Lady of the Underworld Coronation and Dungeon Crawl Sign-Up Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall. Dusk has fallen this Autumn eve, a cold wind rolls across the lands of Wild Equines, an ethereal pull to all who's curiosity is roused by this unnatural sensation. The wind carries with it the sounds of drums 🪘, a rhythm to match the thudding of anticipation in one's chest. Following this icy breeze and the music it carries with it, one will soon find themselves at the border of The Whore House, the usual eerie demeanour of the landscape now exotic and enticing… Candles suspended by unseen palms line the way to the event, drawing one in, guiding them with their dancing flames… but as soon as the border is crossed, the sensation of fingers upon the flesh of one's face can be felt, soft prodding and dragging until a mask is painted upon them. Mortals will be decorated in this 🎭 way, the Helkaer like this 🎭, the Versai this way 🎭, and the Vigilum like this 🎭 and those of the afterlife will be adorned with these markings 🎭.
As they draw closer to The Whore House itself, the drums grow louder, but no instruments nor hands to play them can be seen. The building is draped in emerald green vines where vipers linger and velvet curtains of the deepest reds, accented by gold lining and tassels. The main entrance to the house is adorned by hundreds of candles, a lion skin is laid atop the platform at the top of the steps, the usual decaying door frame now a magnificent altar. To the left, a large stone table is placed, laden with fruits, both fresh and fermented, along with fresh meats and other delicacies. Blood is provided in stone basins, as is fresh minted water to cleanse one's palate in others.
Around the building, both mares and stallions linger, ready to satisfy any and all carnal desires. To the right of the altar, a stone table adorned with gifts and trinkets lay, these are gifts to the attendees, as well as an area for any gifts for La Laurie to be placed.
All are welcome to attend the festivities, all are welcome to engage in whatever their hearts desire, be that gluttony, savagery or the most depraved forms of lust. Should you bring violence, you will be met with the same. Should you bring joy, you will be met with the same. And for those who wish to make this night one of adventure, greatness is promised. Be warned though, what relationships you make or break this night will not be forgotten, and the risks you take might have everlasting results...information- We are utilizing the Lady of the Underworld coronation to set the stage for Wild Equines' second Dungeon Crawl. This is both an attempt to bring a uniqueness to La Laurie's coronation, as well as to not overwhelm roleplayers with too many different writing events happening at once.
- All characters of all alliances are invited.
- As per usual coronations, for participating in this event and posting in this group thread, you will be rewarded with 15,000 WE points.
- The challenge is to participate in at least 1 individual thread with someone else present at the event. If each roleplayer makes 3 posts each, you will receive 50,000 WE points.
- Additionally, this coronation serves as the sign-up thread for the Dungeon Crawl. In order to have your character participate in the Dungeon Crawl, they must be posted here IC. Only characters who are in attendance at La Laurie's coronation will be made aware of the Dungeon Crawl via an announcement made by Lord Xerxes. Please find information regarding the Dungeon Crawl here.
- Any character wishing to be involved in the Dungeon Crawl needs to include an OOC note mentioning their sign-up in their post, as well as include a written portion of their IC post mentioning them leaving the main party to head towards the lake.
- You are not required to participate in the Dungeon Crawl if you want your character to simply attend the coronation as usual. If so, please post your character iC in this thread as well.
The coronation begins on September 28th and will run until November 28th.
Please allow Xerxes and La Laurie to be posted first and provide further information on the night's activities.

The marble behemoth stood silently outside the crumbling structure of the Whore House, his hellish eyes raking over the exterior of the building with a smug appreciation. His handiwork was immaculate, a grand offering to the woman who had so brazenly put herself forwards for the vacancy beside him. Truth be told, he was growing weary of these affairs, these grandiose welcomes and silent exits without explanation. First Akroma had deserted her post, without rhyme nor reason only to return and be offended that he had followed the very same process she had when he had been removed from power as a mortal. Then there was Teca, a mare who seemingly craved validation, to be liked by all, even their enemies. When the war had been declared by Rasa, it had been she who had tried to tame Leviathan, to appease him and promise him the safety of his dear friend. A dear friend that resided in The Howling Keep no less - was Thomasin aware? Had Teca placed the value of a promise to an enemy over the value of loyalty from a steadfast ally of the Underworld? If the witch queen was ever to learn of this deceit, he wondered how well she would take it, how strong would her faith be in the Underworld? With a thoughtful hum resounding from his muscled chest, the devil strode up the decorated steps, moving into the darkness of the Whore House with confidence and ease - a home from home in both this life and the last.
