Helkaer Auditions these end April 1 The brotherhood is looking to add a new member to their ranks. Could it be you?
"First and foremost, the Helkaer are a band of equines who are of dark minds although have separated as a kind of rebellion against the reign of the Dark Royals. They possess powers which others do not. They have made a deal with the Afterlife that may give them advantages over others. They are equines who are trained in the skills of thievery, stealth, and murder. They are firm believers in everything that is cruel. While their hearts are dark, they do not side with the Dark alliance. They are a brotherhood believe that they are superior to all else, and fight to prove that they are as such. They believe in essentially "survival of the fittest", that only the strongest will survive and all others shall either serve them as slaves, or perish. Ultimately, they seek world domination. To be a part of the Helkaer you must abide by their rules. If you do not do so, the consequences may be dire." You can find more information on the Helkaer from the guidebook.
requirements- You MUST be active. You should be able to post at least once a week with your canon character. As always, you have to post at least once every 15 days or your position will be forfeited. By auditioning for a canon position, you are agreeing to the canon activity rules set by the site. Please read the Canon Activity Tracker thread for more specific information.
- Your character must be Dark or Unallianced in order to audition.
- You cannot audition if you already play two canon characters. Canon characters include Helkaer, Vigilum, Versai, Royals, and Afterlife.
- You should be able to post at least 400+ words with your canon consistently.
- No WIP posts, please. All WIP posts will be deleted.
- You may only audition if you have had your account on the site for more than three months. If not enough members audition initially, auditions may be opened up to newer members at the discretion of the staff team.

Username: juniper Activity Level: pretty active! Character: nacht Age: 12 Description: other than the slight lack of curvature due to his roman nose, the first thing you will notice about him is his bright gray eyes that starkly contrast his black coat. standing at 17hh, he is the perfect depiction of what a true baroque style sport horse should be. something that stands out about him is the blue flowers that adorn his thick, curly black mane and tail. these serve as souvenirs from a raid that he took part in when he was living away from wild equines. he has a short forelock but the rest of his hair is long to reflect his friesian blood. in the summer, he dapples out and lightens from the sun bleaching, becoming a sealy brown color that darkens up as his winter coat comes in. he has larger feet than most but they are not your typical draft feet with no feathering. nacht is naturally built up in the front end with a slight crest in the neck. originally from wild equines, though took a leave of absence for a period of 'self exploration'. during that time, he found himself constantly fighting for his life in a savage world. he was good at manipulating other's to get what he wanted and laid waste in other's lives; sometimes for the fun of it, and sometimes because he had to. wading through this new life, he became a mercenary for a neighboring lands army, where his mind was further tainted. nacht was never completely blind to the horrors of the world before leaving but upon his return his eyes were fully opened to it. he was changed back then into something darker than most; he has no regrets from that time in his life, and there's a part of him that hungers for more. when the amaranthine war started, he noticed an alarming amount of horses cowered at the thought of the afterlife's impact on the world. nacht embraced the possibility of seeing the world crawling with demons and serving the underworld. nacht is as collected as he can be. some could say he's a ticking time bomb because he struggles to control his emotions once provoked, but on the same coin it takes a lot to get him to that point. he's fascinated with knowledge, and though he is not an outwardly violent horse he possesses great skill in emotional warfare. nacht values himself respects those who can prove themselves to him, believing all other's are too weak. he has a strong sense of self preservation and knows how to slick himsef out of things. Reasons for Auditioning: this boy was made as a way for me to explore this kind of character arc again. i've played plenty of dark minded characters in the past, but since coming to WE i've tried to focus on the softer side of things while i dusted myself off from a long hiatus from writing. the helkaer were built on ideals that nacht believes are the right ones. he has always felt out of place standing amongst common horses, and has been shunned in the past for his way of life. after all that he did for someone else's homeland, there was no place for him in this war and he hated feeling so powerless considering all he has to offer. beyond the fighting, nacht believes that he could be a great asset in training helkaer apprentices in much more than just close range combat and focuses on a more psychological way of downing the enemies. he thinks that many of the resident horses in wild equines are weak for the way they let their emotions control them, and even more so for their allegiances to fraudulent causes. having watched helkaer's in the past as they tried and failed, nacht believes himself fit to do what other's could not in the name of serving the commander. Ideas for the Helkaer:
+ implement training focused on utilizing horses good with their brain vs brawn : he feels that there are holes in the capabilities of some members that could be retrained to better benefit the helkaer for the long term. his specialty being on the psychological, mental and emotional end of things provides him the opportunity to seek likeminded individuals who could strengthen the ranks by undermining the enemy
+ securing heartier apprentices : if chosen, nacht wants to send scouts to the free lands as a routine way to find new recruits. with this, he'd like to specially train a few of them to have a better understanding for what the helkaer want in their ranks
+ forming new alliances, taxing those lesser than : he would love to see some fresh blood in the allied support for the helkaer, especially as act 3 commences. with it, he feels that those opposed to their existence should be prosecuted for their wrong ways of living
+ networking : besides the above, nacht would like to set aside those with bright minds and good sneak skills to reform their training and make better spies out of them to have to send into lands for information; these horses would be good at camouflaging themselves and have a good understanding of wild equines layout
+ controlled chaos : with the war in mind, nacht would like to take advantage of the chaos and use it as a way to strengthen helkaer bonds with the afterlife, and potentially within themselves. he feels that things were too quiet leading up to sly's death and that more could be done to put them at an advantage Audition: as he patrolled the border of the land, a flash of pale gold intermingled with the dense greens of the forest he traipsed beside...

Maybe she had not seen him there - black pelt serving him some good against the darkness of night. Nacht's large cranium lowered in hopes to shield the white of his face, and the yellow figure continued on their trek away from him. The stallion grinned as he slipped into the foliage behind them, snaked against the trees. The sound of them gave him room to move freely, his body lowered as long grasses brushed up his legs. Nacht trailed them until they came to the outermost corner of the land, just where moonlight was clear in view. They had slowed their pace, and Nacht had done the same, waiting to see what direction they'd head in. Just as they went to cross the threshold, their foot crunched down on a twig, sending them whipping backward for fear of someone there.
Faced with a stranger, they tried to turn and run. The corner's of Nacht's lips were raised in a silent snarl as he lurched forward, jaw clasping down around their wither. He used sheer forced to topple them over, where he then stood unmoved as they squirmed to regain footing. "Who are you? What do you want?" the mare questioned, leaving him aghast in surprise. ”Correct me if I am wrong, but ... is it not you who has been caught red handed in someone else's home?" She blinked up at him, visibly uncomfortable with his words, and it made him laugh inwardly. "I'm Adora. I'm looking for Sinheim." The stallion's ears flickered, and he pondered her words. "You will wish Sinheim is what you found when Nemises is through with you," Nacht said plainly, his voice barely above a whisper.
He knew her name because she had stolen something from the Helkaer, thinking her so foolish to have attempted this in the first place. Suddenly, the black stag whistled to the skies. The mare looked puzzled, but her questions were answered as two other's joined them soon after. "Take her to Toxin Raj. I will be behind you," he instructed the two, who nodded and turned in to the mare. She fussed, but defeat was clear on her face. Nacht waited for them to disappear past the fog of their home to move, deciding to be safe and ensure no one was waiting for her signal. Nacht disappeared back into the foliage - pleased with himself, and hopeful that Nemises would appreciate this gift.
