all times - she had not done a damned thing in her life to deserve to be captured like she had been. And with Utopia's leadership having been so rocky and unstable at the time, she had flown under the radar. No one had gone looking for her, not until Rasa had become Lady (quite suddenly) and haphazardly made her way through all the duties a Lady had. She had been by herself throughout most of it. And now, she was by herself again. She was starting to believe more and more than she herself was the problem. Maybe she was cursed or something. But she would be damned if she gave up on Utopia, especially now, of all times! The smile on little Talia's face when she spotted Rasa made the elder angel smile, chuckling softly as she approached the smaller being. Talia gave her signature embrace, tucking herself up against Rasa, and the motherly being sighed contently and let a wing playfully curl around Talia in her own version of a hug. 'Hi Rasa, are you okay?' Was she okay? No. Not at all. But she also didn't want to worry Talia with her troubles and thoughts. So Rasa made herself put on as bright a smile as she could manage, reaching to ruffle Talia's forelock with her lips. "All will be well, Talia," she assured the girl, hoping that she would believe her, at least a little bit. "I've just got some things to figure out, but that's nothing you need to worry about!" A pause, before she asked, "And how are you, sweetie? You doing okay?"She did not allow the worry she felt over Talia to drip into her words, keeping them as light and unbothered as she possibly could. Rasa didn't want to make Talia speak about her trauma if she wasn't ready, but she also feared there was so much that Talia hadn't spoken about. Maybe she didn't even remember, right now, a way for her mind to defend itself against whatever cruel and wicked things that Charm had done to her during her time spent in the mortal realm. It had never occurred to Talia to cast blame on Rasa for what had happened to her while confined to the mortal plane. Or on anyone else, for that matter. Of course, the innocent soul was not the sort to need to cast blame on others, but even so, she did not blame anyone for it. Especially not Rasa, who was as much a mother figure to the little angel as anyone could be. Nor did she blame Oderia, who was the last Lady she could remember before... the bad thing had happened. An icy shiver chased down her spine at the shadowed touch of vague memory and she was grateful for the distract of Rasa's presence. A contented sigh of her own escaped as she tucked herself in close against Rasa and the Utopian Lady's wing curled playfully around her. Whatever had happened, whatever the future might bring, she was just glad that she could be back in Utopia where she belonged.
Mismatched brown and hazel eyes peered up at Rasa as she inquired about how the Lady of Utopia was doing. She might not understand a lot of what was going on, might not comprehend the nuances of the conflict brewing... but she could sense that many in Utopia were troubled, including their Lady. But perhaps things were not so bad, for Rasa offered a smile, ruffling the little angel's forelock as she assured, "All will be well, Talia. I've just got some things to figure out, but that's nothing you need to worry about!"
It was not exactly an answer to her question, but the tiny bay filly nodded in acceptance, though she did not hesitate to ask, 'Is there anything I can do to help?' She knew that she was tiny and could hardly tackle some of the sorts of tasks the grown-up angels managed all the time, but surely there was something she could do to help?
"And how are you, sweetie? You doing okay?" The tone of the query seemed light and unbothered, yet in the same token... the questions reminded Talia of what she had been thinking about before Rasa had approached. A shadow touched her features, worry for Caelius once again reasserting itself despite Utopia's soothing atmosphere.
'I'm okay, I think,' she answered truthfully, continuing, 'Sometimes I still feel tired or scared or... strange. But I feel much better than I did when I first got home.' She paused, distress filtering into her expression as she added, 'I'm worried about Caelius, though. He's still missing.' x RASA Rasa did not know of the horrors that Talia had experienced in the mortal world. She did not want to ask the girl and make her relive her traumas, but that also meant Rasa had no idea how to help her heal from all of it properly. She could only hope that with Utopia's grace and being shown kindness from herself and the other angels, Talia may be able to return to some semblance of her old self. Rasa could see the shadows that haunted the girl, kept her from being how she truly used to be. That somewhat haunted look that all those who had been through trauma had, no matter how hard they tried to hide it. Rasa was not excluded from that category, either, because despite her traumas being a lifetime ago - she still relived them. Not quite nightmares, since she did not sleep, but flashbacks to memories she wanted desperately to forget. The feelings of helplessness and failure... it was terrible, feeling that way. She hoped Talia did not feel such things. Talia looked up at her and the Lady of Utopia smiled down at her, reaching to lip gently and playfully at her forelock. 'Is there anything I can do to help?' And that was so very like Talia, offering to help in whatever way she could. It made Rasa's heart clench, knowing there was really not much, physically, for the other angel to do. But she smiled still, giving a nod. "You can help by making sure everyone in Utopia is... happy, at much as they can be. Talk to them, Talia. Be a friend. Help me make Utopia a stronger community. I think that's something you can help with, yes?" She hoped it wasn't too much for the girl, at least, but she did not let her worries show. She saw the immediate but subtle change in Talia after asking her how she was, and it broke her heart, seeing that shadow fall across her face. 'I'm okay, I think,' The girl spoke, always so honest. 'Sometimes I still feel tired or scared or... strange. But I feel much better than I did when I first got home.' She paused, a look of distress on her face, and Rasa reached for her again, giving a soothing touch to her cheek. 'I'm worried about Caelius, though. He's still missing.' Rasa closed her eyes a moment, sighing softly, and then nuzzled the small angel gently. "Don't give up hope, Talia. We will find Caelius. You just keep your head up and stay hopeful, okay?"Indi w/ Talia 429 | ProfileShe feels so bad ;-; 19 years 9 months, late winter, after her thread with Everest, before the raid on Eacarrah

