EDOM

Why don't you let me follow
To the garden of your mind
Where everything is sweeter
Love and I am Sugarblind?
The war had finally come to an end. The Underworld had been victorious in a battle that involved Good and Evil... with Evil being the victors. Edom wasn't sure how to feel or what to think. Technically, he was an Underworld ally by association - he lived in The Howling Keep, proud allies to the Lord and Lady of the Underworld - however, he felt more inclined to associate with Utopians. They were probably the safer option. He worried that a demon would take advantage of his weak bones and break every one of them just to watch him suffer, laughing the whole time. An angel wouldn't do that. In theory, anyway. These thoughts were kept entirely to himself, however, because the last thing he wanted was for Thomasin to think that he was an Utopian supporter or something. In reality, Edom was probably more neutral than anything. The path of neutrality seemed the best option, in almost every case. He wasn't a fighter, avoided any and all conflict as much as possible because of how easily he got hurt.
So why the hell was he walking through the Bachelor Lands right now, then, you might ask? The answer being: he had no idea. But it was eerie, being out in the Free Lands without the chaos and bloodshed that had been brought with the war. The bloodstains were fading. Peace was settling throughout the realm. But there was one uncertainty on his mind; where were the citizens of the Afterlife? Surely both factions would want to help their allies rebuild after the destruction they had caused? And yet, there had been no sign of the Underworld or Utopia since the end of the ceasefire and ultimate end of the war. Not that Edom was aware of, anyway. Not that he was privy to a lot of important information, considering he was just a basic herd member in the Keep, and a weak one at that, but still! Xerxes wasn't really the type that you missed, when he was around... Demons in particular brought with them a sense of foreboding and eeriness that was unmatched by anything else in the universe, at least in his opinion.
Sighing, the slenderly built pony walked through the still mostly empty Bachelor Lands. He supposed most still didn't feel safe enough to venture into the Free Lands just yet, which was probably why he felt so comfortable being here by himself. Had the Bachelor Lands been particularly busy, he would have skipped out on his little adventure and instead gone somewhere else.
