The Vigilum are a council of equines from any alliance who strive to resolve conflicts throughout Wild Equines. They are trained healers and diplomats, able to care for the mind, body and relationships of those who request their help. They side with everyone, yet no one.

Gift of Healing and Influence
The Vigilum have been granted two abilities by the River Justice. They are the only living equines who possess these powers. Upon joining the Vigilum, the equine joining must perform a ritual where they are branded and granted the ability to use these powers in the presence of the pools that serve as the source. This brand ties them to the power and will disappear if they leave the group, therefor also removing their ability to utilize either ability.

Influence. Those in the Vigilum have been granted abilities to aid in resolving conflicts. They may influence other equines more easily, to convince them where others might fail. They also are able to know when someone is lying to them. These come at the cost of Vigilum members losing their own ability to lie.

Healing. In addition to the knowledge of herbal remedies, the members of the Vigilum may reach out to the Elysian pool of Justice for aid. They may direct their thoughts to the pool while touching an injured equine. They may heal minor injuries this way. However, any time they remove pain from others, they feel it themselves and are weakened.

Invalidating Steals and Knowledge of WE
With most of their work requiring knowledge of events, the Vigilum have a system of obtaining news. They utilize messenger birds to discover current or major events happening around Wild Equines. This allows them to show up when needed or perform rescues.

Another aid the Vigilum may use when dealing with conflicts is the ability to invaildate steals. Once every three months, a Vigilum member may make a previously valid steal, invalid. However, the Vigilum member who has hindered the steal must then remain in custody of the thief for a month.

Expectations
There are certain things expected of those who join the Vigilum. The group is meant to solve conflicts and heal, first and foremost. They work as a council, with no one leader. Others may request their aid by visiting Mount Vigilum and calling for them.

Unbiased. Vigilum members must approach tasks or requests for aid without bias. Histories with the involved parties are not to be thought of and no sides are to be taken. They must assess the situation and use logic to determine a fair solution. If a Vigilum member fails to remain unbiased or performs a wrongful act, they may be expelled from the group.

Training. As healers, the Vigilum must train to remain current with both herbal and theraputic knowledge. Plant knowledge may be used to treat sick or injured equines, or to discern if something is harmful. They must also know of techniques to soothe aching bodies, troubled minds, and to perceive body language accurately.