The bastard king had decided to change things up a bit this time, making sure it would be a coronation none would forget in a hurry. A challenge was to be posed to all who came this fateful night, a test of their strength, wit and determination. For now though, all secrets remained as such, held tightly to his chest until the moment to reveal all would arise. His titan pools glowered through the murk of the dilapidated building, his daggers hitting the floor beneath him with audible thuds as he surveyed the selection of mares on offer from Charm himself. Surely a little sample before the festivities began wouldn't hurt? Afterall, it had been quite some time... Whilst there had been those who desired his seed to enhance their lineage, there were others who wanted him just to say they had the opportunity, the privilege, to be bedded by the demon king. Whilst he was neither attracted nor put off by the newly crowned Lady of Hell, he was yet to consider her anything more than a ruling partner, a necessity, a cog in a machine that apparently could not function without her... time would tell if she would be worth the effort he had put into this evening, let alone the crown now placed upon her head. As his horned atlas turned upon its joint to peer into one of the many boudoirs of the Whore House, his gaze alighted upon a mare that bore similar markings to Akroma, nowhere near as exquisite, but one could imagine, if they tried hard enough... stepping into the room with the lass, he raked his acidic eyes over her flesh with a ravenous eye. She appeared willing enough, slithering towards him... the sun was still high in the sky, he had time to satisfy his desires before accommodating others...
The hue of the sky was a reddish bronze, the stars beginning to permeate the ether as he moved out of the whore's chambers, the mogul seemingly made of polished marble as he strode through the shadows and towards the very doorway he had entered in not long ago. The hum of voices could be heard, the stench of mortals and afterlife denizens accosting his nares as he scoured the shadows around him. La Laurie was close, he could feel her, sense her, smell her... it was then, as he rounded his gargantuan mass, did he feel the sensation of fingers prodding and smearing his façade, a black sigil painted across his facade. It was then, he pushed through the red velvet drapes that hung across the door, standing before those who had attended on what looked like an altar adorned in candles with a large lion skin beneath his feet. Slowly, he took each and everyone of them into his gaze, the eerie drums continuing to pound by unseen hands, their rhythm carried across the lands until they suddenly fell silent. Welcome, one and all, he began, his rough nordic tones slipping into the atmosphere, his inky lips twisting at the corners in an insidious smirk. To a night unlike any other - he moved his mass deftly to the left, allowing space for the hell queen to stand beside him when the time was right. Tonight, we celebrate the ascension of your new Lady of Hell, La Laurie, his hellish optics bore into the beasts before him, a sinister smile curling his lips as his ivory cords sliced against his hocks. All tastes have been catered to, but for those with a hunger for adventure - the drums began then, rising in volume before he continued on. - Be sure to gather by the lake for the first of many challenges you will be presented with this night... Then, as the drums grew louder, invisible hands pulled back the claret curtains hanging over the door to reveal La Laurie, the dreadlord dipping his crown to her as she emerged, all eyes upon her to hear what she had to say...

LA' LAURIE mtetezi wa shetani The Devil's Advocate
The stagnant air of the underworld had become lively with the eerie drum of phantom fingers and the heavy perfume of the new Hell Lady. La' Laurie admired herself in an object akin to a mirror that floated before her mass. She had opted out of the extravagant headpiece typical of a mambo, for tonight she would address herself as much more than what she was in her mortal life. The phantom fingers refreshed the golden markings along her beautiful face, framing her full cheeks and large predatory eyes. Spidery lashes blinked softly in admiration of herself. Her massive horns were now tipped in ornamental gold, the small sharp pieces tied onto the ink and ivory weapons by strong and thin spun gold. Her elongated slender towers were pierced at the tip with two golden hoops, as was her nose pierced by a large yet sleek golden bull ring. Spun gold glittered as it was draped from the tip of her horns to her towers, and a long glittering string attached to her nose. The Loa of Erzulie was painted delicately in gold along the left side of her neck in the rich chocolate patch on her nape, as was one painted upon the ivory of her flesh on her gaskin upon the same side. She was sure the goddess would be pleased by her appearance and recognition of her.
"Ianze" La' Laurie said simply then, as the mirror like object vanished, and so too did she.