It was, of course, easiest to evade thoughts about her time trapped on the mortal plane whilst within the boundaries of Utopia. And it had been difficult, those first few times she had ventured out. First only to Eden and then beyond. It was not quite so unnerving now to spend time in the mortal plane now as it had been for a long time, though there were still plenty of occasions where she felt rather uncomfortable. Vulnerable and exposed in a way she had never felt before. And, of course, the negative emotions were more likely to ambush her at times when she was outside of Utopia. All in all, the sad truth was that her carefree eternity had been changed irrevocably and even if she dealt so far in vague semblances of memory at most, perhaps her mind protecting her as best it could from what she had endured... nothing would ever be quite the same again.
Thankfully, as aforementioned, it was much easier not to be troubled by such thoughts in Utopia. Especially when in the company of others. A light giggle escaped the tiny filly as Utopia's Lady reached down to playfully lip gently at her forelock, though her harks pricked forward attentively as she awaited an answer to her inquiry. While there were plenty of things Talia knew she probably could not manage, she hoped that there were things that she could do to help!
Thankfully, Rasa gave a nod, answering, "You can help by making sure everyone in Utopia is... happy, as much as they can be. Talk to them, Talia. Be a friend. Help me make Utopia a Stronger community. I think that's something you can help with, yes?"
Eagerly the miniscule angel nodded her assent, pleased with the idea that she could help. Given that she already thought of the others in Utopia as family, it did not seem like a difficult task at all to be a friend, talk to them, and make sure everyone in Utopia was as happy as possible. 'I'll do my very best!' she declared cheerfully. And wasn't this moment here and now an opportunity to start by talking with Lady Rasa and helping her to feel as happy as possible, despite the circumstances and events going on?
True... there was the less than pleasant topic that came up next regarding her own state of being and, more importantly, the worrisome fact that Caelius was still missing. Talia could not help leaning more into Rasa, even as the Lady of Utopia sighed softly, before nuzzling her gently. "Don't give up hope, Talia. We will find Caelius. You just keep your head up and stay hopeful, okay?"
Though she nodded in acknowledgement, Talia could not help adding, 'I just hope he's okay.' Character;; Talia Tagged;; fleabittengray w/Rasa Notes;; <3 Timeline;; Late winter

x RASA She had always considered Talia to be family, despite there being no blood relation between the two of them. Talia was like a daughter to her and even before she became Lady of Utopia, Rasa had always been very motherly toward the wee little angelic being. She'd always been so pure of heart, entirely naive... and though some of the nature remained within the younger being, Talia had still changed. Some were subtle changes that some others might not be able to pick up on, but Rasa was as soon as Talia's mother - she noticed everything and it break her heart. Shattered it, honestly, because this girl had never done anything to deserve whatever it was Charm had put her through. It was awful. Rasa hated that Shire monster. Hate was a strong word that she did not throw around lightly, but, well, Charm more than deserved it. He was nothing but a nuisance across Wild Equines. At least Talia seemed happy with her task that Rasa presented her with. The bay angel smiled, nuzzling the child between the ears and nickering sweetly, breathing in the scent of the angelic being. She smell of fresh air and sunshine and flowers dancing in cool breezes. Rasa felt her heart wrench, and had to fight back tears, blinking rapidly a few times to make sure Talia could not see them forming. It was over in no more than a second or two, and then she was smiling down at Talia as she exclaimed, 'I'll do my very best!' So cheerful and chipper. Who could ever want to hurt her? "I know you will, love. You always do." Her voice was soft with affection and fondness, reaching with a wing tip to playfully tickle at Talia's nose. The topic of Caelius was always a difficult one. Rasa hated to even bring it up around Talia. She hated seeing Talia upset. 'I just hope he's okay.' Rasa smiled kindly. "Me too, sweetheart. Me, too." And then she quieted, looking up at the baby blue sky and breathing in the floral aroma of Utopia. "Would you like to go for a flight with me? Maybe you'll even beat me in a race this time," she teased, gentle, hoping it would be a way of lifting the girl's spirits. If there was one emotion that Talia had remained unfettered by, it was hate. Despite all that she had experienced – albeit, much of it kept from her memory for one reason or another – she had yet to ever feel hate for anyone. Not those who had wronged her so deeply and certainly not those who felt a deep sense of guilt for the ordeal that she had endured. The closest she could ever say she had come was only in sensing the emotion in others. First in the bitter chestnut mare who had given brief life to her mortal body and later in both mortals and immortals for varying reasons. Most notably, of course, in recent times she had sensed it in Utopians such as Lady Rasa when the subject of Charm was broached. Vaguely, she remembered desperately asking for him before her return to Utopia, even if she could not quite recall why she had felt that way. Mostly during that time, she remembered feeling very, very tired and horribly weak. Not pleasant memories to dwell on, as vague as they were and so, not really thoughts and memories she spent any time on.
