DA for Silverado Silhouette
The four year old, Spanish-bred Appaloosa mixed mare snorted, it was Winter, night had fallen over this place, a full moon cast its silver glint over the entirety of the lands beneath and around her. She bucked playfully as her striped flints met the shifting sands beneath them, she kicked up granules of the sand. As she ran she threw sprays of sand from beneath her until she met the harder packed portion where the waves lapped the sand. Here she slid to a stop, just before her knives met the surf and a soft, rough laugh slipped free. Yes it was Winter, it had kissed the beach, but at least it didn't seem as cold here as farther inland.
She was a new transplant to this world, a place she never knew existed until she had struck out on her own. Silverado Silhouette was bred from Spanish show stock, but she was a brat that had not been planned for, at least not by the previous rulers she lived under, and on top of that she couldn't even manage to muster anything more than harsh, rough, gravelly lyrics and noises, it was why she had fled from her previous home. She was still young, had a lot of life ahead of her, yet, she couldn't be comfortable around a whole bunch of others anymore. Giving a soft, rough snort again she stomped in the water, breaking up her reflection.
"Why?! Why am I so different?!" She shouted...or at least tried to shout but only managed a harsh whisper, which only angered her more. Snorting again she stamped in the water once more and galloped from one cliffside to the other of the beach and she reared up, trying to scream her anger out but being unable too. She simply came back to all four hooves and her breaths came in ragged groupings as she tried to come back to calm. Sighing Silverado moved to the oceanside once more and gazed upon herself once again. She was beautiful, yet, she was unable to be a fully playful, relaxed adult mare, all because of one simple birth defect that made her self conscious and shy in the company of others. Well, maybe here she could be accepted as mostly normal by her peers. If only she didn't get so frustrated and angry so easily at her issues.