The woman appeared within the confines of The Whore House then, a warm smile sitting pleasantly upon her soft, salmon colored labrums. She could feel the thump of drums deep within her bones, could feel the presence of ancestors from way long past haunting the halls of this vicious place and the old mambo was pleased. Silks of the finest deepest greens were hung throughout, Velvet curtains of the richest crimson lined int he same vivid green and sparkling gold dotted doorways and halls. Floating candles illuminated the surroundings as well, and La' Laurie could not the pleasant hum that vibrated through her chest. Her extra long tresses of ivory and auburn bounced and swayed with each movement she made and it was not long before she could feel the invisible fingers prodding at her flesh once again. The heavy thump of the drums grew louder, forcing her undead heart to match their pace. Predatory eyes of violaceous hue looked around at the lingering whores and whoreson's. None so far caught the devil's mistress eye. She would make a note to precure more time of Carnallusts' to find a virgin worthy of being drained.
Laurie could feel the pull of her shetani now, his heavy presence even haughtier than that of the phantoms that now slipped their cold prying fingers across the flesh of her face. Marking her as that of the afterlife. She smiled softly once again. She could hear the deep nordic tones of her named Xerxes, his speech simple and to the point. Telling those that gathered of her name and of a challenge presented to them. La' Laurie straightend her frame then, allowing her massive wings to erupt from her shoulder blades. The ivory bat like appendages fit her quite well, and she found herself taking a brief moment to admire them. The fingers were strong, yet lithe, the once bloody awkward things, now a beautiful and crisp ivory, the knuckles of the things blushed by the ichor that settled beneath the leather. The membrane was also interesting, slightly pink and nearly translucent, mimicking once more the way thin pale skin would disperse light when pulled taunt over a stretching post. Laurie's self appraisal was short as Xerxes's lyrics came to an end and the crimson curtains pulled back by invisible hands. La' Laurie walked forward from the soft shadows, dripping candles dancing lazily near her sides, illuminating her in an eerie soft light. Her feminine yet heavy crown tipped to Xerxes' in return. 'My shetani' she spoke directly to his mind as their opposing gazes met before she settled in at his side. Her frame visibly only a step behind his shoulder. Her jet black hooves nestled nicely upon the fresh pelt of the lion.
"All the thanks to you, my Lord Xerxes.. and thanks to all whom be here now." Laurie said easily, her heavy accent falling in line with the light drumming now. "I shall make little promises to you. Though faces of some I do recognize as I stand here now.. I only say this to those, and to you all-" She paused, her vocals a loud and clear strum above the background of the ancient drums, "give me your loyalty, and I give you mine. I shall give you knowledge that is lost to your kind. These spirits that touch you be of Baron and Legba; masters of which I practice. And of which I now give to you, freely to learn." Laurie paused once more, her large crown turning to look upon Xerxes. Though her smile was neutral, friendly even, the next words that came from her jaws were a warning; "ikataeni karama yangu hii, na mpate kuvumilia. Kwa damu na jiwe, na moto, na majivu. Mstari juu ya Mstari utageuka kuwa vumbi. Mama wa mama yako, na mtoto wa mtoto wako. Nafsi ambazo zitaliwa." Her native tongue spilled freely, despite knowing only Xerxes would understand the words. The drumming rose to a peak before crashing into silence as a bitter wind snuffed out the candles around Laurie. All that remained was one that highlighted the golden loa on her neck.
La' Laurie let out a wonderous laugh then, the invisible drums coming back to life as did the flames upon the candles, brightening up the alter and herself once again. "I have plans for those of you whom wish to hear them after all. So please, eat, drink. Sin to the deepest depth of your being! and Come, whoever may, I would like nothing more than to get to know those near me better, and to hear whatever concerns you may have." La' Laurie stopped speaking then, her long thick tresses being combed by the phantom fingers gently into a neat coil along her fetlocks as she kept her gaze upon the beings before her. She would learn quickly whom all was whom as each face that came was painted. The ancestors whom danced all around them made it so. Perhaps this was their gift to the voodoo woman for her quick ascension aside the shetani of this realm. For all worse masks, however tonight, their mask would show their true colors. There would be no hiding as the spirits would not allow such a thing on such a joyous occasion. The spirits would help guide her here as they once did above, for Laurie surely was a devout purveyor of the Baron. Her life's work a fine testament to it even as she now stood before what she could only assume to be non believers.

