Heh, he supposed this was well deserved. Coveting your leads concubine often got you in a world of shit. Cassidy just hadn't ever really considered what to do after it sullied him. His hooves carefully stepped across the loose cobble of this particular height's crest, eyeing any loose stone that tumbled down, down, down into the valleys below. Numerous others were mingled here in some sort of communal agreeance. He'd never personally seen so many co-mingling amongst herds, or even factions, but there was a first for everything. Still, he kept at a distance. He was new here and hadn't yet got the land's natural scent mixed with his own windswept and fir tree cologne. Anyone with half a brain would tell he'd just arrived, and from experience, a lone stallion around other mares? Not a good first impression, especially considering his history.
Other studs and colts seemed fascinating by these rugged steppes though, lingering upon the stone. He paused his pursuit to watch several of his juniors rough and tumble about only to spook themselves with the reminder of mortality when they wandered too close to a rather steep fall. The boys shied away, looking between themselves and then around. They found Cassidy staring at them, a single brow perked as he just continued to study. "Best to pick a good place to fight if you're going to give it a go, lads." he chided, though his tone was cordial, if not amused. Uninterested in boyish games, he moved past the - what he could only assume - weanlings and jumped to a lower section of the highlands. Still, he found his golden hazel eyes wandering, staring out upon the fields, eyeing the plume of a geyser somewhere in the distance reaching above the horizon and trees. It was a rather striking view from here, bathed in the bright glow of midday. Summer was in full swing, he could feel the sting of the sun's rays upon his charcoal spotting, but it was still rather comfortable to languish here in the company of others.
He tottered about some more, simply ambling and keeping his eyes on a pivot. Everyone already seemed engaged in some sort of conversation or individual. Sure, he could prove himself a stallion worth his own weight and approach any of the mares below, perhaps even a group of them, but the idea left a bitter taste on his tongue. So he remained high, perching himself upon an incline so that he may still gaze upon the vast expanse. At least if he was going to stay here, it was one hell of a view.
