Saniyya was out on one of her usual walks outside of the Highlands, seeking fresh food and water. Her lands were poisoned and nothing there was consumable. Her life had become invested in bringing fresh food back to her herd, seeking the nearest clean water sources, inviting angels to bless her and other lands within the Highlands, and being an effective High Priestess and ally to Utopia. It was a lot. Tensions between the two sides of the war were at their highest since she had become High Priestess, and Saniyya had no idea if her actions were helping or hindering the cause she fought for. She also consistently worried about her Versai Brother and Sister. How were they holding up? She especially worried for Xovad, whose justified murder of Xerxes’s son Ragnar had set off the latest waves of misfortune for them.
All of that aside, though, the weather was beautiful and it was nice to be in lands that didn’t stink of the Underworld’s taint. Snorting, Sani considered which freeland was the best to visit today. Her Versai brand just visible beneath her mane, the silver dapple black mare decided to set off for Unclaimed Hearts. Most mares went there when they were seeking a home; for Sani, it was just a nice landscape and place to be. Feeling almost close to content despite the weight of the duties on her shoulders, Saniyya paused next to a particularly jubilant creek chugging its way down through a meadow. She breathed in the fresh air and felt lines of tension leave her torso. She was away from her responsibilities here, though her Versai brand remained visible to all.
Dipping her head, Sani took a mouthful of the grasses underhoof in her mouth. Raising her head, she chewed thoughtfully, silver eyes scanning the area around her as she ate. The creek provided moisture for her mouth after a few more mouthfuls of grass. Savoring the sweet, clear taste of the water, the Versai High Priestess let herself let go for a moment. She was simply here to enjoy a beautiful day, away from the atrocities of the war and the responsibilities awaiting her back home. This was a chance to relax, and she took it, flitting her eyes closed for a moment and cocking a hoof as the sun pleasantly warmed her from above.