[attr="class", main] [attr="class", image] [attr="class", name] Charm
[attr="class", post] My whole existence is flawed You get me closer to God Drums filled the air, mystical and magical. Charm had been busy for the last several hours, making sure all things were running smoothly. His humble home had been requested to be the setting for La Laurie's Coronation. He knew the Ghosts were extremely happy about it, devoted to the Underworld as they were, and Charm himself was very pleased with the decision as well. He had encountered La Laurie only once before, but tonight would be a celebration of her. The Shire was eager for the festivities to commence, and was curious to see who would show up. His home was open to everyone and anyone tonight - angels and demons and everything in between, immortal or mortal. Who would be brave enough to show up, he pondered, and who would be too scared to dare to approach the place? A smirk upon his face, Charm did one last patrol around the border, speaking with the guards who each had been uniquely marked as a mortal - just like Charm himself was. The strange painted marks on his face, and on the faces of his guards, made his chuckle when he saw them. He'd never considered himself one for dressing up like many others in Wild Equines did, but he would allow it, at least for the night. By the time he returned to the main festival area, it was approaching time for the Coronation to behind. Charm took a place at the front of the crowd, near where Xerxes and La Laurie would stand, facing them. He didn't want to overstep any boundaries, but this was first and foremost his home. It would be important for anyone here tonight to remember that. Settling into the shadows, ethereal candlelight flickering over his face as he gazed up at the Lord and Lady of the Underworld, Charm listened as Xerxes spoke. Welcome, one and all, Xerxes's familiar accented tones filled his ears, Charm's blackened eyes staring at the hell beast. To a night unlike any other - He shifted, leaving space beside him Tonight, we celebrate the ascension of your new Lady of Hell, La Laurie, All tastes have been catered to, but for those with a hunger for adventure, The drums were building, anticipation rising, but Charm was relaxed and utterly at ease. - Be sure to gather by the lake for the first of many challenges you will be presented with this night... And then the curtains were pulled by invisible hands and there stood La Laurie in the flesh, beautiful as ever. Charm's gaze lingered on her, grinning handsomely. She looked maddeningly beautiful and powerful, standing upon the lion pelt beside Xerxes. "All the thanks to you, my Lord Xerxes.. and thanks to all whom be here now." Charm's ears twitched, listening, eyes focused on the Lady of Darkness. "I shall make little promises to you. Though faces of some I do recognize as I stand here now.. I only say this to those, and to you all-" A pause, the silence filled with the beating of the drums. "give me your loyalty, and I give you mine. I shall give you knowledge that is lost to your kind. These spirits that touch you be of Baron and Legba; masters of which I practice. And of which I now give to you, freely to learn." Baron and Legba, entities Charm knew not of. But the afterlife was strange like that, he supposed. "ikataeni karama yangu hii, na mpate kuvumilia. Kwa damu na jiwe, na moto, na majivu. Mstari juu ya Mstari utageuka kuwa vumbi. Mama wa mama yako, na mtoto wa mtoto wako. Nafsi ambazo zitaliwa." Thought he did not know what the words meant, he could feel the power within them. He could only assume what they meant, but had no true knowledge of the language to be sure. And then there was silence, even the drums stuffed, a sudden wind with an autumn chill rushing through and making the flames of the candles flicker and then extinguish. All except for one, illuminating a portion of La Laurie's next. Oh, how theatrical. The drums and the flames came back when she laughed and Charm chuckled himself, shaking his head with amusement. "I have plans for those of you whom wish to hear them after all. So please, eat, drink. Sin to the deepest depth of your being! and Come, whoever may, I would like nothing more than to get to know those near me better, and to hear whatever concerns you may have." The drums evened out and Charm made his move, albeit a short one, since he was at the front of the crowd. He stepped forward, his voice strong and confident. "Hail the Underworld. And hail you, La Laurie and Xerxes. You have me, my home, and my service." He dipped his head, giving the pair a wink. "Should the Underworld ever need me, you know where to find me." He lifted his head, turning away and walking toward the table where the fruits were placed, picking up one of the non-fermented ones and carrying it off, still close enough to watch what was going on, to eat in relative peace. Nemesis had heard that the Lady of the underworld, Teca, no longer