No point on dwelling on it, really. Especially not now, when she had a new task to focus her attention on from this moment forward! Much as she likely would have done so without being tasked, Talia was immensely pleased with the duty that Rasa had given her. Bouncing from hoof to hoof, she could hardly wait to start talking with her fellow Utopians, making sure to help them feel as happy as possible, cheer them up, and ensure they knew they had her friendship, helping to strengthen the community in which they all dwelt in the Afterlife.
And when she insisted upon doing her very best, bright mismatched eyes focused on Rasa as Utopia’s Lady answered with softly affectionate fondness, ”I know you will, love. You always do.”
A giggle escaped the tiny angel at the tickling of wingtip to her nose, pretending to sneeze in return, immensely enjoying this precious time spent with the very first soul she had ever met in the Afterlife.
Even if the next topic to arise was… a difficult one. Talia was not even sure how long Caelius had been missing, given how tricky it was to keep track of the passage of time when it meant so very little to an immortal. Which, naturally, worried her all the more. Some part of her psyche knew what it was like to be trapped away from all that was loved and familiar. The thought of Caelius enduring the same for… who knew how long… was troubling, to say the least.
”Me too, sweetheart. Me too.” Rasa’s smile was kindly and briefly Talia tucked herself further against the Utopian Lady, taking solace in her first and most constant friend.
And then Rasa was gazing skyward, querying, ”Would you like to go for a flight with me? Maybe you’ll even beat me in a race this time.”
Teasing notes were in Rasa’s gentle lyrics and Talia found herself laughing a little, bobbing her head in assent, ’I’d like that!’ Not the winning a race part, but simply the gift of being able to spend more time with Rasa. So go to the river where the water runs (Wash him deep where the tides are turning) Despite the war, Rasa was having a good time conversing with Talia. The tiny angel always seemed to have a way of cheering others up, raising moral without even trying, merely by existing. She was, without a doubt, one of Talia's favorites - even though she knew she really should not be playing favorites, but when it came to Talia, it was just so impossible not to! Who could resist her innocent charisma? She wanted the best for the girl, who had experienced life only so briefly, really no life at all. She may as well be a Seraph. She'd been born premature, passing just moments after her first breath - and now she lacked the need to breathe at all. She'd been given another chance at life, another chance at existing, even if it was within the Afterlife. That's what Rasa wanted Utopia to be: a second chance. She didn't want this to be a place of despair and turmoil. She wanted angels that were ready and willing to help others, to fight for peace when needed. So far, however, she seemed to be lacking those such angels. Not wanting to sour he mode, Rasa turned her thoughts away from the war, from the other angels, and tried to instead just focus on Talia as she tickled her nose and the sweet girl sneezed, causing the Lady of Utopia to chuckle and reach down to lip at her mane, tugging it playfully and gently between her teeth. This was nice, having a moment of peace within all of the chaos. It was nice to just be and exist without the need to fret about politics and war. If only this could last... she could not play here in Utopia with Talia forever. There was still much that needed to be done. ’I’d like that!’ A bright smile stretched across the bay mare's face and she chuckled, half-rearing onto her hind legs with glee. "Come, then. Let us fly!" she cooed to the youthful angel, and her powerful, large wings unfolded and it took no time at all for her to propel herself into the air. She breathed in the sweet aroma of Utopia, smiling, and circled above where she and Talia had previously been standing. Catching the girl's eye, she winked, and then she was flying, soaring through the heavens with giddy laughter leaving her lips. If only the world could see her like this. She was no monster. She was no heathen. She was simply just a woman trying to make the most out of her eternity.
