It was a strange thing, dying before he got to live, never being his own equine separate from his mother. As a soul leaving his lifeless body, Trafalgar caught a glimpse of his mother, tired and covered in sweat. The mare silently wept for him, uttering the name that Arya would have given to him if he had been alive, yet unknowingly still named her son as Traffy left behind the mortal world as it all went dark. Chestnut eyelids slowly revealed chocolate brown pools as the colt began to wake within his new immortal body, identical to the one he had left behind. Instinct told the newborn that he required breath and sustenance to live, yet what air he sucked in brought no satisfaction and his stomach felt no hunger.

Shaking his two-toned skull, Trafalgar slowly began to find his feet, his tiny legs wobbling as he tried to find his balance. The colt's little lion tail flicked in a way to help the foal remain standing by acting as a counterbalance, determined not to fall and land face-first into the dirt beneath him. Taking a very careful first step, and then a second, Trafalgar managed to stay up as a small triumphant whinny escaped him, pleased with his own success. Taking a look around, it seemed as if all was still around the little colt, all frozen in different stages of life and no one seemed to have been around to see his victory. A pout twisted the ebony muzzle of the chimeric colt as he took a few more steps, his brown eyes looking for anyone that may help him understand this new world he had come into alone. "Hello? Is anyone here?", Trafalgar called out at first, his little mind ticking over any words that his mother may have spoken to him in utero that didn't come across as muffled. "Grandfather?", he suddenly called out after remembering something short his mother said, something about Trafalgar's Grandfather, but which he didn't know as everything had been muffled after.

Also PS: I named Trafalgar after Trafalgar Law in One Piece, so there's some mild inspo but he's not going to be exactly like him lmao