held her throne. She only knew this because of the invitation she'd had to attend the coronation of the new lady. She had decided it would be wise to attend given their current alliance with the helkaer. Nemesis was volatile, but she certainly understood loyalty. She would not be the one who jeopardized that relationship. Nemesis had never once turned her loyalties elsewhere when it came Sly either. The fallen commander was still a sore spot for her. The dark bay arrived at The Whore House and spotted the festivities easily. The land smelled of rot and decay beneath the pretty scenery. It was strange how fitting that felt when it came to the event. Nemesis had never set foot here but she'd heard the nightmare that were said to occur here. Much like Thomasin, she was disappointed that this individual did not join the Helkaer. It definitely seemed like wasted potential. Regardless, she joined the growing collection of bodies that were filling into the gathering and waited attentively for the afterlife creatures to address the invitees. Her violet gaze studied the female demoness as she approached. Her appearance, in some ways, reminded her if Teca. Nemesis was dressed up for this event too, but she could still see some similarities between the two lady's. She wondered if that was common in the afterlife. The wild appearances. There were mortals who tried the same thing but it never quite hit the same way that those of the afterlife did. Nemesis finally allowed her gaze to wander and take in the ornate setup for this gathering. It was far more extravagant than the previous ones she'd attended. The smell of meat and blood caught her attention. It was so freely offered just as the fruits were. Her stomach rumbled and she gravitated towards it. Nemesis had her snack, and felt far more refreshed than she had in days. Just as she finished both Xerxes and the now named La Laurie addressed the crowd. They indicated they had a message for any who would listen, and that there would be a set of challenges. That piqued her interest and she moved from the refreshments to go and stand before the two leaders of the underworld. "Congratulations on your crown. My name is Nemesis. We should be seeing one another soon." She stated as an open invitation to both the new lady and xerxes. Nemesis decided to hang around the area Xerxes indicated and wait for the challenges to begin. Duramus felt duty drag at his hooves as he approached the borders of the Whore House. He had been meaning to make a trip to this land regardless on other business, but now he made it for the sake of the Lady of the Underworld’s Coronation. There was a new Lady under circumstances no one knew of. As a Vigilum, Duramus knew he had a duty to attend and get to know the new Lady. He wondered if she would be of a mysterious character similar to the last one, whom he had met perhaps only once and then never again. Xerxes appeared to be waging this war more actively, so Duramus also hoped to gain a sense of whether the new Lady would be interested in partaking or not. As the bay draft mix stepped across the borders, he felt a sensation upon his face. He had no idea what it meant, but decided he would just hope for the best as he moved further in.
Drums guided him to the scene, where a building lined with vines and adorned with more candles stood waiting for equines to enter. The scarred Vigilum took his time, feeling something otherworldly about this event as he entered to view an altar, a table laden with fruits and meats, and basins with blood and water. It was the usual mix for a Dark coronation. Dur figured the fruit and water could at least be worth a try. He was eyeing the mares and stallions at the borders of the room warily when Xerxes spoke, welcoming everyone to the coronation. He spoke of standard fare, until he mentioned an opportunity to gather by the lake in the Freelands for some adventure later on. That was new, and refreshing. Dur considered attending as the new Lady of the Underworld stepped forward. She was certainly adorned with jewelry. The new Lady spoke with an interesting accent Duramus did not recognize. He listened as she gave a fairly standard speech – loyalty in exchange for loyalty, knowledge of spirits, and something in her native tongue that Dur did not understand. Regardless, he felt the truth in them and figured that perhaps later on he’d ask what she said.
As she finished speaking, Duramus nodded, glancing at the attendees curiously. None had moved yet for the adventure. Duramus noticed the long line of attendees waiting to speak to the Lady and rapidly made his decision. Perhaps he could speak to her directly later…but first, the Vigilum found himself oddly interested in whatever this adventure would be. It could be a change of pace, and that could be welcome. Duramus nodded, turning away from the party and setting off for the lake. He definitely wanted to check out whatever this adventure was going to be.

