This is a holiday and you've been resurrected
Rise from the grave when everyone least expects it
Rise from the grave when everyone least expects it
Time had passed since he'd been stolen by Thomasin and rescued by Rasa before Lord Xerxes could slaughter him. Upon returning home, Hymn had found Valfrid pacing through Lyrarcor. They discussed the tax that Nemesis held on their land, wanting a Nephilim and it had just seemed like the sensible thing to do, offering to come here as part of the tax. Valfrid had been hesitant, until Hymn had explained that maybe, somehow, he could find Dahlia and bring her back home. It was risky but it was worth a shot. When he'd come here to Toxin Rah, his throat had still been tender and heavily scabbed. Now, he was fully healed, with a scar left to tell the tale of how he'd been attacked by Ragnar but survived. He was grateful for Valfrid being there at the right time, but he still felt immensely guilty for needed to be rescued in the first place. The least he could do was try and find Dahlia. However, being kept in a dark cavern lit only by glowing worms had not been in the plan. To be honest, the youthful Nephilim hadn't even had an exact plan. He'd just wanted to do something other than sit there and wait. At least the tax was paid. Hopefully, that would keep Nemesis off his brother's back. Valfrid was doing his best but he could tell that his older brother was stressed, last he'd seen him. He could imagine he was even more stressed now.
Standing along in the dim lighting, Hymn had nothing but time left to think about his next move. Perhaps he could trick the Helkaer woman into thinking that he was able to be corrupted and turned against his family. Maybe then he could gain the trust of the Helkaer, only to turn his back on them and throw it in their dirty rotten faces. It was an idea, sure, but could he pull it off? Feeling antsy, he began to pace, hooves clopping against the stone floor in a steady rhythm. Other than his hooves, and the faint dripping of water deeper down somewhere in the cave system, it was quiet. Hymn hated it down here. He missed the sun and the fresh air! He missed home, his family. He also missed Elena. Would he ever see her again? She was his best friend, outside of his family, and to know he had been in her home, but unable to see her, was devastating. He wondered if she had been able to pick up his scent at all. Hopefully, she had not mentioned it, if she had. Hymn would not put it past Thomasin and Selven to torture the girl just to get information out of her, even if she was a herd member of there's.
