The buckskin stallion had seen many changes come and go in his time of life, and herd changes were no exception to this. It was times like this he had to make himself present and welcoming, and with everything in his life, Winchester was not afraid to say hello. It seemed like the right thing to do. And as a member of the herd, though his status was not quite defined outside of a father to a lovely daughter and lady that had gone away for some time. He missed them dearly but knew somehow they would come back. And their home would still be here so long as he remained.
Standing at a pristine location with the views around quite lovely for this time of year, Winchester gazed about, looking for Adora. He had heard that she was now the owner of this lovely place and he wanted to meet her, welcome her and get to know the new lady. He felt so out of place having been in his own world for all this time but the proud mustang kept his calm and charming demeanor. He wanted to do more with this land, to serve with purpose and he was unsure of what the future was. There was something in the air that suggested hope and good things, which would bring future generations to enjoy the place he called home. As he continued to gaze across the little oasis he called home, Winchester pondered how the future meeting would go.
The buckskin nickered softly, alerting anyone around he was there and welcoming.

ADORA | 4 YEARS | 15.2 HH | PALOMINO OVERO
it had been barely a week since she’d claimed the sunset shores and met with nixi. a strange, but welcomed sense of accomplishment flourished within the palomino mare and she strode with great pride. adora had spent this time attempting to seek out those who remained of ares nune’s rule, though with the war she realized that was harder said than done. as she traipsed the shore, the faint whisper of a nicker hit her audits, causing her to slow to a stop. they flickered and she paused, cerulean eyes turning toward the sound before she was picking up a trot to head for it.
weaving through the lands was easy for her, and she quite enjoyed the stroll. it didn’t take her long to reach where the buckskin stallion grazed, and adora stayed back for some time to watch him. finally, the mare slithered through the treeline, whickering to him to announce her presence. the baroness’ head was held high, shoulders taut, and she dipped her head in a silent greeting as she closed the distance between them. “winchester, i presume,” she said matter of factly. “i have heard much about you. i am adora.” she dipped her crown once more, a smile coming to her face. “please, join me for a walk.”

It was not long before the palomino lady graced Winchester with her presence, naming him promptly and politely. He nodded his head gently and smiled warmly, acknowledging that he was indeed as she said. The stallion swished his dark tail, observing her dipping her head and an engaging smile on her face. She asked for a walk, to which he was happy to oblige. The buckskin beast indicated she take the lead, as he would follow as they walked. Welcome, Baroness. he greeted with his warm, dark tones. It's a pleasure to meet you. His dark muzzle broke into a big smile, pleased that he could find his way to meet her and begin to see how things would go. He had not heard much about her, not with the war going on and everyone seeming to go their separate ways. Winchester felt his place was at home, that he needed to be here to protect and defend in the only ways he knew how. There was no hidden agenda or anything with him. He wanted to simply be a contributing member of the herd no matter what that meant. There would be plenty of changes and updates, quite possibly new roles, however at end it was her decision. And he was fully capable of being a simple herd member. I hope you've heard all good things, he said with a laughing note in his voice, watching her carefully to see what she would do. Sometimes, that was the best play, to test the waters and get a real feel for what he was up against. JUNI! <3

baroness of the shores ,
want for nothing.
with ease, adora started their stroll, ears carefully concentrated on the stallion. "welcome, baroness. it's a pleasure to meet you," he'd said. adora acknowledged his words with a smile, letting her cerulean gaze fall ahead of them. she had put much thought into all the 'what ifs' that surrounded leadership since taking over the shores, and she wondered if it's members had, too. she had no idea how ares nune had run this land. was he kind? iron-fisted? fair? as a leader within the light lands, the answers would not be hard to find. "i hope you've heard all good things," his voice struck her ears again, attention back to the task at hand. winchester was the first of many strolls to come, and she hoped he didn't mind that much. "are you concerned of otherwise?" the pale golden mare ventured, invisible brow creasing as she opened the distance between them just enough to take a better look his way. after a moment, her expression softened, mischief dancing in her eyes. "merely a jest. good enough things that i stand here with you, alone," a chuckle followed, and she hummed under her breath as she contemplated her next words carefully. "i will need a commander of the guard. does that sound like something of interest to you, winchester? details can be discussed, of course, and you needn't say yes now," adora didn't mean to be too forthcoming with her approach. yet, she didn't feel bad for it. the war quieted things, she'd noted, and while the threat of it at their doors was arguably for naught, she learned early in life that being at the ready was everything. the painted mare slowed herself, cerulean eyes lifting to meet his. her expression was still soft, but her tone was solemn. "war evades us for the time. i made promise to queen nixi that if that time was to ever come, however, we would be prepared."

Though Winchester had spent some time within the shores, he was quite adept at discerning whether Adora would make for a good leader and as her eyes danced with mischief, he was completely at ease with his choice in seeking an audience. Having a good sense of humor was important to him as well as exceptional leadership and thus far, she had proven herself worthy to him, particularly with the ease of being gentle and mischievous at the same time. He knew that this would make for a good stroll and listened to her point blank question of needing a commander. Winchester appreciated that, allowing his golden eyes to match her cerulean optics. He smiled with intent and purpose, nodding his acceptance before speaking. It would be my honor. Winchester had a fair head and was even-keeled with the experience that he carried, even if it had been several years since his leaving his homeland. It is wisdom that speaks of preparation. he answered softly, but with matching solemn note. Whatever you ask of me, I will perform to the best of my abilities. He gave a gentle smirk and considered his question before asking. All I ask is if there is ever a problem, please, let us work together to make it right. I am little rusty but I will serve to the best of my ability. Winchester had a family to consider as well as a place in this herd. If he were to make any significant marks, this would be it. And he would until he had no breath left to serve. JUNI! for Adora! <3