Yeah we all still die What will you leave behind? Having an invitation come from the Underworld, in regards to a Coronation of a new Lady, had Rasa highly suspect of what it meant. She was going to go, but she really did not want to set foot in The Whore House. She despised the place and its arrogant, dickhead owner. Charm was evil and corrupt and Rasa wanted to set fire to his whole establishment, but he would probably make it impossible to get everyone out in time that was innocent. Children would burn in those flames, and she would become a slayer of innocence. No, she had to come up with a new plan, something to make sure those that were innocent made it out alive, safe and sound. But would they truly be of sound mind, after having life with Charm? Even Talia struggled to this day after her long captivity with the mortal man. A pit welled up in her stomach and she sighed heavily, walking up to the border of The Whore House. She could hear drums in the distance and as she walked, she felt something like feathers - fingers? - ghosting over her face but the touch was invisible. She emerged from the shadows of the woods, marked with now dry paint that announced her as a member of the afterlife (as if those gathered here wouldn't know). Her gut twisted and her lips pinched together in a look of disgust, ears laid back as she moved in the direction of the growing crowd. She had never been welcomed into Charm's home like this before. She wondered if there would be opportunities to sneak around, find out things that no one outside of Charm's inner circle knew. Taking a deep breath, the stench of decay heavy in the air, Rasa stayed toward the outer edges of the crowd as the gathered around what looked to be an altar. There stood Xerxes, speaking to the crowd, and then the curtain was pulled back and out stepped the new Lady. And even Rasa had to admit she felt chills run along her skin as she gazed at the heavily decorated woman. La Laurie spoke, first in the common tongue, and then in a language she was not familiar with, but she could feel the power behind the words. It would be wise not to cause a scene at this Coronation, she knew. Instead, seeing an opening, Rasa begrudgingly approached the woman. "La Laurie. Congratulations on your rise. I am Rasa, Lady of Utopia. I expect we will be seeing more of you around." It was a dig at Xerxes's former Lady, who seemed so absent as the war progressed. "Until we meet again." She narrowed her eyes at Xerxes, jaw clenching, but she said nothing, merely walking away and to go and find a place to linger and listen to the commotion that was bound to happen. Cadence had been surprised when a coronation for the Lady of the Underworld had been announced. It hadn't been all that long ago that he'd seen the former Lady at his own Coronation. Granted she had not been invited as all of Wild Equines had been for this one. The roan lord knew that Rasa would likely be attending this coronation as well. Especially with the war in full swing, they couldn't afford to have a faceless enemy creeping around in the Afterlife. His amber eyes scanned the horizon ahead as he flew from Utopia toward a land that he found extremely uncomfortable. The Whore House. Cadence had also been here not that long ago because he'd taken Charm's soul. Now they were using this vile domain as the venue for their party. He frowned to himself as he drew closer to the land. He could practically smell the rot and decay that he had not forgotten about since his last visit.
The roan lord spotted Rasa amidst the gathering, and some of his disgust and rage was quelled slightly. He came to a land on the ground below in the heart of the gathering. It had been decorated, and to his surprise and chagrin, it was beautiful. But the smell underneath was something he could still detect. While they might have distracted others, they had not distracted him. Cadence remained expressionless while he listened to Xerxes begin to speak, and then followed by his new Lady. La Laurie. He had slid his way over to Rasa to stand beside her until she moved forward to greet the new lady, and address Xerxes. It was cordial and nothing more. Probably far more than they deserved if it was his opinion. He waited for Rasa to depart back into the crowd before he approached the two counterpart afterlife leaders. He had wanted to make a jab about his previous, disrespectful lady, but he held his tongue for now.
The irritation he'd felt almost felt as if it were beyond him. As if some other force was manipulating or influencing him. "Congratulations, La Laurie. I am Cadence, Lord of Utopia. I am sure we will be in contact." Cadence followed Rasa's lead and decided to remain cordial with them. He merely cast his gaze toward Xerxes but he said nothing. Instead it waas a simple stare, and one that held a decent amount of hostility within. But he turned and departed from the front of the gathering. Cadence went to join Rasa. Image by Dovetales

Serendipity knew very well that curiosity killed the cat, but she couldn’t help herself when the invitation for the lady of the Underworld’s coronation was sent out. Two historically dark events and they were open to all. She was sure there was something sinister behind it, but she was drawn to the danger. Seren had always been interested in all sides of the afterlife. Maybe it was in her blood, but she felt no draw to either side and had remained neutral in the war. The quararab found that she was different from the Versai before her as she did not automatically align herself with Utopia, and she felt that maybe there was, somehow, a way to have a relationship with both. It was a big dream, hell, many would see it strictly as a far off fantasy, but Serendipity liked to dream big. She was well aware that the Underworld and Versai were very much enemies, but it didn’t hinder her from hoping. The smokey mare was unsure if any of the Versai would be joining her at the event. It was often she attended these things and conversed with no one, but it did not stop her from showing her face. No, she had not yet made an impact as a Versai, but it did not stop her from showing her face and making herself known. She hoped to one day make a difference, but for now she would wander the lands as a simple equine with two fancy marks on her shoulders. On her right, the mark of the Versai. On her left a skull, the mark of her father Toxic. She wore both proudly. Representing that she wanted