He was not here to make friends nor was he here to play nice. He had set his mind to a mission and would not stop until that mission was achieved. The chimeric beast was new to Wild Equines- a fresh face but his short stint of traveling through the open lands had caused him to hear enough. The territory was in turmoil and a full fledged war- odd considering he had traveled through a large span of open space and many whispering tales but not once was he approached. Did both sides of the war have enough soldiers that recruiting new ones; even those unaware to the conflicts, was not a necessity? Fine by him, but he was not about to sit around in no man's land to wait something out. He had heard of Dark lands and Dark Royals and knew that it would be here that he would seek the beginning of his journey. The Royals were a bit of an afterthought considering where he stood currently. Land was his first concern to lock down. A home and a place he could start his own herd. He knew it was governed by the higher up Royals but those two could be dealt with at a later date. He doubted they would mind him taking out an absent ruler off their hands.
It really hadn't taken the heathen long to figure out his target. The scents that tickled his flared nostrils of these lands were stale. While there was proof that some equines resided within, their presence was not strong and borders seemed to be lacking of guards or patrol. Were these lands not at war? Surely not all the soldiers were sent away and these lands left to rot thinking one could return when the war was complete. It was a careless act by the leader and any inhabitants within that stayed for protection and security were sorely lied to by their leader. They had been failed and Wrathion was here to take what the leader did not deserve.
Eighteen hand mass moved at an even, three beat gait. His cob frame light and gait uphill as dagger tore into the soft lithosphere of the soggy valley below. The lands were not anything too impressive but it was the position he was trying to secure- the herd could always be moved to someplace more fitting to his standards in both aesthetic and protection. Bursts of carbon dioxide exhaled from his nares, the proof visible of the cool temps only for a second before dissolving into oblivion. Silvery-pearl gaze searched for an equine, just one but he continued to come up short the deeper he traveled within the lands. Irritation gnawed at him as he wondered how he could get this deep into the home of one without seeing life or activity. Could the leader have their herd hidden away in a remote location for safety? A smart choice should they- but foolish to still have the boundaries be stale and evident in lack of active, patrolling guards.
Finally he had had enough. Appendages dug deep into the crust, daggers sliding upon the slippery blades. Haunches dropped and scarred the earth as his physique came to a sliding halt. Regal skull placed high upon her muscled shoulder and arched boa moved as he scanned the lands. Audits swiveled upon his cranium, his left audit missing the tip which took away the drastic inward curve of his Marwari breeding of his lobes. Scarring covered his muscled mass; showing he had stories to tell and this would not be his first battle should the leader be foolish enough to accept the challenge for the lands. Velvet maw rose high into the crisp air and parted, vocals vibrating within as his deep tones echoed through the lands to be sure all knew of his presence. I've come to challenge the leader of these lands. Hand them over with peace and perhaps I will allow you to stay- accept my challenge and lose you will be exiled along with any loved ones you might have. War or not I will not mind making anyone homeless. His words were sharp and unforgiving. He was here on business and would not be convinced otherwise. There would be no lower position or off-handed ranks that the leader could offer to make Wrathion change his mind. Time to shit or get off the pot. Your move And with that he waited, uncaring of the others within and how they felt about a stranger challenging for their lands during this time of war. He had seen his fair share of war and raised by a warfare specialist. He was raised a soldier in a highly skilled army and put in his hours and time to hone in on the skills he needed to make himself confident when entering a situation like this. Whatever opponent appeared would not cause the chimeric beast to second guess his decision. And he, for one, could not wait for his opponent to approach and for Wrathion to dissect every step and breath that might point to any weaknesses to give himself an advantage.
