To capture a predator You can't remain the prey You have to become An equal In every way
Two of her children were gone. Taken by the Helkaer. It enraged her and made her want to go charging into the Outlands demanding to speak with Nemesis. She wanted to break her kneecaps and show her what a mother's wrath was like. But this was not just her battle to fight. Trinity was retired now. She knew she had to let Xovad solve problems for himself this time around. She could only encourage him to keep his head up and push on through the hardships. She was worried about her eldest son. He had not been this devastated ever in his life. All this time he had been training with a woman named Carmilla turned out to be a lie, and the children that he'd fathered with her were of Helkaer blood. Cambion blood. Xovad had come home to Lyrarcor after finding out the truth about Yvette, and Trinity had allowed her son to lean against her and cry, sobbing into her shoulder, screaming that life was not fair. He was heartbroken in more ways than one. She knew he must feel like he was walking on eggshells. He was unstable, but he had to snap out of it, had to keep pushing for the return of his siblings.
Trinity had allowed him to rest for the rest of the day and night as well as into the next morning. Her son needed a break, even just a small one, to think what his next move was going to be. Trinity had taken the time to do some patrols of Lyrarcor. She had ventured to Mersa, standing guard for Xovad for a short while, knowing that he was too trouble to do it at the time. That short break had been enough for Xovad to get back up on his feet. Today, Trinity was back in Lyrarcor, basking in the late morning sunlight near the lake in the western side of their home. She yawned, closing her eyes and listening to the breeze rustling through the pine trees around her. She was worried about Xovad and Dahlia and Hymn and Lirana and everyone else she called friend or family. But she knew she couldn't move mountains. She had to let fate work its way in their lives, as much as it hurt to see them in pain. She hoped that one day soon she could speak with Cadence. She missed him. He'd been so busy with the war they're hardly been able to see each other more than a fleeting moment when he'd come to visit Hymn - and that was before Hymn had gone off to Toxin Raj as part of Nemesis's tax on Lyrarcor.
I hope he's okay... she thought of her mate, forever worried that he would again be taken by the Mists and she would never see him again. It was her worst fear, losing him forever like that.