to be a different kind of Versai. A protector of the good, rather than just the light, and a fighter of evil. Did this make her an enemy of the Underworld? Sure. Though, it didn’t mean she couldn’t develop some sort of relationship with them. Wasn’t it in the saying “to keep your enemies closer?” The flickering lights drew her into the Whore House. It was a well known land with a terrible history. Of course this would be the chosen venue of the Lady of the damned. Her pools scanned her surroundings feeling automatically pulled in the direction of the event as if she had been here in a past life. As she grew closer she could hear drums and feel fingers draw upon her face. Chills ran down her spine as she felt markings be placed upon her face. Then she was in the gathering place. Her color changing orbs shifting from color to color as she took in the decor and the faces of those who were gathering. Before her was the extravagant throne and the Lord and Lady of the Underworld. She had only heard stories of Xerxes, from her mother. While she knew the things they could both do to her if they so wanted she stared at them in awe of their elegance and power. She approached the altar knowing the history between their groups and knowing there was a long road of mending that history if there was even a chance. Maybe this would be the initiating force or maybe she was just asking for more trouble. Congratulations for your ascension to the throne La Laurie. I am Oleander of the Versai. The young mare bowed her head in respect and turned toward Xerxes and did the same. Xerxes She stated simply before taking her leave. If they wanted more from her she was sure they would seek her out, but for now she would mingle among the others. Tags: Everyone! Words: 614 Comments: Only here for the Coronation. The woman who had taken her soul, who had dragged it down to the depths of the abyss had fallen, another rising to take her place. Thomasin had met the blood and bone hued witch only once, when she had offered her soul to become a seer for the Underworld, to pledge her allegiance to them in the only way she could in this existence. She had hoped, perhaps foolishly, it would have been a two-way street - they saw what harm may befall her alone, not just as a collective species. Yet no word had come from Hell regarding the abduction and death of her babes, the kidnapping and brutalising of Selven. Her molars ground down upon one another, the tension rippling through her jaw as she set off from the Howling Keep alone, her snow spattered limbs extending and lifting her body into a powerful thrice beat, as she made the brief journey towards The Whore House. Another Coronation, this time for the position beside Xerxes, one that was to be held at the home of one of her own denizens, no less.
The sky was dipped in deepening hues of claret, the closer it got to the heavens, the darker it became, as if the sun was bleeding out into the ether, darkening the world below. Marduk flew beside her, gliding on the gentle autumn breeze as the two made their way to the suarez in silence. Her golden optics scoured the ever darkening woodland that ensnared the royal lands, the ground ascending into rocky slopes and outcrops as she deftly manoeuvred the base of the mountains. As her forelegs extended, her quarters powered herforwards, her mass gliding over fallen logs and side-stepping rocks and debris with all the ease of a fawn. Since Belial’s ascension to the position beside her, the return of Selven and the knowledge of her brood’s untimely demise, she had dedicated herself to improvement. Physically, she was in the best shape of her life. Mentally, she was destroyed.
As she drew closer to the borders of The Whore House, her gait slowed firstly to an extended duo beat, then to a lazy jog and then finally a purposeful walk. Her nape was held in a strong arch, her gilded optics two heat seeking pools of malice as she crossed through the foliage with ease. It started as a tickle, the sensation of her features being probed and caressed by unseen digits was almost as enjoyable as it was unnerving. Marduk braced his wings against the evening air, his talons extended as they took purchase upon the curve of her withers, joining his ward for the festivities. The two moved in silence, her regal features poised as guards that lined the pathway dipped their crowns to her, the gesture returned in kind until she finally saw the throng of beasts at the opening of the Whore House. There were those of many alliances, beliefs and otherwise in attendance, yet the Witch Queen found herself situated behind a Versai mare as she fell into step.
Her gilded scrutiny landed firstly upon the familiar frame of Nemesis, her greeting brief and to the point. Durasmus was here too, the Vigilum lead, likely gathering as much information as he could to stash away. Thomasin allowed her gaze to linger there for a moment, before those spitefilled eyes landed upon the bodies of the Utopians and The Versai. They greeted the Underwolrd leads with disdain, without respect, like children meeting their scorned parents. With a sly smirk curling her beautiful features, she pressed on, her nape held in a regal arch, yet as she followed behind the Versai mare, the scorn upon her features did not leave her enemy’s backs until they all had moved on, leaving her to face Xerxes and his newly crowned queen before her. Slowly, she peeled her auriferous optics from their backs to face Xerxes first, her crown dipping more to these beasts than any other. My lord, and then, as her crown rose, did she drink in the image of La Laurie. A magnificent woman, adorned in finery and power alike, yet she felt no fear. What is dead cannot die, afterall. La Laurie, she began, her crown dipping with ease before rising once more to meet the gaze of the undead hag. I am Thomasin, Queen of the Dark Kingdom, her eyes did not release those of the Unholy Queen, her lips set in cat-like smile as she studied her for a moment longer. Whatever you need… she trailed off, dipping her crown once more as she left the invitation open. Her views on the position now held by this fiend had been tained by her predecessor, it was now upto this La Laurie to change her view. With a final look to the behemoths, she turned on her haunches and moved towards the gathering beasts, a glowering look lingering upon the Utopians and Versai alike. Thomasin feared not their wrath, for here she was in the majority.

Oh, when we met you thought that I could probably change I warned you then, that baby, I don't seem insane But I fucking am
Another fallen lady, the first to crumble after his mother had departed her throne and her family. Everest could have said he hoped this one would do better, but… Hope was not a feeling acknowledged by the fiend, for it was a fool's game and he was no such thing. Whatever hole his father had chosen to sit beside him was little of his concern, until he took the place of the bone king, only then would his sire's decisions have any impact on his life. Until then, he was simply here out of curiosity, to see who this La Laurie was, to see who would bow and bend their knees before her like dogs, and those who were here to size up their enemy. Much like the coronation of the Dark King, this was an open invitation, free for all. No rules, no guards, no reason for him to behave. Everest moved across the mortal realm in silence, his ghostly daggers brushing through the grasses, not over them. His approach was silent, his mass translucent, a spectre upon these lands, a ghost, a poltergeist. A plague. The red light of the sun mostly shone through him, his contours only slightly visible as the ethereal bastard pressed on, to many he would be little more than a shadow in the corner of their eye.
He found both positives and negatives in his physical state when in the mortal realm - here, and Eden, he was untouchable, he could get as close to anyone he wanted and there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. Yet, on the other hand, he could not physically maim as he may desire to. He could not peel flesh from their bones, he could not savour the taste of their blood. But he had the power, the ability and more importantly the urge, to possess them and make them do it themselves. The thought alone roused a sick smile to cut into his features - did Rasa know what he had done to Chidea, how he'd possessed her to end her life? Did she know that it had been him who had toppled a dynasty of King's? That he had coerced and corrupted Avinash beyond aid? Hell, if Rasa did know, did she even care? He still waltzed freely around, and he would continue to do so, even on this eve not dedicated to him. The sound of drums echoed in his lobes as he drew ever closer to the setting of this party, The Whore House. His sire had told him of Charm and The Ghosts, of their dedication to the Underworld, seemingly no matter who sat upon the throne. Everest wondered truly how loyal this Charm was, yet something told Everest the mortals loyalty was firstly to himself, then to whatever rump ruled the abyss.
The sensation of fingers brushing his face made him chuckle, ignoring the feeling as he continued down the well worn track towards the crumbling structure ahead. Floating flickers of fire guided his path, dancing and bobbing in the air in time with the drums. His cerulean pools scoured the gathering ahead, a dark smile carving his pallid lips upward at the corners. Instead of joining the herd ahead, instead of falling into line, he deviated from the path, moving to stand himself against the shadows of the woodland that embraced this congregation. His lobes twisted forwards as his father spoke, his deep norse accent commanding the attention of all in attendance. Everest ensured his father felt the weight of his scrutiny, of the coldness in his eyes, even as he announced La Laurie. Everest released Xerxes from his gaze, this time watching as an ivory and mahogany splashed maiden emerged from behind a curtain. She spoke in a tongue he did not understand, nor did he care too, and then one he understood. She exhibited her powers briefly, garnering some gasps from the crowd, and some distant musings. And then it began, each beast falling into line to sum up their opponents or adore their idols. Everest remained unmoving, watching as those of the Helkaer and dark royals emerged, as well as Utopians and their Versai allies.
It was once Rasa and Cadence had uttered their displeasure, casting their petulant gaze upon Xerxes and situated themselves facing the gathering once more, with their backs to him, did he move forward. With the silence afforded to him by his state of being, he closed the distance between them like a shark on the seal, silent, unassuming, until he was upon them. A chill, colder than death itself was the first sign of his presence, his ghostlike embodiment moving both through the small gap between their solid bodies and their bodies themselves. He said nothing to them, for he had nothing to say, despite the lack of need for breath, he would not waste it on them. With a final slice of his translucent tendrils that sliced through their face, he strode forwards, his stride nonchalant yet with enough power for him to soon close the distance between he and the Lord and lady. He uttered no word to either of them, yet still held them both ferociously in his oceanic depths, pulling them down with him. After a moment more, he chuckled to himself and turned, striding away without a glance back before situating himself beside Thomasin, eager to see how this wretch may react. Mictecacihautl had wanted to, tried to, control him… La Laurie would be foolish to try the same…
